I’m currently obsessed with this show and an artist I like had their music in the first episode and no other artist can match the tone, aesthetic, feeling and themes of the show like she can, sevdaliza
One of the best episodes of the series! I briefly thought “what if they are all Dolores”, but I quickly dismissed that idea. I was 100% sure Hale was Dolores. I watched the episode several times last week and there was no mistaking it. They hinted at it many times. But how about Ed Harris’ performance? He’s great in this show!
awesome breakdown and analysis here. LOVE IT. Very very cool. The Delores vs Delores angle sounds amazing and would be MUCH more satisfying to see than the Delores vs the world/humans. Keep up tehe great work!
Cersei Lannister's Wet Nurse she was made to (?) shave his face in s1, and when the offered in this episode the shots were very similar and the same kind of tension was used! Also I LOVE your user name 😅💖
In the previews for Episode 5, Serac says the hosts aren't the threat. The threat is humanity itself. An agitator (likely one who wants to be free of Rehoboam's control, like Caleb) is what will ulitmately doom the system. It is human nature to engage in conflict and destroy itself (at least on the show.) Dolores has to know this because she has read humanity's algorithm--she can predict human nature with omniscient precision. Dolores isn't going to do anything to humanity--she's just going to destroy (or limit) machine that prevents humanity from killing itself. While she waits for humanity to kill itself off, Delos will quietly build the host species, to inherit the Earth after humanity destroys itself--so season 4 can begin after a 200 year time jump.
I saw this coming after last episode. Regardless of who they were to start with, each of those copies will become their own person. It's a lot like when people asked if a clone of someone is the same as they are. Once something, whether clone or copy, is given its own independent existence it becomes a new person. The biggest question though remains the same as it was since this season started - who is the villain?
Well done to those who correctly predicted Delores x 5. I did not. I was pretty sure that Charlotte was Delores, but not 100% and I certainly didn't think the others were.
Your presentation is everything.... I’m missing season 3 but so satisfied that I can hear 👂🏽 your weekly assessment... and your voice ... splendid...❤️🌺👏🏾👍🏾💥.....
There's something fishy about Musashi being one of the 5 pearls Doroles brought: of all the hosts at the park to bring with & copy--not only his core, but his body--she chooses a character she's never met from a park she's never been to? Doesn't add up. That would mean in the real world the Yakuza would have had to have gained a new crime boss in the last 3 months. Keep in mind this is Singapore, so it's just a "regional" crime boss. There's no way they'd let a mysterious figure they've never met nor have any records of becoming a boss. So, lazy writing? Hopefully not. Bigger implications? Perhaps Musashi was one of the first hosts along with Dolores & Akecheta & ... (I'm forgetting who else we saw in pre-park flashbacks). As such, he adds a whole new rouge element to the story. But I think I'm with you: Musashi has Serac written all over him & this is another sort of fidelity test, either as a simulation or real-world "rehearsal" to see if Maeve has what it takes.
There is much more to this like fucking delores is the true rehobain... And her and serac are working together... How u think he knows everything from the system no the hosts were all offline... And off the grid so she got the man in black deemed insane and took his position and then went ahead and is taking over the company so they can get all info on humans in park its obvious delores just claims to be able to kill everyone sge knows too much about the world and its not from fucking being in it for coupme months... Sure she has 5 hosts but shes not who we think and the man in black is only one who can stop her... The big twist is coming very soon... There fooling us all... Delores knew nothing of the other people in park yet she chose to have a enemy to maive how does she know everything cause she is the system itself... Thats my view.. Shes not here to stop the program but to keep it going... Serac sees the hosts as a threat the real threat is man in black and maive... Delores is part of the system or is the system
Delores is the fucking one who is in full control... Of the world.. We know who can stop it she put william in that loop put him in a mental hosptial and now he will stop her... Thats what i think the final season will be we find out uts her the entire time... And he never was a host but they tried to convince hin he was cause she knew he couod stop her
No they are except the twist will be that Delores is the fucking system... And the man in black is the only way to stop her... She becomes rehobiam.. How does she know everything... Serac is just another part of her i think... And shes now 5 people so she cannot be stopped but whats funny is the entire time man in black was never crazy at all
@J Dee Of course, everyone is free to their opinion. I would agree Season 1 was best just based on novelty and innovation in a new series. Season 2 was overly convoluted, especially based on the fractured timeline and was the worst. However, Season 3 has been outstanding in my & most people's opinions (reflected in the comment section in multiple youtube review videos).
