And you can also see a lot of V8 powered vehicles to try to compensate for the absolute lack of any kind of driving skills and even worse yet, the most basic how-to of any four wheeler that adventures into sand; lower the tire air pressure. I mean COME ON!
Run 10 to 15 lb of pressure in your tires and it should just drive right over the saint with no problem. Dropping the air pressure that low actually gives you more traction on the sand. Less of a possibility of getting stuck
Fraser island used to be a fantastic place. I got around it for years in a series three landrover with about 80hp, no problems. Now it is just a sand pit for clueless cashed up bogans to show off there lack of offroad skills. Shame.
Easy to see the smart people who let their tyres down; they just cruise by, regardless of vehicle type or tyre size. The ones that have no clue are bogged. And yes keep spinning your wheels so you can rest on your guts.
I had seen all these types of vids before I went to Fraser so I was expecting it to be really soft but after going there I realized it's just the drivers. I'm pretty sure I was the only person who aired down before leaving the barge
It's funny how some trucks, totally stock rigs, just cruise by effortlessly over the sand and others just seem to get sucked down into it. Is it the truck or the drivers attitude??
There's literally only one thing on sand - tyre pressure. The people floating past have their tyres down low. My 80 series is loaded extremely heavy and I have never once been bogged in sand and I've driven it all from sand dunes in Tassy to the Simpson Desert all the way over to the Canning Stock route and Lancelin Dunes. Comparatively to some of this places Inskip is a walk in the park but you have to drop your pressures and not just a little bit either...start at 18 and go down from there.
Tony Stephens Yeah. The unfortunate thing is there were two the same colour as mine. Embarrassing! This place never ceases to amaze me with incompetent drivers
If you give any of this clueless drivers paddle tires they will bog down even worse. Paddle tires require specific tire pressure depending on the vehicle used and momentum, plus a lot of power.
a few get bogged... the track gets cleared and dozens just idle past. work it out fellas it ain't the soft sand. its soft tyres. just let your tyres down and on your trailer too.
@Hooha888 meh im sceptical, the purpose of letting tyres down is to spred the load and creat a larger footprint like you say and reduce wheel spin there for digging a hole. there is no driving force from the trailer. cant see it really mattering. if it does its probably very minimal. once your moving I cant see how it digs in. maybe if you've bogged and come to a complete stop the initial take off might drag the trailer causing it to create drag.
@Hooha888 perhaps, how ever I think it would have the reverse effect, you've created a larger surface which is dragging more. what causes you to bog? wheel spin, not necessarily tyre pressure. there is no driving force there for no wheel spin, lowering the tyre will create more drag. like sitting on the back with a 265mm stick in the sand vs a 285 ( tyre pressure lower ) you're gonna drag more the lower it goes. I understand what your saying with the wheel spinning slower but where talking about 35psi not 60 etc. either way its my bed time :)
@@adambennett1193 nah your wrong mate. Can tell you from experience. Not letting your trailer tyres down is the equivalent to towing a 2t anchor through the sand (assuming the trailer is 2t of course) have to let them right down too or else you aint going nowhere fast!!!!
I agree with you Adam, if the tyres are sized for Beach Driving. I have a 1200Kg trailer that we have taken to Fraser and it runs effortlessly over soft sand at full Hwy pressures 25psi. It is tandem axle non load sharing and is fitted with 4 31X10.50 R15s . Yes, way over spec as far as load charts etc etc. But at 25psi they sit with the correct bulge and no signs of uneven wear. However while the theory is correct, if your tyres are only standard road going { small in diameter and narrow } then it is necessary to deflate them, but its a fairly easy and inexpensive exercise to modify a trailer and have it complianced. Aim for between .12 and .15 of a square metre of tyre area per ton gross weight, most trailers are around .075 . The fuel savings on the beach are good but its even more satisfying towing it past someone who is stuck & no doubt has a higher tyre pressure than their IQ level. For anyone who doesn't believe Adam get a bag trolley, put 35kgs on it, & pull it across some soft sand, now let the tyres down till they bulge like you would have your trailer tyres and try it again. And could someone please tell me why the yanks who don't even use the metric system still try to insist that we spell metre their way via spell check.
P. K. You can do if you like, but soft sand is about low pressures and keeping up momentum. So I use 4hi majority of the time, 4low in second for getting up a dune to your camp spot
Some of those guys need to just stay home & play with toys in the sand pit. I’m normally a really good person but I’d struggle to help them burn my diesel & risk damage to my vehicle for a total dickhead.
Wouldn't it make sense for someone to put a sign at entry to beach, lower you tyre pressures to avoid damage to your vehicle and the environment? But then we wouldn't be able to laugh at these muppets!
'Inskip Point' where you can see the largest collection of clueless 4x4 drivers in the world.
Not wrong there, Mike! They are Bloody clueless. Why is it none are using a snatch dampener?
Mike Fish and you must have forgotten you were clueless at one point yourself!

