To be fair, I even think the Michelin Guide would be interested in this review. Part of their guidelines is service - this place kind of knocked it out of the park. In many cases, the Michelin reviewers will go out of their way to make crazy requests to see how accommodating a place is.
Good point. On that note, most - if not all - good restaurants in Italy tend to apply the same degree of tolerance with cutomers. There are tons of videos online of restaurant staff lecturing patrons about what and how they should eat (usually in a very histrionic way). Those are almost always tourist restaurants, the kind of places most locals avoid like the plague. A good waiter should be discreet as much as possible: ready when called but invisible unless called to a table. To the point that what is considered great in American culture, like a waiter visiting the table every now and then and making sure eveything is okay, here is usually considered as a bit invasive because people here tend to go to a restaurant to have a conversation and prefer to be interrupted as little as possible. In touristic restaurants, it's the polar opposite because for some reason it is thought that tourists love a conversation with their waiter.
I swear I had to pause this video multiple times because I felt so embarrassed as if I was there with Peter and Vlad. An incredible video like always, you guys never fail to make my day better!

I have no words. I learnt so much about Italian food culture in this video, and how the staff must be so annoyed, but they are so just so kind. i love that at the end the prank is reviewed, and the owners and the staff get the appreciation they deserved. this is pure heart, patient and hospitality, they have a lot of respect to "foreigners" who might not know about their culture.

Asking for the can opener really sealed the deal! What a great restaurant. You even got the owner to try the pineapple. He even had to think for a few seconds to give you a respectful answer not to offend pineapple lovers.
Neapolitan hospitality can be so wholesome. I was there this past summer and absolutely loved it! Hilarious vid, I feel bad for the waitress and the manager hahah, but they handled it perfectly.
Everyone who told you we don’t do meatballs and spaghetti is not Italian! It is actually one of our traditional “Sunday at grandma’s house” dish (in from the south and I have seen a lot of friends eating it)

I laughed so bad when I saw the Parmesan on fish and also that clip with a person cutting the spaghetti with scissors (please try this in real life as well) ps: what language exchange platform do you use to videocall the Italians you showed in your video?
I think that restaurant staff was very patience with you because you are tourist in Italy, if an Italian try to ask for something like ketchup on pasta the situation would become dangerous as play Russian roulette. (Ps. I’m Italian Peter and i love your videos even if they hurt me like this one 😊).
You probably got "tourist pass" with many of your requests but still they handled it really well and I'm surprised for that to happen in Naples...I bet in any other regular restaurant they would just deny your request and after you tried the pineapple they would just ask you to leave as well lol.
And actually they experimented it with high-rated restaurant so their tolerance would be even higher. I’d love to watch them do this with lower/lowest rated ones there, would be so fun hahaha

Congratulation to all in this beautiful video! Sometimes (with love in my heart) i can finally say: " i feel proud to be italian". Big hugs from Firenze (Tuscany).
Beside all the stereotypes mentioned in the video, there is one important thing that need to be said, italian restaurants, especially if they work with tourists, will do everything to make a guest happy. Sometimes they'll even give you ketchup for you to ruin your dish! Stomach is yours my friend! Italian hospitality is on a different level compared to the rest of the world, not only the dishes but also the interaction with the guests and the professionality of the workers. Nice and funny video by the way! ;)

I went to Italy last summer and this was my experience. They are some of the nicest and most hospitable people and seem to care more about you just enjoying your food than imposing their traditions on you.
The manager is so CUTE, i loved his reactions when he said “You put the ketchup on za pizza” and later how he spoke we don’t do this for money. I would have instantly given him a hug. Peter, you never fail to put a smile on my face

So called `American cuisine` is laughable. They even stole meatballs, jeez. Thanks for clarifiying.
Everyone working there is awesome and deserves a lot of love.
I was wondering if that's why Vlad kept taking calls. Even he couldn't handle the awkwardness, haha.
hahah same. It was so hard to watch :D still amazing

