Grote Markt, Bruges - 4K Tour of the Amazing Square in the Historic Heart of the City

The Grote Markt of Bruges is the largest square in the city's historic heart and is equally famous as the nearby Burg Square.
It's quite a big square and has been a place for trade since the early Middle Ages and still serves this purpose today with the weekly market on Wednesdays.
The most notable building on the square is the Belfort, the 12th-century symbol of Bruges. Another famous structure is the Provinciaal Hof, flanked by typical examples of Flemish architecture.
In the center of the square, you can admire the statues of Jan Breydel en Pieter de Coninck (1887), the Flemish heroes who opposed the French in the early 14th century, resulting in the "Guldensporenslag."
