    You have no idea how much you're videos have helped me. I was getting tired of building damm box buildings aka apartment complexes.

    I wanted to comment and thank you so much for all your work. TH-cam is a n awesome medium for teaching. I wish it was around when I was a kid. :)
    I was wondering what the devs had in mind when they made those triangle pieces, and now I know. I love building in Conan, and this helped. (subscribed)

    Like @Patt said, you explain things really well. I never saw the correlation between the floor triangles and the roof pieces. I was always ok until I got to the roof. lol Thank you so much for all the time it took to make these. It's a time pit for sure uploading videos. I'm off to my game to try this out.

    Dude this is amazing my first castle is a rectangle and now i'm about to attempt a geometrical tower im so excited thankd for you great tutorial.

    I've built a few towers like this, but I started making them into star shapes purely so I can place thrall guards in the star points on every floor (and female dancers in every one of the 5 points of my throne room). Plus its unique (in my mind). Making stairs after is a headache tho. I resorted to doing stair, wedge, square, wedge, stair so there is a landing on every floor too, and because the star shape slightly effects stability.

    Perfect. Built it yesterday. Worked like a treat. Great thanx and keep up the work.

    this helped a ton. however I had trouble filling in the 2nd floor of a large radius tower. building a pillar underneath the empty spot was enough to get the stubborn triangle to snap in.

    Seem because I used a larger floor plan I can’t finish the Center of the ceiling the wedge don’t seem to want to snap to other wedges without scare ceiling pieces

    Nice vids. A bit old but still best design. I think I understand how the current building system works that I can do this and bigger. Dragoon tower and trial of the Leap of Faith.

    Great tutorial, I do have a question though. On your tower with the external staircase how do you get the walls to match the angle of the stairs. I've tried in the sandstone tier with both a wall and a fence and using the axis rotation function but can't get anything to mold to the shape like yours.

    • @WikkydGaming
      @WikkydGaming  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you mean the wall below the stairs on the exterior? Those are just the left and right hand pieces that people typically use on the gable end of roofs.

    • @mishkael1
      @mishkael1 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wikkyd Gaming yes that's what I mean. I must not have yet unlocked these. If I understand you correctly they are essentially wall pieces but instead of rectangular they are triangles with a flat bottom edge and either slope down and left or down and right from the top point. That would fit perfectly with what I imagine I would need.

    • @WikkydGaming
      @WikkydGaming  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's correct. They are basically 90 degree right triangles.
      There are 3 skills that give them:
      Level 11 - Thatched Sloped Roofs ( Cost 1 knowledge pts )
      Level 28 - Wooden Sloped Roofs ( Cost 2 pts )
      Level 46 - Tiled Sloped Roofs ( Cost 3 pts )
      And the items each of the above skills give are called Left-sloping * Wall or Right-sloping * Wall, where * is either Sandstone, Stonebrick, or Reinforced depending on the level.

      Thank you very much, ive started my own round tower and its going very well. I have made some notes that i would like to share since you seem to enjoy putting out videos on this subject. Firstly for those that like to prepare ahead, if done correctly using your pattern the math on blocks needed is geometric. It always takes 2 triangle pieces to 1 square piece for a single floor (this is excluding the ceiling, stairs etc). For a 1 ring tower (core + 1 deep square blocks) its always 6 square 12 triangle, for a 2 ring its 24 square and 48 triangle and for a 3 ring its 54 square 108 triangle. My tower is a 3 ring and you cannot add a solid roof without some supports and i found one that looks very nice. On the central ring of 6 triangles forming a hexagon i put a door frame on all 6 sides. This let me roof out from the center and in from the outer edges with no stability issues, you can either roof in or leave open the very central part to make a channel through your tower. I then placed a Bonfire in the middle and it lights up the entire floor and i dont have any additional supports taking away from the rest of the floor-plan. I havent attempted it yet but given how far you can build off a wall before stability becomes an issue i think this central frame would allow for a 4 ring tower with no additional support (which given the above math would require 96 square pieces and 192 triangle pieces per floor).

    Why when I build walls next to the stairs to use the walls as supports, if I build the stairs first before building the wall, then when I get to the part where the wall should connect to the highest point I've built for the stairs when it starts needing support. The wall piece refuses to place there against the against the stairs. But if I build the wall first, the stairs builds fine against the wall. But when checking it's stability of the stairs highest point, it remains at 5 despite being built against the stairs with the wall being built first and stairs second. So I'm confused how you're getting walls to work as supports, would greatly appreciate you clearing this up for me.

      @WikkydGaming  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are right, I just checked and you have to build the walls first. They keep changing the building system and it is breaking certain techniques. This is just one example of many where you have to build things in a certain order to get the effect you want. I know, it is extremely frustrating! Another example someone pointed out last week is that you can no longer place wall pieces on foundation pieces. We used to build walls out of foundation pieces, and then line the foundation pieces on both sides with regular wall pieces. This basically beefed up the hitpoints by having 3 pieces in the same volume as 1 foundation piece. (2 walls + 1 foundation). So basically set down a bunch of foundation pieces, then line both sides with wall pieces. You cannot do it in that order anymore. You basically have to set down the bottom layer of foundation pieces, then use wall pieces on both sides going up as high as you want the walls to go, then fill in with foundations pieces.

      Also one more thing to add. The walls are not supporting the stairs. Stairs only have two snap points, the top and bottom of the stairs. So in this case, the stairs are not snapping to the walls, they are snapping to wedge ceiling pieces. The wedge ceiling piece is however snapping to the wall. So the walls are not directly supporting the stair pieces. Hope that helps clear some things up.

      Ohhhhh! This makes much more sense, with this I was able to get it working last night! Thank ya very much for the clarification, it's been rather helpful! Much appreciated, for you taking your time to not only reply, but test it yourself!