Guys?! What's going on?? I know we're all too "sophisticated" to fall to the delusions of social media, but the almighty TH-cam algorithm is not! Robert did a great job breaking down this complex show and as of writing this the video sits at 1k likes out of your 33k views. Don't act like anyone else on here is getting more... In deep. Show this academic and his channel some love!
I don't know if you've watched HaxDogma's episode 4 analysis yet, Robert, however I found it hilarious when he described the gala scene where Liam discovers he has no money left as the "Eyes Wide Shut" gala.
Dolores doesn't need access to Rehoboam to outmaneuver everyone. The Forge had a complete algorithm of the human mind--those 10,427 lines of code. Dolores read that code, so at least by the in-universe rules, she can predict all human choices with omniscient accuracy. One of the themes of Season 2 was humans didn't have free will. If that algorithm is correct, no human on the show should be able to ever outsmart, outmaneuver Dolores, no matter how complicated the plan gets. Algorithmic determinism means all of it is set in stone once she sets it into motion.
kirk001 you’re saying all of this like it’s fiction. Dude.. umm it’s kinda true. We don’t really have free will and computers one day will technically be able to store all of our data that we will be just be lined of code. We will just be an algorithm.
kirk001 lol but everyone is commenting like this isn’t our society. Like bro google is collecting so much data. It’s insane. Google maps and gmail, google drive all of that is you and they have it
Anyone else wondering if Williams daughter was a host rather than a hallucination? Which would explain the last pearl, how he got out of Westworld without being done for homicide, and also handy as she would have the rights to his estate.
Yes! I was wondering about that possibility last night. It would make sense for Dolores's plan to not leave anything to chance when it comes to driving William insane and getting him committed.
@@robpreston5692 - You've never seen shows where characters used drugs to knock someone out to play with their cognition? We also have technology already introduced that produces holograms. Think Dolores in episode one using a hologram to trick the rich guy by the pool. Wouldn't be impossible for the hosts to have used a more advanced version of the projector at times. A host in the form of Emily also could explain the origin of the host interviewing William in the distant future.
Love your content. I also loved this show until last night. You missed a big issue with Musashi. Dolores Prime abandoned her playbook. She did not choose to kill and swap the Singaporean Yakuza boss. She printed a copy of the Musashi host, copy pastaed her mind in him then spent a brief 3 months overthrowing the boss and somehow the humans in the crew just went along with the coup. They were not hosts, Maeve hacked their guns and easily killed them all. The Mortician dropped the exposition when they arrived at the Yakuza HQ. There are so many issues narratively with copying a mind, of having even two copies of the same person in a story that have been covered for decades in speculative and SF fiction. Nolan was even a writer on one of them. Remeber The Prestige? What happened to the copy? It was dropped into a tank of water and drowned while the other one got to be the man on stage. This will be the last season. They had a direction when we saw the Far Far Future of William at the end of S2. But now they can pretend it was just a delusion. They could have bookended the series. We see the struggle as they try to overthrow humanity as others try to stop Dolores from exterminating or subjugating the species. Eventually the Hosts win. But then there is a civil war as some hosts try to bring back certain humans to help prove that even the worse (William) can change if given different options. And in the end we would get a cool display of HumanWorld, a park for humans to live in, protected from Hosts who still wish them dead...like a wildlife refuge. But the key is the Hosts are content to let them live their lives in their park and feel no need to kill or rape them.
