I believe that the crips, came to the youths of that time in certain Era in Southern California, in the crips grew rapidly and drastically. Just like the Johnny Cash, era people say he didn't sing very good, but he came at the right time with the right songs of that era..

    Yes, this brother was approachable. At Tookie's funeral and in the seating area, wearing a shirt, "Crips for Christ," he shared his contact information with me to pass on to a young man wanting to communicate/interview him.
    On the flip side, one day in front of the same church of Tookie's funeral, he happened to surprise me...just asking to borrow a pencil near my yellow 72' Skylark. There was another guy with him. Although our faces were probably mutually familiar, in the street, you never know what may be on someone's mind. There was a pencil in my pocket from just golfing at Maggie Hathaway's/Jesse Owen's/Sportsman Park. Getting that pencil back from him was done with such haste, damn near Bruce Lee like ;))
    By going to Horace Mann and Washington (1973 class) people were always one friend away from knowing somebody affiliated. He and this video intro mentioned people like my friend Buddha. He was a special friend. Even after he became a Crip, to me he was still an innocent boy, whose eyes only revealed that to me. So, other stories heard about him through the years, seemed like someone else. Except for that one time he came up to Washington with...(RIP Brother Curtis.)
    If you grew up during this period, regardless of where you go or what you become, or whether you were on the fringe or totally gang free, the episodes and circumstances of SCLA then, stay in you. Mayor Tom Bradley nor any other adults could image the impact of leaving post Black Panther Party spirited Los Angeles youth so neglected and outlet-free.

    EGOS.....In Tookie book he said any of his homies could have been the leader of the West Side Crips but they were quiet. He also made it clear that the cats in the 80's were Donald's boys and he wanted to be down with them. However he said Raymond Washington and Bulldog approached him at Washington high in 1971. Tookie said They homeboy Clint (East Side Crip) told them about him fighting gangs. According to Barefoot Pookie Bulldog caught a murder in 1970. A cat named JoeMosley told me Bulldog was in prison from 1970 - 1974. Then he started pushin a line with Hoover (West Side).That don't ADD up. Why is there never any mention of Lonnie and the Inglewood Crips who were on the West Side first???!!!

    Proverbs 4:14-22
    Do not enter the path of the wicked,
    And do not walk in the way of evil.
    Avoid it, do not travel on it, Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil, And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness,
    And drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness;
    They do not know what makes them stumble. My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart, For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
