@@MultiMagnum62 Good to know! Everything has gone up. I’ve purchased some mountain house and they are not bad and they’ve jumped in price as well! I’ll check out your channel looking forward to the Squid in its own ink taste test! 😬yikes! Also If you are saying the shotgun with regular shells are a little painful… these minis are for you! Take care
Thanks for the video. How do these compare to the Federal shorties? And, would you say the recoil and blowback is significantly reduced, or just a slight difference?
You’re welcome! The federal shorties are similar to the birds shot. I have not shot anything else in the federal but the bird shot. They are a huge difference from regular shells. Although I feel they are still effective and would do fine at reasonable ranges. Plus the capacity is great!
If putting it in a shockwave… Buckshot mini shell no question. In a 18inch or something you could be fine with slugs. For me though buck shot is my choice.
Yes once it’s in you can only use the mini shells. Not a big deal to change it out though. Mossberg has a 590S model I believe it takes anything you throw at it without having to change. Here’s another mini clip video and I did a versus with em too check it out OPSol Mini Clip 2.0 install th-cam.com/video/AlNq14-rhEQ/w-d-xo.html
I’d want the full size if I’m knowingly going to encounter bears. They’re good and still would do the trick I would think and you get more rounds but I’d be going with the full size shells
People are comparing the OPSol Flex Adapter to the 590S and the Defender Tactical adapter. They ARE NOT the same thing. The S and the DT DO NOT transform a 3" receiver into a mini shell receiver. ONLY the OPSol does that. As a result, a minishell can rattle around and flip with those solutions. There is an extra 1.4" of room in the receiver for the minishell to move freely during the feeding cycle. What other firearm allows that? Do they work when you are shooting normally...typically yes. But when you or your family is defending the home, and moving, racking hard, racking in odd orientations, that extra rattle room allows minis to flip, fall out, etc. A regular shell needs a regular 3" receiver opening, and a minishell needs a mini receiver (1.6"ish) opening. Only the OPSol Flex Adapter reduces the Mossberg 500 receiver opening. Finally, at the end of the day, with the shotgun prepared for home defense, will it be loaded with a multitude of shell lengths and recoil responses, or loaded with ONE particular shell (full length or mini) that your family has practiced with and is comfortable with?
You mean the mini clip right or the shockwave or both? Like a champ, on both fronts! Zero malfunctions on the clip and the shockwave and I’ve put several rounds on both. I actually did another vid using the same mini clip in a 500. Check it out! Any questions let me know! 👇👇 th-cam.com/video/AlNq14-rhEQ/w-d-xo.html
Definitely a gimmick, if you wanna tame down the recoil by using mini shells for someone who's shy of recoil it'd be OK, but, it now limits the gun down to only mini shells, if your to keep one gun in general set up for mini shells, then ok, that's the only downside of this product that I can see..
I don’t think it’s a gimmick really. Especially in weapons like the shockwave. It does limit the gun to minis while the adapter is in although it takes seconds to pull it out and it will take whatever it’s chambered in. Not to mention capacity increase. So I would say they have a place. I have a long video up with the rem tac 14 and the shockwave and I’m only using mini shells. Pretty neat