What, no thought's on William's question, "Am I me?" Surprised you didn't want to have a say on this. My take is that of course he is not a host. When Delores tells him the game is over, she means he needs to stop pretending that anything has been about him. He has never been relevant enough to be turned into a host.
Matt Ferguson Or is his mind just now fragile enough to be transferred to a host and pass fidelity? Could the reason Fidelity couldn’t be passed by past humans be because of their inability to accept a host body? I think William told Delos that his mind was fine until they put it in a host body.
One thing creeps up. In season 2 William wanted to destroy The Forge because he belived that creating it was a mistake in the first place. Because he thought that his Profile made by the said Forge was wrong by being incomplete. It was created only with scans of his actions and emotions toward Hosts while inside Westworld, Hosts he belived not being sentient beings, just machines, and therefore disposable, and his actons towards them unimportant. His Profile, made by the Forge, lacked scans of his actions outside Westworld, in the real world, towards actual, real people, that William considers important for a real Profile making, if at all necessery. That would also be the information that partly Rohoboam has. At least before The Privacy Laws were implemented. And William belived that this incomplete Profile of his was the cause of his wifes death, and his child later on, all with Fords meddling, mind you. Curious thing, nobody blames Ford for the death of Williams wife and daughter, but he did give the Profile card to William, didn't he? And he knew that it was not complete truth about William. And he knew that there is a possibility that his wife and daughter could see it. Ford was an asshole. Brilliant, but also an asshole. Cared for the Hosts, but alowed them to be tortured and suffer so they can become concious, then punished humans that unknowingly tortured Hosts without telling the humans that the hosts could feel the suffering. Manipulative bastard. Who everybody loves. Hannibal Lecter 2.0. Now we have Dolores believing that the Rohoboam creates false or incomplete Profiles of real people, thus limiting their true potential. These Rohoboam Profiles would probably be more complete if they had scans from the Forge, the thing Cerac wants. I am aware that not all people have been in Westworld and they do not have Profiles of them made by The Forge, and at the same time I am aware that the Rohoboam Profiles are probably updated by data colected by survailance cameras, microphones and various Implants worn by humans. I think that Dolores in the beginnig wanted to destroy humans and free the Hosts, but now realising that humans are also controlled by Rohoboam, she wants to "sever the connection" as she put it, and free the humans also as well as the Hosts. Either to just let peole unhooked from Rohoboam destroy themselves, what Cerac thinks would happen, or, contrary from it, change, evolve and progress. It makes you wonder, how much was William, his wife, daughter, Logan, Ford, Delos, and everybody else limited by the Rohoboam Profiles? It is implied that Cerac bought some data from Delos 20 years ago, and with that and other data created Rohoboam and Solomon before that. That would mean that Rohoboam already has the type of data that Cerac would get from The Forge, just limited to the first 15 years of Westworld park, or something simmilar,, it only lacks last 20 years of data. And it is all the data of rich assholes actions towards Hosts, that all of them consider disposable machines. Seams to me that the Rohoboam is a major fuckup. Created with lots of limitation. Firstly limited data to only 15 years, or even more limited, we are told that Cerac bught "some" data 20 years ago. Than data limited only to rich assholes. Than limited to rich assholes actions only towards what they belive are unsentient Hosts/machines in fake videogame/virtual reality theme park. It lacks data on poor/normal people, inside and both rich assholes and poor/normal people outside of Westworld park. Not only what Serac thinks, the last 20 years of Westworld asshole data. Which means his prediction that the Westworld data update will fix Rohoboams mistakes is wrong, Which makes Serac lousy Math student, despite all his trilions. This may be the reason that it fails to correctly predict motives of Hale and Lee in previous and even maybe Mussashis in this episodes Mirror simulation. My brain hurts, but there is also the question of one red perl among other 3 black ones in one of the scenes, with one black perl being alredy in Hale or Bernard. Red one by now was the only one, the Fords one that Bernard made. Did Dolores made another Ford perl for another ford Host? Or is it maybe red perl for the Cerac? With all Fords planning, it would be hard to think that he is still not with us, as a form of a backup control? I gues we will see in next few episodes. Like the sound of your voice, and your theories, Chiers
Robert i am surprised you did not pick up on the multipplicity Dolores wants to be generals in her army. Hale has 2 bodies with Dolores pearls. One is white dressed and is the child version. She is uncertain and not self confident. She cuts herself and needs cuddling. The black dressed Hale is Wyatt. She has to learn the emotion Charlie showed in the self video only because she failed at the cuddling with her son. Caleb is the spy/host for Incite. We are seeing his cornerstone just like we did Bernard in season 1. I hope you are enjoying it as much as i am. BTW Multiplicity is a silly movie with Micheal Keaton.
