10 people never leave the computer to look outside and see what clouds are. Awesome acrylic painting, thanks for sharing with us via vid.
Im old dear so I do 😊, but isn't this artist brilliant and creating billowy cloud's? Look's like a photograph 😮❤
I don't know why would anyone give 9 dislikes. This is simply amazing.
Best clouds I have ever seen! So realistic and effortless. Thank you for sharing!
some people have a gift of not letting failures stop their ultimate goals.
Some people try painting once or twice when young and go their whole lives thinking that painting is impossible for them, that fed the mind that no matter how much practice you have you will never be good enough, which normally you will see in amateur painters who been doing it for a while for still have that i just learned how to paint style.
Very weird things the mind do... this is great though
Great time lapse, clouds always stump me. Better sound track than other time lapse I"ve been watching, thumbs up for that.
My God, it's beautiful!
I gotta tell you, as a Airbrush Artist.... this video of yours has given me alot of clarity on cloud painting.
Now, whenever I see this certain type of cloud in the sky, I say, "Hey, those look like Tim Gagnon clouds." :)
You have been my biggest inspiration man. Good job.
Really nice...like the flow...and it is good to show others how to fill the canvas, and then layer the color like this....good results!! Thanks for posting...
FABULOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love your clouds! Great work!
Thank you for share your knowledges with us!
A gift? Nay, it is the resolution of hard work and strong discipline combined. :)
anyone can do anything. there is no gift. and nothing is ever given for free.. it takes practice and dedication.
Wow! That's incredible! It's like you can see the texture and dimensions of the clouds! I would try to touch the canvas and expect cotton! LOL Amazing!
I was painting from memory in this video. I just make them up as I go along mostly. Sometimes I'll paint from real life or a picture, but I enjoy just using my imagination most of the time.
gagnonstudio I don’t see the tutorial like for this specific painting.
I'm actually discovering something I always knew I had but never trusted myself enough to go for it... It's beautiful. I love the way you see things :)
your depth perception is awesome. i can hardly stay to my composition.... lol..
Well i class di vinci as ONE of the greats and if you look at his volume of work he practiced everyday and in fact if you look at his codex even tells you that you have to draw and draw and draw to commit that shape to memory...Some may pick things up quicker than others but ALL have to practice to get better and keep there skill level up.
Wow, thank you for the illustration! Beautiful clouds!
brilliant paintung!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think it's funny how there is always four people who 'dislike' something. There are four people who dislike the Beatles on the Apple roof!
Gorgeous!!!!
absolutely nice!!! terrific!!!
The music reminds me of that scene from Dunkirk when the spitfire lands on the beach - oh, and great painting too!
😮 goodness young man 👍 I just subscribed today after one video and now I certainly see why you're a brilliant artist 👏👏👏👏👏 gosh, you've been doing this before I even thought I'd take it up ✅♥️ you're an inspiration dear 🌟💐 greetings from Adelaide South Australia 🇦🇺
AAAWWWWEEESSSSOOOMMMMEEEE!! AWESOME! Beautiful work, just gorgeous!
It's not a gift. It's practice and patience.
Absolutely beautiful... such a wonderful mastery of acrylics... Clouds are a tough thing to paint in fast-drying acrylics, but you have ALWAYS pulled them off nicely.. FIVE (well deserved) STARS!!!
Excellent, my friend
Its not like they just got it or were born with it.They can do this because they practiced - its a skill.
that moves me..it's just amazing !!
In oils, that would be a fan brush dusted over what you've painted. You can try it in acrylics and see how it works.
Not sure if it was answered already, but the song is din din wo (little child) by Habib Koite & Bamada , love that song! What a nice surprise to come across it in your vid! Love your clouds, Been struggling with some huge fluffy clouds in a current painting of mine. Striving for a similar technique. Thank you for sharing, this is helpful! You're very talented.
Awesome painting. Thank you Tim
Stunning!
Excellent work!! I love the way you use the brush.
To see more details, set the speed to 0.25x
1.5 hours is pretty much time but its worth it .....i will surely give it a try
SPECTACULAR ! SPETTACOLARE ! (Italian).
FANTASTIC ! BRAVOO !
Super amo tus cielos!!!!!!!
I paint but I'm very detail oriented, I think that confuses a bit because I have just taking too long.
I loved his work more
put more video ........
If you want to paint then paint. Its a learned skill not a gift. Some pick it up faster than others but if you want to learn then you will.
Check out Bob Ross videos on youtube for some great tips on starting.
i want to try this but i prefer working with oil paint. any tips on that? do you think it would be to hard since oil doesnt dry fast at all?
looks great
lol itunes default music xD
love the painting! the best!
El lienzo no está bien tensado; la arruga de la esquina superior derecha acabará causando problemas.
Salu2
Thanks!!
Annoyingly difficult for what should be quite simple. I think smoke/clouds are the only thing I've give up trying with because I just cannot get em right.
Clouds give me problems for some reason. I guess it's because they don't really have a definitive shape and I usually prefer something more solid and detailed. God, I need to pick up a paint brush again. XP
I love clouds
Nice work. It would be helpful to know what hue or colour you use. It's impossible to tell on different monitors. Looks like you start with Payne's Grey.
