Squall's Gunblade can shoot magic, sword beams and has an effective range that is longer than the curvature of the earth, I think the weapon speaks for itself. XD
Nine years later I change my mind and I decided this version of force your way it's priceless at its own way. The chorus it's exquisitely awesome with that violins
i can hardly believe my ears, this rendition is super hype and yet it's been sitting here for years. there might be something to be said about dissidia remakes but my thinking is that 8's score is already suited to the new bells and whistles. not to mention the gaps that got some extra flair here.
This theme is just so awesome its like watching Cloud, squall, sephiroth,Lightning, laguna,Tifa and all the other characters Clash in a big fight Good Vs Evil
@@joebrotherson9653 That's a remaster. Not a remake. The difference is that a remaster is just a graphical upgrade, while a full-on remake is rebuilding the game from the ground up, often to suit modern consoles. An actual FFVIII remake would have voice acting, enhanced combat, and loads more.
That's so true, the only real contrasts are Squall's slight hesitation and keeping his thoughts to himself and Lightning making the decision to turn her back on her security and her career to save Serah, whereas Squall needed a little nudge from his friends to do it for Rinoa. But, the post-transformation versions of both have their only differences meet right in the middle. They're even both orphans chasing their siblings' (albeit surrogate in Squall's case) shadow throughout the game.
+Grcho420 Sadly, no. THis is just a rehash of the original and they tried to make a few tweaks and such. Great theme but it can't outweigh the intensity of the Black Mages version.
FF7 boss battle (especially in the remake) it's amazing... But for me THIS IS THE BEST boss battle theme. You just got pimped up when you begin to hit things with Renzokuken.
I was saying that Lightning's weapon also has no parts that would shatter. I was agreeing with you on Squall, but adding that Lightning's won't shatter, either.
Not really no. The lower part of the "scissor" is the barrel and as it is clearly shown, it not only is a retractable piece (guns require a linear and uniform barrel so that the bullet doesn't bounce), but said piece also has an internal piece that juts out, meaning that THAT specific section is not a barrel at all, but just a spike. To fire legitimately, it would have to be a plasma emitter, not a slug shooter because it can't fire anything without a barrel.
yes it will. it may have a locking mechanism to hold the parts together but from a strong impact it could be damaged. Just because she has blocked Odin's zantetsuken in the game doesn't mean that the gears or other thingamajigs wouldn't break in real life. that's my point.
(Squall has the sturdier model) I said that before in my comment. but it only relies on the revolver's recoil to increase damage. it also allows him to execute a combo of slashes. (e.g solid barrel in dissidia) (the transformation sequence cannot compromise the internal structure of the weapon) I don't know about that. but it can be possible. watch this and look closely. watch?v=9GbNRRgkrBY
Squall, because quite honestly, it is impossible to make such a gun fire legitimately on equivalent levels. At the baser tech level, the only thing that matters is the tensile strength of the sword and Squall has the sturdier model. For the "legit" gunblade to exist, the transformation sequence cannot compromise the internal structure of the weapon. Once you get up there to energy weapons and technology, the gap closes at which point, its up for grabs because both weapons are speculative tech.
I definitely agree with you there, I'd love to see this on the PS3. I'm just saying the PSP isn't that bad. Of course, it'd be by far better on the PS3.
(it would have to be a plasma emitter, not a slug shooter because it can't fire anything without a barrel.) we don't know for sure what type of ammunition Lightning uses for her gunblade. It could be plasme tech because it creates arcs of electricity on the barrel when it shoots something. Like I said before, the game uses advanced/futuristic/alien technology for their weaponry. I mean, c'mon! That could be year 20xx or something. So your whole reason of mechanics doesn't apply.
Actually, Vaan is also 5'7.Laguna is 5'9 and in the picture it's shorter than Lightning. That's not an official image, just the characters arts pasted in a background by someone (I mean, seriously, look at Lightning, she has an incredibly big head right there! and she is behind them! wtf!). P.S: Vaan's the best! :D
It does when Final Fantasy VIII is utilizing psuedo science as the background for the series. For all we know, the laser beams and shockwaves are a product of the weapon's make and not anything distinctly magical (no magic need be junctioned to use the weapons and limit breaks). For such an argument, once you reach that point of contention, what point is there in trying to prove their superiority in anything but performance?
Said attacks require no actual magic (FFVIII pretty much states that if you aren't a sorceress, then your magic is junctioned, not inherent). As a result, everything that the weapon can do is up to its make. Now if it were to require specific "bullets" to do them, that would be a viable explanation. But the weapon has no magical properties. (Want magic weapons, go see FFVII, they got ALL the magic in them).
how can light's weapon be impractical? it can shoot freaking bullets. and is convertible into a sword if ever you ran out of ammo.Squall's gunblade only relies on the gun's recoil to increase it's cutting power. I'll give you two options then... would you whack your enemies with a sharp vibrator, or would you rather shoot him if he ever tries to run away?
Wait, Dissidia has music that isn't exclusively trance? I distinctly hear proper percussion. I mean, it still largely sounds like it appeals to 90s ravers, but there's other stuff in there too.
(Dodge) xD Too slow. (Aerial Circle) Youre gone! (Truly, i never ever use Revolver Drive, its so slow and it works only good near walls. Its not even an actual limit break in FFVIII. Try Blasting Zone instead, its fast, forward and reliable.)
And yet your point relies on the inherent fact that it is still using ridiculously speculative tech at which point it just puts it on the same page as the original gunblade. The only point of contention is that if Lightning had the tech for plasma emitters, than Squall should also have that liberty to justify his blade beams. Regardless, by the point of build alone, Squall's is still inherently better built.
Squall's Gunblade can shoot magic, sword beams and has an effective range that is longer than the curvature of the earth, I think the weapon speaks for itself. XD
classic ff. cutscene/reality: i can cut things, i guess. in battle: i can cut galaxyes
zell without any weapon, he can running around earth many times 😄
just with his gloves 😆
@@Pemburu_recehan I love final haven
Yeah, but Laguna has a machine gun. Checkmate.
Rinoa can turn her dog into a rocket launcher