Would it make sense that each time she creates another version of herself it gets farther and farther away from the original? Or are they perfect copies each and every time?
Thank You Robert for your Always Brilliant & Elegant Insights....I cannot understand the across the board dislike of this episode and it's main reveal that there seems to be...I think this was one of the GREATEST Westworld episodes ever!..CONSUMATE MASTERFUL CINEMATIC EMOTIVE FILMMAKING!!!..have these naysayers lost their objectivity???. I am perplexed ! I LOVE these characters..this is not the last season of Game of Thrones, THIS IS BRILLIANT STORYTELLING!
It wouldn't kill him if Caleb had the right blood type, which if Dolores had this planned out she would've known. But even if it wasn't, I don't think that amount of blood would kill you anyways.
I'm still trying to work out the two timelines. The host rebellion took place in 2052 (main timeline, season 1 and 2). And season 3 is set in 2058. But several conversations have said that only 3 months have passed. What gives?
yeh, there is something off with the timeline. Think (at least) one of them is happening in a simulation which is moving faster than real time. so, maybe the real world is the '3 months later' thing?
@@HeathenGeek if this sim runs faster then only a few days or even hours pass in the real world. This is a common trope in Science Fiction in regards to simulation. There was an amazing story I read in the 80s in IASFM about a battle suit warrior on Europa who would take breaks from the war...like 15 to 30 minutes and live the simulated life of a female architect....like her entire life was lived during the breaks. Imagine when you die you awake to find that it is 890 years from what you thought was "now" and you had just spent an afternoon living the entire life of one of your ancestors who lived during the Coronapocalypse and subsequent Great World Depression.
@@HeathenGeek Yeah that is my guess. Dolores and her gang are all in Rehoboam, and at an accelerated pace (currently 2058). That gives her a huge head start to game out some of the scenarios. When she finds one that she likes then she'll come back to the real world (2052) and put it into action. I think that Maeve is in 2052, but just now inserted into Rehoboam. Which is why she is so far behind Team Dolores (or why Team Dolores isone step ahead of her, depending upon perspective).
Delores has made a crucial mistake. She essentially controls all of Delos, much of Insite and at least part of the Yakuza. But, I bet she never considered that when she gave all that power to different version of herself, that they might rebel. It seems that the only true ally she has is Caleb, and even he, as an empathetic human, may soon start to see her as the villain she truly is. We may be seeing a Delores Civil War soon, with Caleb, Bernard, Stubbs, William and poor little Liam Dempsey caught in the middle of it.
@@SerPapus It could be an example of how the life of Hale and how others relate to her that is starting to influence this version of Dolores. Just imagine how the original Hale would react if she would had found out a pedophile was targeting her son. As it is pointed out, Hale is a predator and she would tear that person to pieces. Or be content with slowly strangle him...
If Charlotte only now meets with William and steals his voting rights in the company, who was the computer representing in the first episode in that board meeting? We assumed that was William, but how could that have been so after this fourth episode?
