A simple oversight can cause a lot of unnecessary stress when trying to drive your boat. But it's all worth it so we can get this old girl cleaned up and checked out at the boat yard.
I'm 10 years in and still can't back mine up worth a damn, but you are correct when you indicate that no damage is a success. You are a guy after my own heart. Don't worry about the drips on the bottom. You can't see it anyway. Tape up a sheet for the rest of it to catch the drips.
Just a few tips. - Get to know the throttle when you are still moored. How does the prop effect influence your boat? How do you get it out of gear? What feeling for power do you have at a specific RPM? - Understand that speed is your friend, being too slow can be as problematic as being too quick. - Prepare yourself in advance / in a safe place. If you know you are going to land on the starboard side of your boat, prepare the lines and the fender beforehand. For what I can tell, you are reacting good to bad situations. I have the feeling you could do better if you'd plan ahead.
I am just starting out , bought a 26' sailboat and my fear isn't as much sailing but leaving the marina and finding it coming back 😊 I'm an old man living out a boyhood dream. You reacted just the way I'm expecting to react, course's ....might be in order!
Hey we all make mistakes brother ! When we record ourselves , it always hurts a little more , I felt the pain . My little bit of advice is try to have more help ! It seem like things happen faster when your by yourself . Smooth sailing !
I didn’t have a survey. I did take it out for a test run and after seeing the condition of the engine and other components I pulled the trigger on it :)
I thought about it. But heard it’s bad luck 😆 Also didn’t want to re-register with the coast guard and all that. Plus this is my starter/learning boat so who knows how long I’ll actually keep it.
I understand your want to get out on the water, but your boat wants to be proud out there showing off her name and new blue antifoul. Make her proud, make her look quick and pretty.
LOL, I've seen worse and done worse. Just glad mine was never on video. Hang in there, you'll get it figured out.
Thank you for the support! I feel way more confident already
I’m glad you show it when things don’t go perfectly. We’ve all been there. Nice channel. Keep it up!
Of course! It’s all about the journey, good and bad. Thank you
The maneuver looked good to me. All went well and nothing broke.
New fan here. Inspiring brother! Exactly what I was looking for on here.
That’s great to hear! Happy to have you aboard

You are right. I don’t think the fish will mind about the drips! Thank you

You got that right! Appreciate it
When backing with rudder hard over you restrict water to prop . Putting in gear does help
Listen, every docking can’t be perfect! Way to recover though and the boat is lookin goooood
My thoughts exactly 😁
HAHAHA 5:08 the lions were laughing at ya bro HAHAHA. good job keeping your head clear. boating/sailing will get easier
LOL yeah they could smell a rookie boater in the water
Did you have a survey prior ro purchase of the boat?

Thank you for letting us backseat you journey. Definitely subbing here :)
Thanks for the sub and coming along for the ride!
Nothing better than a half-ass job! Why do it right when you can do it quick....
How come you didn't rename the boat?
I thought about it. But heard it’s bad luck 😆 Also didn’t want to re-register with the coast guard and all that. Plus this is my starter/learning boat so who knows how long I’ll actually keep it.

That’s good advice. I’ll keep working on her. Thank you 😊