As italian, I CRINGED throughout the entire video. You've got some meatballs to do this. 😂 The owner and the staff were truly lovely.
As an italian too we could give a f@@k what tourists eat unless they don't force us to eat that crap too. LOL
Thanks for your video.
I appreciate the fact that you underlined how helpfull and positive the waiters and the boss were.
Also the boss reaction is genuine and he so respectfully expressed his views.
Take care.
I am impressed that the owner put his thoughts aside and tried the pineapple with them. He ignored his experience and tried something new in the event his buisness was missing out on a great oppertunity incredible.
" THe ketchup fixed it" 😂😂😂😂😂
😅😅😅😅 I did cry as well

Best line of the video!
the best line was the owner that showed his server that he ate pineapple and he walked off in disgust. :)))
Edit: Correction, when the italian guy said to peter that anything can happen in Napoli, I was afraid for our boys :))
The ketchup part really got me laughing 😂
This 30 minute video felt like a breeze. Easily one of my favourite videos that you have done! I love the style of it and the execution was absolutely flawless. I learned a lot about Italian cuisine and in such an entertaining manner, thank you PPPeter!!!
No :D These were the hardest 30 minutes ever.
As a waiter myself I feel really bad for the staff. And believe it, guests like this really exist
I hope they tipped the server enough ..
The Philippines is pretty much the culinary opposite of everything in Naples. They do all the food faux pa you guys did, and their food is so amazing I happily married a filipina! Ketchup in spaghetti, pineapple on pizza and with cheese, mixing red wine with fish...
Laughed, my, ass off at the end!
You made a great video here. And im so glad you gave the owner the respect he deserved.

my god, the lady was so patient, and the owner was just, the kindest person ever. when someone bought in pineapple into a restaurant in Italy everyone knows they are here to troll you, but he was so calm and so kind to explain to his guest, and even that failed, he was willing to open the pineapple for the guest and even tried it out himself.

You're brave men. The worrying thing is, some guests probably order that stuff seriously! Hilarious but nail-biting viewing!

Omg she was so horrified of having to tell the cook to put cream in the carbonara that she decided it was easier to ask him to cook spaghetti and meatballs 😂
Props to the server lady's patience, we love to see that.

Absolutely enjoyed the different tests and also how you were so kind and “ask sorry” to the guys there
Dangerous is exaggerated, vast majority of crime there is petty stuff, in fact all Italy has one of the lowest crime in the WORLD, lower than Sweden in some categories, and actually HALF that reported in Germany.
@@spaniardsrmoors6817 you are right, I’m from veneto, but I don’t see Naples as a dangerous city or something like this, it’s kind of “common thinking” which kind of sucks, people and city there have their problems, like every other city and people, what I was saying is that thing. such a good video, finally someone experiences the difference between the internet and real life. Most Italians don't really give a shit, it's up to you if you want to ruin your experience as you mentioned already, at the end of the day it's all about the logic of pairing. The owner is a legend like the staff
He got the best Italian restaurant owner to try pineapple on pasta, this is pure gold :D
My bhole was clenched the entire video I'm not even an Italian, also not the biggest fan of Italian food but it was like repeated disrespect of the culture 😂. Mad resecpt to y'all and the staff so freaking professionals and adorable ❤

This is the very best advertisement this restaurant can get, bro. You did awesome. And they indeed reacted very very cool and hosipitable. Definitely would go there, when I'm in Napels again.
I've lost it at "the ketchup fixed it" :D Vlad's accidental genius moment...
Anyway, amazing that they were so helpful, and not visibly judgemental. And the owner is truly a gentleman on another level, respect for the waitress/waiter, too. Must be a lovely place to visit.
The staff and owner were such great sports, loved seeing their reactions.
I worked as a chef in a French michein star restaurant. A customer asked for ketchup. We had no so we sent dishwasher to the local shop to buy. Keep customer happy and good for business.
Hilarious content 😂 please do 100 more videos like this.

Nice and funny video by the way! ;)