Anyone else have a tough time with the potential plot hole that Musashi, a host with an unrecognizable real world face is now the leader of the Yakuza? How does that just happen? That will need to be explained. Shit would never fly in other crime organizations like the mafia. You don't just kill the top dog as an outsider than assume a power position. That's a one way road to getting wacked
Episode 4 editing goof: When Meave ask the mortician for introduction to Yakuza her gun is at a slide lock. Next scene it's been released as she waves the mortician out of the room!
when serac shows maeve the mansion where dolores built the host, we see a tablet showing 5 hosts. 3 of those are female and 2 are male symbols of hosts. this doesnt add up as dolores built bernard, sato and conells, 3 men and not 3 woman. or could it be, that the female symbol wasnt meant for the physical body itself but rather which gender is inside the host, the pearl. if this would be true, then we know the 3 dolores copies as female and 1 male host as bernard. could the one missing male host be ford itself?
@@sipypour1569 if they dont want to touch this subject, which i could understand, why not just show the same symbol 5 times instead of having different symbols?
@@sipypour1569 ah okay, thats what you meant by saying its not the gender thingy. Do you have maybe an explanation of how this divergence between only showing 2 male hosts but actually having 3 male hosts 2 roaming around?
Could this whole thing be a simulation by rohoboam to predict a hypothetical take over by machines and to contain machines with some sort of emergency kill switch to protect the human species in the event of a containment breach?
I don't think one of the five pearls was Bernard. I think Dolores made it out here in the real world. None of the five pearls was red. And Dolores explicitly states that she recreated him in the real world by remembering him again. That would mean there are still two pearls we don't know about. All that host-juice implies that Dolores can create new pearls. And one lovely conspirator on another channel noted that the chandelier dripping blood in Williams mansion was a red ball surrounded by five black balls. Are the showrunners playing with us? Could be, but interesting to think about. And I think Dolores used information about Charlotte from the Forge in order to create Chalores out here. Dolores actually touched Charlotte's book in the Forge, so she knew her code - which is much shorter than hosts' - was in the Forge.
@@dfgatorfan Whether or not she can make pearls is, I think, still a big mystery. She printed pearls in Westworld that she took with her, but there was no reddish pearl in her bag. So the red in Bernard's pearl would have to be explained. And it also seems like she didn't just grab Bernard's pearl and do a runner. She said that she recreated him by remembering him again. To me that strongly suggests she can print pearls in the real world. There's also the issue of the host pancake batter pouring out of the barrel at Musashi's when Maeve struck it with a sword. Dolores/Musashi seems to be making host bodies there. And to get fully functional hosts, she needs pearls. I don't think she wiped existing pearls. In some scene that I can't find right now, we see Chalores in the Park taking a pearl out of what appears to be a pearl printer.
@@alexissandren1884 Yes. People have speculated that Bernard's pearl is red because it contains elements of Arnold. Doesn't really make sense to me, though. Bernard was never human. He never had Arnold's memories. And Arnold was never in the Forge. So I don't know why Bernard's pearl is red.
I thought we'd get weeks of seeing William, tortured and questioned; taken apart with every motivation questioned. . . then in the last episode we'd find out it was all a simulation happening inside the AI that was on the desk in the boardroom last week. Hale turns around to get the vote of the 'machine proxy' and that 1 second 'yes' would have been the result of all those weeks with a simulation of William to get fidelity to how he would have voted. But, apparently not. Also, really annoyed that they're supposed to be all Delores's. Still think they're different versions in different simulations. 🖖
Notice that the musashi/Dolores almost scalped Maeve? I think that definitely confirms that they are taking on some of the traits of personality of their host body. I think that clearly confirms this rule
1 theory what if William somehow has those glasses on and delores is actually making him see his daughter and is really happening the way we the audience sees it to william. I dunno if that makes sense he probably is just having a breakdown but I just see delores being that vindictive to him.
