I’m actually making a weddinguest dress for my sister for my own wedding! It’s a bustier with a simple gathered skirt in a beautiful green ❤ loved this video, really inspired to do more patchworking!
Hey, Carly! I'm a 55 year old gremlin, cutting out stuff on the floor! I call it "sewing yoga", and if you could see me doing it, you'd totally understand why. You're brilliant and an inspiration! Thank you!
This turned out as absolutely beautiful 😍😍😍... You look AMAZING 😍🤩🤩... OK, I have to give this dress a try now 😁😁. Thank you so much and keep up the good work👏👏👏👏
I bought the pattern ! Gah! I'd love to try a pink and green design inspired by your version :). I definitely have found using a walking foot on my domestic machine so so helpful when needing to sew straight stitches on knit fabrics for anyone struggling ❤
I have confession, I love your videos and your makes, your personality shining through, but I am not huge fan of patchwork overall. Its usually too busy for me. But I absolutely fall in love with this make of yours. So this is how to get to me, with little bit more simplicity but huge intrigue. I will probably attempt something similar 😍 Thank you for inspiration!
Aw thank you for this comment. I appreciate a lot! I don't often refine my ideas this much but I'm glad it resonated with you. Good luck if you give it a go!!
That dress looks amazing! I'm working on a wedding guest dress too. Vogue 9100. It's the first dress I'm making for myself, first time inserting an invisible zip, sewing princess seams and fitting princess seams. After 6 or so muslins, it's looking pretty good. Enjoy the wedding party!
One of the most stunning dresses I have ever seen! Thank you for sharing your process! ❤️🧡 Love love love the color blocking! 😍 I just finished helping make a prom dress with satin and mesh embroidered fabric! Quite tricky 😅 but satisfying! Now working on some fun drawstring bags ✨
The dress looks wonderful! I am honestly thinking that I should purchase any sewing machine and start sewing right now because I am wedding guest in week and I have nothing appropriate to wear 😀
This video was just the perfect vibes!!! I love seeing you documents new techniques you learn, as well as trialling new things like this project. As I was watching, I'm just hand sewing a little neck corset for a little fair jester look I'm creating. Immaculate vibes 10/10
Your interpretation looks better than the original. Love the color blocking. You are very talented and fearless. All of your makes are very inspirational. ❤
Ah thank you so much mate!! Appreciate a lot. You're amazing - mending is a very important but often overlooked task. Oooh I hope the quilt goes well! happy sewing
I worked on upsizing my saree blouse. And I realised what a poor job the so-called professional tailor had done. In my country people get their clothes made by tailors on a regular basis. I noticed the following problems: 1. Horribly done invisible zipper 2. One of the sleeves had one side cut smaller than the other. 3. One half of the bodice was not the same size of the other half. It was as if the bodice and the arms were cut on the same side ( I hope it makes sense) 😅 I literally cried while fixing it and realised the professional tailors do not actually sew professionally for everyone and me learning to sew is paying its dividends. Also I have a question: Is there a specific reason you chose to use your domestic for this fabric rather than your Juki?
sorry for all the fuss with your shirt! I hope it is looking good now. Also I originally started with my domestic because I had ball point needles to use & they only fit my domestic... I didn't end up using them so I definitley could've/should've used my industrial but I had already threaded my domestic & I was just too lazy to change haha!!
Hey everybody!! I forgot to ask in the video !! What are YOU working on this week?!!

Me: oh! Easy! Just get a scuba fabric and it’ll be perfect!
Carly: it’s gonna be patchwork.
Me: 😳🤔🤔🤔
