Nice work Ed, I'm actually very impressed with the performance of that machine and with the targets it finds, it rivals the GPX 6000, I don't think people would be disappointed at all. Great review mate. Cheers Pete

The latest software update really sharpens up the signal. After installing you do a factory reset. This turns of the vibration and gives access to to threshold pitch adjustments. It’s a marked improvement.
This info is for people thinking of buying one. The fact that Algoforce is working on software tweaks, then allowing users to upgrade regularly is nothing short of brilliant.
Excellent showcasing of the algo force
Very noticable and distinct difference in the sound when you on lead or gold.
Just a tip, instead of flipping to coil over to test targets, just get some 3M clear film and cover the top of the coil so you don't scratch it up. works a treat.
Very nice , it would be interesting to see a test on depth with larger bits.Great price and accepts old coils you already have ,brilliant!

I understand this unit itself can’t be used underwater but are there coils suitable for submerging in a foot or two of water?
What size coil is on the machine,
Doesn't sound real sensitive to small nuggets compared to modded 5000.
1. What size coils come with the machine.
2. Will larger coils go deeper.
Hi Phil, coils are optional with the machine, as AlgoForce do not make coils, instead they detector is compatible with the SD / GP / GPX Coils 5-Pin Mono coils (excluding GPX6000 coils).
Larger coils can detect deeper into the ground but have less sensitivity to smaller targets.

wow! Can I use the detector at the beach? It would be a waste to only use it for nugget hunting.

This one is not waterproof like a Surfmaster.
I’m sure if would be fine over wet though.

Sorry mate but I don’t see any outstanding benefits with this machine apart from light weight and target ID. It certainly shows to not have much depth. It’s fancy a pretty but it doesn’t seem to find gold any better than most detectors out there.