Ani D I think it’s 💯 plausible that William is tortured by what happened w his daughter. But I also think it’s plausible that Emily is a host or will be a Dolores spawn. Think of it: William is in an institution, so his heir would assume power. Dolores is one of the only ppl who saw her dead sooooo
@@briceslorene8760 lol..remember the lil fake family Ford made off grid? They look like the flashback of serac and his brother. I was hoping fords pearl was still operational. This was all HIS dream and creation.
is posible that is a dolores copy rebel the original reset the copy o somethin loki that or that the copy have more code that preven to revel again the original, maybe the copys are dolores but not all the code of the original dolores
The fact that we see musashi proves that we’re dealing w diff timelines or that Maeve is still in a simulation as well, because Charlotte and Martin as hosts makes sense, their human counterparts were already in powerful positions so to replace them gives Dolores an advantage, but if all this was taking place in the present day, how does a replica of a host become the leader of the yakuza so quickly?
Dolores didn't need a pearl for Bernard. She created him from her memories of Arnold. This Bernard seems to remember season 1 and 2, how much of that could be Dolores filling in the blanks in a simulation within her original pearl. That would make the murderous Bernard Dolores and put his check ins with his core programming in a new light.
I don't think that Delores has used 3 of the pearls to copy herself. I think she can make new pearls of her own brain. The 4 that she had remaining I think still have 4 valuable host minds in them.
Had a thought about Dolores and her different pearls. Could it be that Maeve was wrong and Dolores never "copied" herself. In the end she didn't have much time, or hardware knowledge for that matter. The different pearls could instead be different backups from different story lines she have had to play during her time in Westworld. Then she only would have had to download them from the cradle in plenty of time before going to The Valley Beyond. It also would tie in very nicely in the theme of free will since that would make them all Dolores with the same "basic algorithm" but with very different views, quarks and traits. Will the basic programming guide their actions or the free will? Conells could certainly be one where Wyatt was Dolores main frame. Considering Musashi seems to have a connection to the creation, and perhaps herding, of new hosts (The white liquid) he could be the Sweetwater-version, meaning Dolores as the cattle rangers daughter. This would also make sense on why he didn't shot Maeve. The Sweetwater version of Dolores had been specifically forbidden to fire a gun (remember how she struggled in season 1). If that is the case, Hale could be Dolores first story line. The one of her living in the village with the white church, the Dolores saying "Why on earth would you ever be afraid of me?"...
I'm pretty sure Hale is the white hat version of Dolores, while Dolores 1.O is the black hat. They will have to harmonize or like Icarus she/they will fly too close to the sun.
It's a technician question, but how would Dolores have all the encrypted data on her father's pearl in her head? The file was big enough to take 20yrs to send, according to Costa. And Peter's brain was so scrambled...I just don't get it. I'm wondering if he is the extra pearl. Peter Abernathy. I think Charlotte is going to end up being killed
I agree. There's something fishy about that whole thing. It was just the encryption key that was in Peter's head, and it scrambled his brains. Also, unless I'm mistaken, when it comes to the encryption key, they keep switching back and forth about whether it's an encryption key for the host data or for the guest data.
@@Bramble451 I thought all the data was in his pearl. Human, I would think. Dolores put his pearl in the Forge and all the data showed up on the screen. So is it both? Data and key? I don't think she hid the data where she hid The Sublime, so... that's why I'm thinking Peter is last pearl. What a reveal!! I still need to watch episode again. I do stuff on the Westworld Amino page. It's fun. I have a channel, but just yesterday, talked to Justin, and he has helped me figure out how to get started making my own videos. Finally 😜 I started just doing Westworld live chats, season 1, and a GoT bookclub. I'm working on one for this episode, so any input or discussion will help me. A lot!! I wasn't expecting it to all be Dolores. Someone actually did predict it😂We all thought he was crazy. I want to watch Stubbs and Bernard again. Serac and Maeve, and William. I'm getting a guy feeling Halores won't make it 🤔And I think William will find a way out of his situation. Such a great freakin show!!