@@romeehoe You need to learn the basics BEFORE going into terrain like that. A lot of people in the video don't know even the basics

sitting there watching the 'terrorists' is a favorite past time for locals. you see some funny shit. Cheers for sharing.
@BoRhap no, lol. Have you seen the way they 'drive' lol

Is tire pressure still a secret? Let’s keep it that way. It’s hilarious.

"Put it in 4 ya dickhead" 😂 best one yet !!!
In the midst of chaos at 6:05 a Prado silently and effortlessly goes across the screen 🤣
Is this where to go to get away from it all LOL
I run thru the sand dunes here at 8 PSI and don't even need to put in 4 wheel drive.
How there aren't more accidents in that spot I do not know
To busy for my liking....power is not the only solution to sand driving....😎
Weird how heaps of vehicles just roll through like nothing then all these others get bogged to fk.
Why would you tow him further into the sand. He really needs to go home
I USE TOO GO THERE IN 2WD RODEO 7PSI IN STANARD LIGHT TRUCK TYRES NEVER GOT BOGGED LOW TYRE PSI IN SOFT SAND WHY CAN THEY NOT GET IT
I had seen all these types of vids before I went to Fraser so I was expecting it to be really soft but after going there I realized it's just the drivers. I'm pretty sure I was the only person who aired down before leaving the barge
What did you lower your tyres to to?
what's up, don't they air done enough, Also I never see Jeep wranglers out there.
i went there recently in JK Wrangler, NO problem whatsoever! 15psi hi range 2nd gear. a wrangler went through at about 4.11 .
Is this where Ford stores all their rangers
So many people! Was this Australia day long weekend? Or was there a delay with the barge?
This was the day after Australia Day! Absolute chaos! Haha
Australian flags increase chances of getting bogged by 30%

@Dave D , oh you're so funny.
Nobody run 37's in this part of the world ? Lots of good looking rigs with tons of mods and nobody seems to run bigger than stock tires ?
Panas RSM its hard to legally fit 37s in Aussie
beaches are just too accessible to everyone now. need some hard tracks before the beach to deter some people
come on colorado guy.. your driving skills making the colorado look bad.

do u guys go down for the day to just to film this lol
Clearly a boring place to live.
Can someone please get some sand Padles ..... They really work for terrain like this...
If you give any of this clueless drivers paddle tires they will bog down even worse. Paddle tires require specific tire pressure depending on the vehicle used and momentum, plus a lot of power.
Sand paddles are not required if you use your brain.
a few get bogged... the track gets cleared and dozens just idle past. work it out fellas it ain't the soft sand. its soft tyres. just let your tyres down and on your trailer too.
why would the trailer matter? there is no driving force its just floating above the sand?

P. K. 16-18 psi
45-50....then you to can dig a few holes....:-)

Don't know what's better.. showing off or getting stuck
Rob Harp option 3
Showing off and then getting stuck

What Hilux? That's 2 Holden colorados and a ranger at the end.

What a comedy show
Embarrassing to watch, just leave them there for a while until they do that magic thing #1 tyre pressure #2 turn off traction control #3 momentum
Hi all what Amos is suggesting is correct, but there is also #4 after
watching the video some do it and some don’t and those that didn’t well.

play with toys in the sand pit. I’m normally a really good person but I’d struggle to help them burn my diesel & risk damage to my vehicle for a total dickhead.
I would feel so embarrassed getting stuck there with all those people watching!
All the power in the world is no substitute for hard tyres.
Dig the dry sand away from the wheels and deflate the tyres .
love it, best entertainment ever.
Passengers out and push?

I'm pretty sure there is a sign there.
Love the video’s
NOTfor me the good days are going & gone so sad for the future .
What the fuck? Was it national yobbo day?
It amazes me that some of these people have a PWC license but know absolutely nothing about driving on sand.
Oh now I get it. *BOG* ans.
it would be so entertaining just too sit here all day and watch the bogans with no idea what they're doing get bogged
Christian Blucher and even more funnier is the ones who sit there all day watching the bogans are bogans themselves!!! 😂😂😂
😂
TAKE LITTLE AIR OUT TYPES FINE MOVE LOT BETTER OVER SAND
You could sit there all day charging $20 a snatch and make a fortune. People would soon learn
I said the same thing elsewhere 😂 you’d be rich by lunchtime
I wold leave hem there
Looks like a lot of people need to lose their 4WD no idea.
Aww those flags mate Better take them off u just humiliated them
So embarrassing to watch. I'd idle through that in 2wd
