That sounds right to me Aunt Rose, I knew someone in the family would know, but I didn’t want to speculate. That would have made him my great-great grandpa right?
I love your stories, Vickie! My husband (born in TN) has Joneses on both side of his family. I'll have to check his tree. Thank you and be blessed always! xoxo
Wow that's amazing a feud and war between the two family's last that long... A lot of death in this war... Wow incredible story... Very , very interesting these old old stories you find and share with us... Hancock county has quite the reputation way back when.... That's crazy how ones from each side crossed over ... Yes please continue with this series... It's amazing to hear of the stories back in the 1800's... God bless y'all and love all the videos you are doing from crafts to cooking to history ... 🙏🙏❤️❤️🥰🥰
Greene/ Jones war reminds me of the Hatfield's/ McCoy's war we are taught growing up. They should add this to history to the books! Wonder how they pick and choose what they teach? Thanks Aunt Vickie! 😊
The town I grew up in is a very rural place with a population of only around 6000 as far back as I have known. They were also considered on of the poorest counties in the state.
I enjoy listening to you tell the history of Hancock Co. Have you came across anything that has surprised you? Something you didn't know or something that was different than you remember hearing about. What's funny about these feuds is, years later these feuding families marry each other,
Love your stories. I believe Hampton was grandma Wolfes grandfather. That might help you figure out how many greats he is. Your mom would know .
