They have me the code with no cost or going to dealership gave it over the phone now it works for the rest of the radio and have code now

Great fix Steve! I will say when you replace your battery its vital to get a plug in adapter to your power port that hooks to a 9 volt battery. Will give the radio enough power so it won't shut off👍

How a came across your video
I got 6 car radios tonight $20 for 6 try to
So my story in Melbourne COVID lockdown.
I got a caravan & to much time to.
I tried few power adapters upto 12v 5a but cut out on the CD.
Then this small power adapter 1 to power led light strip 12v says 12watt so calculating it’s 1amp it works awesome only 1amp. Tell if I’m wrong?
I tried it on old car radios
I had it powering good CD player 4ohm speakers reasonably loud to

Hi Steve, love your videos and honesty. Your method worked on my 2003 Ford BA XR6 ICC unit, thanks a lot for it. I would like to ask you if the OBD2 you are using in a video would work on my XR6 and turn off seat belt warning light, it's bloody driving me nuts when driving at night. Also i changed a cluster that works great but the bloody thing has traction control light that i would like to switch off, specially when my car has no traction control installed. Your help would be greatly appreciated and love to shout you a cupper or dozen. Cheers mate.

I have 3 in total readers, a scan tool one (shown) and 2 generic wifi ones via ebay - None as far as I know, do much except clear codes, so may or may not work for your problems - I recently did a factory reset on my Fairmont, and afterwards, I had a 'new feature' which was what I'll call 'a screen power saver', as the bloody thing kept going OFF after 10 seconds...I thought "that sucks!", so I eventually 'turned off' that 'feature' by again doing the same trick as in this video; PERHAPS (long shot) - It MIGHT work for yours? *I'm always happy to help anyone, and if they subscribe by way of thanks, that's always nice...I DO have the little heart icon under most of my videos now, which sends money (but google TAKES 50% of it!), so IF and only if, you feel like buying me some much needed coffee - I also have a secure paypal link in the description area. @@SteveMack I'll work some thing out Steve. Say, have you heard of this app. FORScan, apparently does more then the OBD2 with out it.
This worked for me when I tried with a Territory
But It does not do it when swapping out the ICC with a different one
Oh, that sucks; I think I did hear in the comments here once, that if swapping it out, it may not work - IF you haven't already; keep trying it, as one thing I've found with cars (& in fact ALL forms of electronics) over the years - SOMETIMES, it takes multiple attempts - Case in point recently (I didn't bother filming it): When I coded a new remote: must've tried 20 times before I FINALLY must've EXACTLY timed it - and, DONE (not bad for a $14 item from ebay!) 😉👌👍Let me know if you get it.

Sounds like a bad electrical connection to ME, but I'll see if I can get hold of one of my Auto Electrical mates to see if they have another possible reason👍
Had my old battery here recharged it put it back in my ford territory 2006 n bang the code was gone nice!

Hi Steve, I have the same radio in my territory.
A few days ago the screen sort of times out and goes black after a few seconds, even when I reverse, it works for a second then goes black. The radio and everything works its just the display that stops working. Any ideas would be appreciated

If you didn’t fix already this hold down the power button till it beeps it’s a feature if you find the screen to bright at night
I have A BA Falcon with a single disc cd player. The cd player plays up and stops playing intermittently for a split second then continues playing. Would you have any idea what that could be and also what is the part name of it, ive tried looking online for it and have come up empty....Thanks
...As a GUESS, it sound like a bad wiring connection, but it could also be a LASER fault (or something else). Do you know any auto electricians?

No worries - limited success without looking at it. Hope you find a solution - replacing units is often cheapest, as virtually no one does repairs anymore sadly.🍻

I have a 05 territory. Changed the battery and now have a warning. "Security Code Error". What can I do?

@@SteveMack Hi Steve. I have with no avail. What actually happened was that the car had an aftermarket antihijack system that the dealer didn't know about.
If you swap out your icc and change it with another one you will need to swap the acm.
If anyone is in Perth i know someone that can link up your swapped icc for $50.

...It seems hit & miss, as works for many, as you can read in the comments, but not all.
Didnt work for my 04 ute....i searched and found a short video an had to use his way and your way....ok so first i done his way that got up my climate control only than done your way to get up the radio AND ITS TEMPORARY got to do it each start up..........BUT, all i have to do is his way an everything comes up but only for a couple mins than the dreaded 4 letter word comes up. Also now thats ive had it working trying your way changes something on the R/H side instrument screen? It turnes something on an off says 100? Dont know. If u know a solution that works let me know
I actually found the "REAL WAY" 100% FIX for rest of the cars life deleted never to be found again on the system!!!! Look up on TH-cam Mr Car Radios channel its a 20 minute video.. hope this information help some1 who needs to know the "real way" its done 😉
@@lukebyrnes5235 Well, as evidenced by the magority of comments; my way works permanently, for most. It's weird though that things aren't always the same in these cars!
Strange. The '100' sounds to me, like the speed alarm, in which case you can use the up/down buttons to preset the speed at which it'll sound if you exceed the set speed. You can enable / disable that by pulling the little bar upwards behind the lhs of steering wheel.

Interesting thing mate: later models of fords had this exact hack listed as a service guide way to reset malfunctioning units! I think you’ve stumbled on a universal reset Ford has been using for a long time and just never told people about!

That's really odd, as it has for SO MANY! Does it have the same Premium sound system as shown?
Doesnt, the ecu will only hold the code for 12hrs
No; it will hold codes until you disconnect the battery, although modern fords don't actually NEED a code
yes they reboot some newer models via the ecu on reconneting the battery ,because they store it in the ecu
but some older models dont
