What style are the 4 screws? They're not a standard philips style.

Hi Chuck. Nice tip on the glass, finally saw someone with the same problem like I have. My glass keeps chipping away every print that I do, so I finally decided to use the bed plate sticker that came with my flashforge printer. It work beautifully now as I do not have the risk of chipped glass anymore. Anyway, do you know of a way to prevent chipped glass from happening.

Sounds like it's just like computer code, it doesn't have to look pretty to work right :)

This is just a lot of work, and its a temporary solution. Just get a 1$ piece of glass and a $3 cutter. The clamps that keep the bed in place will work to keep it in place.

Glad I could help you out. If it chips on both sides let me know. I know a guy on ebay that sells replacement glass cut to the Da Vinci's dimensions cheap.

I did the same thing but just be aware that bed heating time will take longer

+Dr.Buddha I'd like to get a piece of replacement glass. Could you please link to the eBay seller ??
BTW... I'm sure there is a way of using a replacement heater and glass from another 3D printer manufacturer. I'll just need to do the R&D.

Great video, I do have a question. The glass itself...is it a certain type of glass or any kind will do just as long as i got the measurement right? thanks

Is The plastic tray holding the glass/heater suppose to be flat or concave?
    Cheers for the tips.
I put element onto aquarium lid glass.. Works good.

Hi Chuck. Love your videos and this one struck a particular note. Got a 1.0A for Christmas. Bed started to chip on very first print and chipped more on every further print no matter where on plate I printed. Returned to Amazon after only 10 hours use. They are shipping a new one. Did I just get a dud or are they all going to do this ? I always waited for plate to thoroughly cool and never even used the scraper. Any ideas? Anyway keep up the good work look forward to every "Filament Friday".

+Mike Bates I had the same problem after 2 weeks and about 50 hours printing on my 1.0A. I didn't want to deal with the customer service for XYZ after reading some peoples lack of support and so i bought a borosilicate glass bed with element from ebay. Haven't got around to changing it yet but it is there for when the inevitable happens and the glass breaks fully.

I have the aio. It doesn't seem like glass to me as it now has a dip in the centre. could you give some insight in to that???. I like the idea of flipping if it's possible with the aio. else any other suggestions?

would you recommend changing the extruder to a flexion to allow the Davinci to print other filaments? Do you think its worth the effort and even possible? thank you in advance for your response.

so weird, I use washable glue stick as a releasing agent to help the print come off the bed. I keep hearing people having issues with prints NOT sticking and I have never had this issue.
