THANK GOD !!! A painter that is simple, direct and walks you through it in such a manner that is totally understandble! After watching so many other tutorials on acrylics and especially "clouds" ... I got it with this guy! Thank you, thank you, thank you! You are a jewel !
One of the best cloud painting tutorials out there. Your clouds are so authentic looking....like you can see the vapour they are made from...excellent! Thank you for sharing.
I am a beginning painter. Tim's technique he shows here has let me paint the most satisfying clouds since I've started. I have searched the web, books and everything I could think of. But this lesson here has been the best for me. Thank you Tim so much for this. I'm really enjoying clouds now. I took up painting for stress relief. Now painting has given me some stress! But this has taken a lot of the stress out of it. What really nice clouds you can paint with this.
Tim brother I use too pain till I was 15 , 16 years of age and I quit because I got busy with life ,now I m 41 I just saw couple of your videos. And inspired me to paint back again. I thank you from heart. I learn so much from your videos. Keep up the good work buddy. Lots of blessings.
Thank you so much. You're an amazing teacher.I can't tell you how many videos I've watched trying to learn to paint realistic clouds, and yours was the only one that made any sense. Your step by step instructions were extremely helpful.
I love this video, it is both inspiring and educational and if I can one day paint as beautifully as this then I will be fulfilled beyond words, thank you for a beautiful cloud!
This is the best cloud lesson I've seen so far. You really made it seem so simple. I'm going to try it while I play the video again to see if I can get my clouds to at least be a simulation of yours!.
Great tutorail, thank you. I'm getting back into painting after many years and this has really helped me remember some of the technique used for clouds. Thank you!! Please keep them coming... God Bless!!
just want to say thanks... great demo and you seem to have the gift to teach. wish i could afford your online classes, you have inspired me to pick up my brushes again. peace and hugs
Thanks Tim, your simple clear information helped on my first real nice cloud. Was having trouble making good ones. Now making better ones. THANKS DONNA
So many people asking what brush the up loader is using takes me back to when I was learning photography (over 35 years ago eek!!) and everyone needed to know what aperture and shutter speed the photographer used to take a picture. Now that I am getting into painting its the brush size and is the paint wet. History repeating itself!! Maybe I'll stop painting because I don't know what brush is being used or watch loads more youtube videos....or maybe I'll take a general pointer from this video and go and try different brushes and wet and dry backgrounds and discover for myself - that sounds fun. Which takes me back to my photography where I actually only improved when I got out there and started taking lots of pictures and then I didn't even care what aperture/shutter speed another photographer used...most of the time I could pretty much guess correctly by the look of the photograph.
Thank you so much you are a great teacher coz i finally got my drawing up to standard it came out well and you also teach in a very simple but understandable manner thanks again my dear please keep doing your good work 👍
Thanks! I wasn't so sure on the painting of clouds. I'm a drawer, if you know what I mean.. I specialise in pencil drawings and now I'm trying out acrylic in different ways and this really, really has helped me! :)
Hey... Thanks for the video clip. It really helped me, a newbie in painting; in fact, i'm still deciding which to pick up, acrylic or oil painting. Cheers…
I just painted my first cloud. It is far from where your cloud is but I am happy that I had the courage to start in the first place. I enjoy the way you teach, perfect for the beginner. I also would like to know your brush size? Thank you.
I agree: this is the best tutorial about clouds! Please, can you show me also how to make the sun behind a cloud? from the right side? with sunrays? I would be very grateful!
TY for such a great tutorial. I am just relearning to paint again. My problem, I believe, is when and how much water to add to the brush or acrylic paints on the pallet. I think using round tip brushes would be a good choice - is that so? Thanks again !
on another video about painting clouds the guy said to use a filbert brush. He's the guy with a very southern accent, his brush was a bit bent because he said he didn't take care of it. He also used different brushes, like a 2 inch brush and just used the edge of the brush, Bob Ross uses the same size brush and also paints clouds that way, too.
a filbert brush would be good to use, also i bought a 1/4 inch brush recently that is rounded but expensive but great for painting clouds, i think try using different brushes like a fan brush, too. Remember these vids are ok for tips but afterwards everyone will find what works best for them, it's trial and error no matter what these people on these vids recommend.
I really like your clouds. I plan on signing up for your class. I'm new to acrylics and am wondering what brush you're using, a bristle type? And do you have extender in your paint?
Tim it would be nice if you replied to some of the comments sent to you, I would be very much interested to the question from Christopher Gilbert - what brush?, wet etc.. looking forward to your reply
@@sinekae222 Yes, this is very frustrating. He also mentions using "Liquid White" in the video, so I'm wondering if it'a actually an oil painting lesson that is mislabeled, or if he's using a fluid acrylic of some kind. But I've never been able to achieve this effect, and the technique is very straight forward, so I'm convinced there is more to it, and he's leaving those critical points out of the video.
Oh great.I know after this lesson that I wait for my paint to dry a little.e,and use less paint on my small brush.I can paint nice fluffy clouds now.thank you .
u have a pretty hand! hehee....but seriously...thanks for posting. it's exactly what i need. i'm very much an amateur painter and always have problems with clouds and they end up looking like off-white blobs.
Ok everyone, it turns out I had bought a cloud painting tutorial from Tim like five years ago, and forgot about it. I'm re-watching it now. It's not this exact video, but it's similar. So here's the deal: he uses hog bristle brushes, usually filberts or rounds, and he does use a mister bottle to keep the paint a little more workable, with four or five drops of a slow-dry medium in the water bottle.
And as far as this artist not answering everyone's questions....maybe he's too busy making artwork to be on youtube every five minutes. If that's the case,I applaud him!
This tutorial is now 11 years old but I think the best one I’ve seen 👍🏼 thank you!
THIS IS THE BEST TUTORIAL ABOUT CLOUDS, I HAVE EVER SEEN, THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH

It seems so easy. I'm going to try my first painting. I wonder what the result is gonna be. So far I only did pencil drawing :)

In art I’m doing a nice ocean scene with some clouds, I’m thinking about adding a shark fin, but idk. This video helped me. Thank you!
So did you add shark fins?
This is brilliant! I just haven’t been able to paint clouds. Please could you tell me what brush you used? Thank you 😊 Sharon x
