Girl I have EDS And just had MPFL reconstruction. Recovery has been rough and I’m absolutely dreading PT, I’m 4 days out. I hope you feel better soon 💕
Natalie Johnson I had MPFL reconstruction in 2019!!! Biggest tip is to put weight on it as soon as possible. If you're on crutches, use the crutches and land with both feet, distributing weight evenly. Good luck with pt!!!
Hi Mickey, so happy to see you on TH-cam! I just don‘t get Instragram - I so much prefer watching your vlogs here. Hope your knee will be better soon! Love from Germany
You are always optimistic. Stay strong and keep smiling your beautiful smile. I know it's very hard, but love your attitude. Hope the healing goes well and the pain continues to subside.
we love a knee surgery queeeen. my incisions looked the same but i had a third, about an inch and a half long vertical under my kneecap on the left side. i had my ACL fixed a few years ago. going in for round two soon! hope your recovery goes awesome you’ll be back at it in no time💕
I've been missing you, wishing you a good recovery girl. Sending you strength, love, positive energy & vibes and a ton of hugs. Hope the pain is under control beautiful girl 🙏💞🌹👊
Thanks for posting this vlog. I know how stressful surgery is for you and I've been wondering how you're getting on after seeing your bone break in your last vlog. Plus this whole pandenic thing that's going on. But as always, your positive attitude is both infectious and inspiring! I hope you're healing well and staying safe. Think I'll go watch the other vid you posted now too! Two videos in one day, you're spoiling us Mickey! 😄
Within one yr I had a torn meniscus repair which caused a huge Baker's cyst to form behind my knee..I have CRPS in my feet.. They tried to prevent the spread by a nerve block but I came out in extreme pain.. They did another nerve block.. Unfortunately the CRPS spread and I have nerve damage to the knee.. No sensation underneath the knee cap..I also had osteoarthritis in my thumb joint to which they had to remove the bone.. They also tried a nerve block.. My hand got infected around the pin site and now I have CRPS in my hand.. My pain has increased and my grip is garbage.. Both my knees are going to crap and my hand is not ok...I am too scared to say anything because any surgery is just making things worse... Regardless of all that, I watch your videos and feel silly for wanting to just lay in bed and never leave.. Like you have so much going on and you show more positivity that I wish I could have.. Just know you're inspiring me to get up and face the world with a different attitude
I feel for you! Feel better soon! I had an arthroscopy done awhile ago as well and they discovered I had damaged all the cartilage lining my femur so they had to remove everything sadly. I have Osteoarthritis now unfortunately. When your cartilage is damaged, as you have described, it flaps around much like a torn meniscus would so I understand how bad it must hurt. Sending good vibes your way!
Your lucky they didn't cancel your surgery. In Canada all surgeries/procurers (unless life threating) have been canceled due to Covid-19. They canceled mine and I have been waiting 1.5 years for it already. I hope this pandemic doesn't last long. I hope you are healing well!
Honestly the worst pain I experienced with my arthroscopy was when the stitches had to come out 😬 my pain meds really helped me out. I know pain meds don't really help you a lot, and your having EDS adds to the complications of recovery, but I hope your knee continues to improve and the swelling is minimal!
i had the same burning pain after i had a surgery on my meniscus(arthroscopy) i had a tear and 4 bone chips it went away after a few days but it was definitely uncomfortable and tylenol helped a lot
Hey Kiddo! Thank you for sharing this, hopefully, your knee will be back to normal... even better than normal, really soon. How is your little sister doing? How is her back? Keep being awesome, Mickey!
Thanks so much for posting this, girl! Very informative. I'm actually getting surgery soon, too. I am wondering if you could explain more about what it was like to get put to sleep? This is the part that freaks me out!! Like, what does it feel like? How do they do it? What does it feel like when they put the stuff in, like do you get sleepy or is more like wide awake to instantly out? Could you have stayed awake if you would have tried or is it impossible? Haha. Basically whatever you remember about that part would be helpful. Thanks so much!
xcalabur18 For me, I feel nothing and then all of a sudden I feel a strong desire to close my eyes and then BAM. I’m out. Then in an instant I’m awake in recovery.
so happy to a lttile video. miss them so much, but we all know how much you have to deal with regularly. hope your knee is doing well now. and hope you and your family are safe up in minnesota. ❤️🙏💪😀
I made a mistake watching this video now, I have to have knee surgery soon and now I’m scared because it looks super painful. I wish you the best recovery
Hi! Idk if you will se this but I’m getting a knee arthroscopy and I’m terrified of anesthesia and I was wondering how it was. Like did you black out immediately or slowly loose conciseness
They start the anesthesia either through your iv or a mask and often both at the same time. Getting put to sleep is absolutely nothing to worry about! After it starts you kind of wait for a few seconds, but then you don't remember anything. You don't remember falling asleep, it's not a slow process. Its quick and easy and there's nothing scary about it, I promise. Then you just wake up! Most of the time they start the meds and i'm waiting for it to take effect and then suddenly i'm waking up in recovery. You can do this, I promise anesthesia isn't anything scary!
I think the only thing that saved me after having this surgery was a nerve block they did on my left leg. I hope that you ste recovering well I know that you had this done a few weeks back.sending you lots love hugs and love with all the other stuff going on right now.
Long time no hear or should that be no watch ( well it's a vid post isn't it?)? ...... wow surgery has come a long way. Years ago people getting that kinda surgery would've be left with great big scars. Sending thoughts and positive vibes. Hope you recover real soon .... ☮️⚛️💐

I’m about to have hip surgery for hip dysplasia in April. I hope you’re doing okay ❤️❤️
Hi honey, how's your knee doing now? I just had knee surgery a month ago today and got diagnosed with having eds yesterday.
Marissa Mullins i couldn’t imagine having stitches. they used glue and steri strips on mine. hope your recovery went well!

I do hope you'll get through all the trouble soon.
those incisions are just like mine in my knee like I had almost two years a go
Have you heard of CRPS? It is a type of pain syndrome. I have had 8 surgeries on my legs due to EDS and CRPS has always intensified the pain.
How are you now dear, I'm getting this same surgery next week
Missed you, glad you’re back.
Hope everything is okay after the surgery and please can you do a room to video when you’re feeling better xx
