We Love the 80s, 90s & 00s!
Legend, still the best first tenor i have heard in a long time
Take 6 is the best acapella group of all time, there is no debate.
Actually heard of Brian McKnight before them, when I bought Brian McKnight's first album and I saw who's helping with background vocals on songs like, My Prayer, Is the feeling going etc. Always wondered who Claude was. Then I got into Take 6 and my mind was completely blown 😮
I miss the Original group members that left take 6 Mervyn Warren & Cedric Dent fire
@@ericmagee5998 BUT Mervyn left after the 2nd album. Cedric was a member for most of Take 6's history. Cedric was a member almost 30 years. Late 80's to mid 2000's. Mervyn's experience was drastically different from Cedric's!
OMG! What a blast from the past! I used to know several of the group members back in the day. We were all a part of the Seventh Day Adventist church! PineForge, Oakwood, etc! Thanks for this interview. I haven't thought about Take6 in so long. They were all great people. Brian could not have been in the group! He was so incredibly arrogant back then! His brother would never say that, so I'll say it. Also, he got caught with his then girlfriend/later wife when he was at Oakwood and, being that it was a "Christian" school, they kicked him out! LOL! That's a little known, fun fact. Anyway, Brian went on to marry her & then she divorced him after two decades of marriage! He cheated on her! Anyway, Brian always thought very highly of himself and he wasn't the type of person to want to share the spotlight. So that's the real reason why he wasn't a part of Take6. The guys would have needed an extra traveling van just to carry around Brian's ego! Sorry to say that, but it is 100% true!
I can believe it.
🤐😅
One of my group members met Brian years ago and said he was the most arrogant ass. I was very disappointed to hear that.
@@RTDavis0503 I heard Johnny Gill in an interview say exactly the same thing about him especially after doing a show together
I've also heard that about him. I think he's an incredible vocalist but I never cared for the guy outside of him singing. You get a sense of his arrogance from some of his interviews.
I waited over 30 years for that explanation 🥹😀
😅
This is awesome.
That was good.👍🏾
🙏🏾😇
actually Brian should do a song featuring take 6 or they can do one featuring him
They’ve made several songs together which include: what’s going on from the standard album. Comes loves on the big band album…. Brian produced many songs on the “Brothers” album by Take 6 (96’) he features on the song “Delilah”.
Also Take 6 are featured on Brian’s debut album on the song “is the feeling gone”
You're late my friend... even on Brian's first album .. they are on it... with cedric dent playing piano
@milkgrapes6420 i totally frigging love love love that version it's up there with the original recording
That's happened a few times.
The man summed it up perfectly. It takes a different kind of personality to function well in a group. I don't see what the problem is. As for Brian..... well, the less said about his situation, the better.
Why
With his ego, I couldn't see him lasting in a group for longer than 10 minutes.
🤭
Brian McKnight is just a solo act bruh. He would have outshined the group without even trying.
@@peacegod44not Mark! Mark out sang Brian. Search Take 6 Little Drummer Boy live performance with Brian McKnight. He and Mark battled
Mark won
@@RTDavis0503 yep. Brian is an amazing artist and is responsible for the sound of alot of singing artists in the late 90s and early 2000s, but I think there are very few if any pop/R'n'B tenor artists alive that can even come close to singing at Mark Kibble's level - and back in the 90s, only Mervyn Warren was anywhere near close to his vocal abilities.
In the 'Live In Japan' album, on the all blues song, Mark improvised a rift/run that is near impossible to replicate even after practising. Doing that spontaenously is not realistic.
Incredible vocalist!

@@RTDavis0503 I'm very familiar with Take 6. Though Mark probably would out sing Brian, Brian just has more star presence.
“Brothers” Is Still Their BEST Album & Guess Who Produced The Whole Thing 💿?
You should qualify your statement with "to me"!