Thank you for commenting. I did use cerulean blue mixed with a tiny bit of Payne's gray for the sky, then added more Paynes gray and a touch of alizarin for the shadow part of the clouds, then added white at I moved through the brighter areas. Hope that helps.
@@gagnonstudio Thanks. Helps hugely. I have my own style of cotton ball clouds I've got a grip on and want to start doing more "normal" skies. Cotton ball clouds are pretty and identify the work as, likely, mine but they are a rare kind of cloud, mostly over deserts. Greens are horrible to control Tube greens... dark ones, are not overly predictable so I have learned, from a British painter, to try blacks and bright yellows to make greens. Ivory black in acrylic is a bit muddy but payne's grey and bright yellow makes nice greens. Other blacks will work but I really like Payne's grey. Also... each manufacturer has a different version of the grey.
Beautiful! Quite the talent you have there :)
well, great clouds, thank you.
It's not a gift, it's practice.
Fantastic work!!
When you are painting are you using the wet on wet method? Or are the colors used with a retarder to slow down the drying time to allow for blending on the canvas?
i spent most of it shifting my gaze to the shadows that moved as time passed :D good painting tho
Wow, you make it almost look like you're working with oils.
amazing artists
@TechnusLlamus anybody with time and patience can paint, it doesn't take a genius. i was not born with artistic talent. i don't even think there is such thing as artistic talent.
Came across this video while still trying to capture clouds , can you remember which brushes you used to help create this amazing painting...
I have my own set of brushes that I use. They are round brushes. You can see them here: www.timgagnon.com/shop/online-lessons/tim-gagnon-cloud-brush-set/
awesome,love it.
It would help to know what type of brushes you're using, paint consistency, paint mixing....this is amazing but how is it done?
You can find more on my process at timgagnon.com. Some of my other videos here also provide tips and explanation. Sometimes I just do time lapse videos for fun.
Hello. Please tell me, if you will, how do you get rid of your brush strokes being evident or do you?
From what I can see I can't see any strokes but whenever i paint clouds they have too many visible brush strokes. Any advice on this matter. Also, do you use retarder in your acrylic or thin it with turpentine or water?
Great painting also! All of them really take your breath away!
Can you show or tell us what brushes you are going to be using before you start ? Please and thank you :) it would help a l o t
what brush was used and did you use circular motion to form the clouds??
Are you using a mostly dry brush? Or are you wetting it?
@aniart13 anyone that picks up a brush for the first time in their life isn't going to make a masterful painting right off the bat, it takes anybody time to figure out how. some longer than others, but that doesn't have anything to do with talent, its just trial and error.
Thank you, Tim! You're awesome! Love it xo
Wow, loved it, thanks Tim - very inspirational I have been looking for a demo on clouds as it's something I am yet to properly tackle - I will be checking out your lessons very soon! Thank you!
Would be interested on your critique of my first 'time lapse' painting :-)
Do you soften the edges when you finish it?
What brand of acrylics do you use? For this painting what brushes did you use? Do you prep your canvas, or use as is?
thank u so much for this gr8 video i'm making an explosion scene wid d same technique :')
Excellent!I wish someone could tell me how to use the acryllic painting retarder because I have trouble with blending...
Use golden open acrylics, they already have the retarder in them. Wonderful to work with
Stop using retarders. Use GAC100 and less paint. Paint smaller areas at a time and wait for them to dry before another coat. Too many brush strokes and you might lift the wet paint off the canvas and THEN you have a REAL headache to fix. Use house paint brushes... BIG BRUSHES THAT ARE AS SOFT AS YOU CAN FIND. Don't buy cheap brushes. The hairs they leave behind in your paint will drive you insane.
Lovely painting! Can you please list the brushes used for creating the cloudy stormy effect?
wow. what brand of acrylics do you use?
can you tell me what size brush you use, your clouds are wonderful. im a new painter and i hope i can someday paint half as good as you, great job
you are genious
very nice work, also love the music, who is it?
Great tutorial!!!!
Amazing!!!!
Do you consider cloud paiting difficult?
Isnt this the song that comes with Itunes?
Gracias hermoso !
awwww that's cool
👍🏽🖤
wow
What videos do you have on cloud painting? I can't get a thing from this, you're going way too fast.
what is the title of the music in this video, very nice and suitable to your video. Nice work!
What is the name of the music artist?
Wish i could paint clouds/smoke. Such a pain in the arse.
Can i do this with oil paint aswell?
Yup. Oils are much, much, much easier.
mumba boomba jungle music?
looks unnatural. But it's stil an achievement.
great job. =)
song plz
Love the outdoor setting! Great painting also. Check out my work if you have time. Thanks for sharing your work.
you love drawing clouds, don't you?
@EmilTheFallen I'm the total opposite, i am excellent at clouds for the reason that im so good at blending.

Mozart made his first symphony at 6 yrs old. I don't think he had 10k hrs practice. He is a poor example.
I did one of these on my channel