this is the best modern version of Force your way indeed

I love that this image features two of my most favorite pretty waifus: Tifa and Laguna.
Of all the dissidia remakes, this one is the best for me.. Oh, and Julia too.. Actually the Battle on the Big Bridge is also pretty epic
8 so deserves a Remake too
Especially I want to see how Selphie would look like
It did tho. It got an HD remake a few years ago.

Thanks for extending this, it's one of my favourite songs :)
Dont you just love how badass gilgamesh is, facing the other way like that?
He's looking at their weapons
Quote appropriately badass in its Opera Omnia usage
Even though it's just the regular boss theme from 8, it may as well be Seifer's theme in OO. Not that I'm complaining of course.
This is the best FF boss theme.
This game was really a great great game
Me too my friend. :D "Arrrgh...

"your getting the cuchi cuchi treatment"
THE GREATEST ATTACK EVER!
? why, there is some special interaction?
Poor Vaan, he gets so much hate! I'm beginning to think I'm the only one that actually adores him
Vaan in the original game was a good, dynamic character, who grows over the course of the game and Bobby Edner played his growth really well.
Greatest. Attack. Ever!
*Ragnarok Cannon Intensifies*
did they hire The Black Mages for this OST or something? it's kick ass

I prefer this version over black mages and the original version, one of the best soundtracks in the game. much more upbeat, direct, and epic
the song is beautiful
I really enjoyed this game the storyline is good and it didnt dissapointed me and about the screen i really dont care for me is the best psp game

squall's weapon may be impractical in actual combat, but it's strong and sturdy because it has no moving parts that would shatter.
Really?

Time to RRAAAGAHHH!......Leg cramp....
I wish there was a way to mod this song into FFVIII as the boss battle theme now that the game is available on Steam and multiple platforms.
If you play the FF Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift he does have a shirt on the entire time.
of course, i mean all those badass characters in epic PS3 graphic...
with awesome gameplay...

I've grown to love this theme as it plays over and over in the background during a very annoying boss like Odin or Ultima Weapon.
You're not alone.
they should have a separate final fantasy game with just these 8 characters in a party. lol
You forget one thing... HE LIVES ON A DESERT!
gilgamesh is also in ff 9 as allyway jack, and 13-2 as dlc.

No. It's just the angle where Lightning stands. Cloud is also 5'7 and Squall is 5'8 in height.

Preaching to the choir on that one. Lightning's gunblade is likely incapable of even firing in real life because of the transforming mechanism.
