Amen! My husband (a pastor) and I (healthcare chaplain) are studying John for Family worship…we’ve spent the last two days on 1:1. Here’s what I wrote in my Bible Journal about what we learned about “Logos” and “Jesus”: Greek philosophers rebelled against the idea of their pagan, vindictive, cruel gods by saying their god (called logos…) would have no human emotions or passions and be unknowable and unchangeable. Logos referred to the divine nature and reason in the world from that perspective. In John 1, he is introducing the concept of “Messiah” to the Greek/Gentile readers of his Gospel. He used “Logos” because that was a familiar concept related to “god/God” for them. The Jesus/Christian/Logos is the personification of God’s thoughts. But our God (capital G), our Jesus is knowable, personable, compassionate and loving. He reveals God to us. We can know Him and He can know us. Hope you enjoyed that! Blessings ❤❤❤

I have never sat down and read the Bible. I would look up the passages that we read at church and see if I can get more from them in context. But that is it. For a few years now I have wanted to read Gods word but feared getting it wrong. Then I found your channel. One video you mentioned start with the gospels and a good friend said start with John. So I did. 3 pages of notes and things squeezed in margins (regular bible) just on the first paragraph. The ‘word’ and ‘was’ is what I was writing on and even before watching this I was connecting it to genesis. Just got your boot camp can not wait. ❤
Oops!!! I forgot to share why the ‘was’ in this verse. Each ‘was’ has a different meaning. One is preexistance of God; one it the relationship with God and the other is predictive. So cool. 🤓🙏🏼💕

If you study the feast days that they observe in the book of John, and how Jesus speaks to the people about the light and water ceremonies that were performed during these feasts. The light and water references will blow your mind!

OK, I've been on this video for 3 hours. I have read re-read highlighted. Marked written in Greek for the first time ever. I wrote out definitions, but I think I'm still confused. And I was told to start at John, so I'm starting with John and you teach me John. So is the word in the first sentence referring to Jesus Christ? Can you explain with the knowledge that it's being explained for somebody? Who has never opened a Bible before who has never understood God before and who grew up in a scientologist, household, and then a wicca household.
What I keep asking and have never gotten an answer to by anyone is, who was God/ Jesus sacrifice to?? His blood was paid to who for us??? Who was his sacrifice offered to for our salvation??
So Jesus was a blood sacrifice to God on behalf of humanity. I researched this while studying Psalm 51 and it blew my mind. He took on all human sins and was punished for it even though He did nothing wrong. God approved of his sacrifice because Jesus was the only perfect, sinless human capable of being a sacrifice at that level. For this reason, no further sacrifices are required by God. If you research the sacrifice of atonement in Mosaic law you'll have a better understanding of why Jesus' sacrifice was so powerful and it will really bless you. Hope that helps. God bless you!
The book of John was not written by John the apostle but by another John who was a contemporary man. It seems that he was a scholar or an administrator etc. That's why this book is different from the other gospels. Sorry I can't remember the name of the theologian who studies this. I'll add it when I find it! 😊

Oh no, trinitarian bias! Would you like to discuss the definite article in John 1:1b that is absent in John 1:1c? The trinity is not biblical, Jesus is the Son of the most high God. Jesus is ministering on our behalf in heaven in the order of Melchizedek.
