    Ill stick with Sierra, I found them to be less finicky to load and the performance has been great on all big game I have hunted here in British Columbia

    Liking the series brother, keep it up! Nosler ABLR is my choice. My experience is with the 129 gr ABLR and 130 gr TGK in 260 Rem and the 140 gr TGK in 270 Win. Had no trouble at all to get 1/2 moa with the Nosler's, The Sierra's haven't been as accurate but I think they are still a good bullet.

    I have a foot in both camps. I use 175 ABLR's in my 7mm Rem Mag for long range shots when hunting the tops and 165 Sierra TGK's in my 308 bushpig. With bush hunting the shots are so close you can run the TGK's a bit slower to avoid blow ups. When used appropriately both are very, very effective.

    I used that exact Tipped Game King in my 6.5 CM to take a big old die this year. She dropped right there. Very accurate. The second Dow I took with the ELD-X similar wound but she ran about 20 yards. I am out of TGK's. I'll be trying a Barnes LRX this year. I finally found a box of Accubonds, but I will save them for something bigger like an Axis deer.

    I'm culling Aoudad on a large ranch in SSW Texas. If money was no object I'd of course go with the ABLR but money IS an object. I've taken 7 Aoudad in the last month. 3 with a 6.5 PRC using the 143 grn Precision Hunter and 4 with the 6.5 Creedmoor using the 130 grn tipped Game Kings. Ranges have generally been around 150 yards. The Game Kings really have done the best job with the Precision Hunter bullets over penetrating. The dog and I have only had to track one animal due to a poor shot and double l lung penetration from the PRC. I've been pleasantly surprised by the performance of the Creedmoor with the Game Kings.

    Haven't tried the Sierra Tipped Game King. But then, I have no need to. The Nosler line of bullets, particularly the AccuBond LR calibers along with the Barnes TTSX that I load my hunting bullets with, do all I need for both hunting and shooting. Even when I find seconds or blems at attractively reduced cost, I find they more than meet my needs. Sierra makes a good bullet. I've used their Game King bullets in the past for my 7mag, 30-06, and 6.8 SPC loads.

    Both great bullets! Nosler for Hunting and Sierra for targets.

    I have had trouble finding ether bullets locally. I have found one large department store that has both. Hornady has saturated the market here in Idaho.

    I had a couple hundred 165 Sierras and took one bedded mule deer. He never even stood up, however I think just about any decent bullet would have done the same if the shot placement was the same. Ran out of these bullets and am switching to the 168 Accubond lr 7mm this season as I was able to find 200pc. Hopefully load development will go well.

    Accubond LR has to be the winner here. The bonded component just makes it SO much more effective and practical for hunting.

    I'd pick the nosler out of these two.ive loaded the tipped seirra game kings and they are accurate but I've see what happens when they hit game at high speeds or even just regular loading but game being to close they blow up and ruin alot of meat and not much penetration.the accubond long range is a good bullet they hold together better than the seirra tipped game king and the nosler ballistic tip but do shed just a hair more than the nosler accubond.thanks again for the videos really enjoy them.God bless

    Sako loads these Sierra tipped game kings in 165gr 300wm. Shoot quite well in my Tikka. Have not harvested anything with it yet so no feedback on weight retention etc.

      Nice, let me know how that goes when you do harvest an animal. Thanks for watching!

    I have used the Sierra tipped game king at the range in my Bergara B14 HMR. They are extremely accurate. I’ve gotten 1/2 moa at 100 yards. I have not used them for hunting yet. I’ve also used the Nosler accubonds in 308 Winchester. Also pretty accurate. 3/4 moa in my other Begara. Have not used those for hunting yet either. Either is a good choice. IMO.

    ABLR all day and twice on Sundays!
    The ABLR might be expensive but it's the cheapest part of the hunt.

    ABLR. You stated the sierra was a tipped version of the Match-king. IDK, I think it's a tipped version of the Game-king. Which was just a standard cup/core, SPBT. A good bullet, but imo the Speer SPBT is a notch higher in impact performance hunting scenarios.

      Sierra claims it's a re-engineered matchking bullet. www.sierrabullets.com/product/30-caliber-180-gr-tgk/

    • @brent338
      @brent338 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting. I would have thought the other way around. Why design a match bullet for hunting... Copycat to the ELD-m? Marketing as a eld-x? Lol. Who knows, I imagine performance would be closer to eld-x.

    I live an hour away from Sierra and I can’t even get my hands on one. I’ll vote for the game king just cause I’ve heard good things from friends but I don’t have any hands on experience myself.

    How can you give an opinion on how a bullet is going to perform when you have never tried one? I love how you TH-camr guys read a reloading manual out load in front of a camera, and people think they are experts 🙄

    • @ReloadingWeatherby
      @ReloadingWeatherby  ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never claimed to be an expert. If I was an expert I wouldn't be on TH-cam haha. Why are you so cranky?