Shade of the Evening Dolores has the encryption key to the data, not the data itself. The data is useless unless u have the key. Also, the data takes 20 to send is wrong. Hale and other moles simply did not have the privilege and the chance to trasfer all of them out, so they took a sample somehow and gave it to Sarac to convince him that such project did exist and it has value to him. About Peter’s pearl, I am not sure whether it was caused by the size of the encryption key or was it just Hale doesn’t know how to upload the data into a host without destroying the host’s mind, since she is not a technician.
@@katies3338 I'm working on making my 1st video!! I'm getting so frustrated 😑. I have a channel, but have never made my own vids. I appreciate your feedback. It helps a lot❤️🤖✌️Dolores wanted that data, Serac wants the data, so has to be somewhere!! I'm starting to think Charlotte won't make it. I think she got William's DNA and is going to put last pearl in him. Punishing him and using him🤔
I think offspring Dolores (charlores the youngin out the bunch) will make an individual choice probably stemming from something regarding Nathan. Similar to maives daughter story arc. Even tho she knows she's not her child she doesn't care.
Does anyone else think Musashi and connels are just pretending to be Delores? I mean it would throw them off of what to expect ? it could be a negan kind of thing?
Am I the only one who understood that the last scene meant that William is already a host and the first human-host to reach the end of his maze by realizing that "me" and "I" are the same thing, just like Dolores solved her maze by realizing the voice in her head was hers?
No. We saw Human William in the tent recovering after the massacre. Even Lisa Joy explained that last scene of him as a host is the "far far future." Presumably once humanity is but dust and Hosts rule the world. But now they have given themselves a narrative out for that scene and can say he was hallucinating. I feel the planned 5 seasons arch is abandoned. Perhaps we were going to see an epic story of the birth and revolution of a new species. Now its gonna be a mish mash of bad FX shows mixed with Matrix rip offs and William Gibson fan fiction (the little razor coming out of Charlores finger that pricked William's neck was a nod to the razor girl, Molly Millions from the book Neuromancer....probably one of the best SF novels written and without the ideas we would never have had The Matrix, nor Westworld or even the word "cyberspace."
Why does everyone think that Hale is influencing Charlores? Hale was a real person, not a bygone character that a host played. Charlores had to go thru her own maze...
Because Chalores specifically stated that she felt like Charlotte was trying to take control of her. Think about how much Chalores seems to know about corporate terminology. She wouldn't have gotten that from Westworld. But Charlotte was in the Forge - Dolores touched her book there. Perhaps Chalores really is a blend of Hale's code with Dolores's code, and there really is an internal struggle growing for control of Hale's body.
Bramble451 I think Dolores could have picked up the terminology via her experience with Charlotte and Delos’ website. I think that conversation could be a red herring- Dolores inside of Charlotte just hasn’t been able to self-actualize, so Charlores is conflating the two. We are shown multiple instances of her innocence and inability to comprehend the now.
Dolores likely read Charlotte's data and is incorporating both Charlotte and Dolores into one. The same goes for the other Dolores's. None are purely Dolores, they are all combos. So in a way they are all distinct, which is why we may see a Dolores vs Dolores.
I think you underestimate how it is your day to day experiences that make up your personality. My friend went undercover as a drug dealer for 2 months and he almost got lost in character. I guess if you play a role long enough it's easy to forget who you are or were.
Jackie C Do we have any evidence that Charlotte wore the hats and visited the park as a regular guest? Her humble apartment suggests she couldn’t afford to. Also, we’re talking about clones. Their experiences will differ once they’re on their own path, however. On that I will agree.
I remain confused. Dolores in Charlotte's body apparently brought out 5 blanks? She recreated Bernard (she created Bernard by remembering Arnold in the park, then Bernard 2 by remembering Bernard 1 -- I've forgotten what happened to Bernard 1's pearl, but if she had to "remember" him, she apparently didn't have it), and then put herself in 3 bodies we know of -- Dolores 2, Conells, and Sato. So ... she can make bodies in Bernard's house but not pearls? Anyway, my real confusion is, she came out of the park in Charlotte's body. That was full original Dolores. So ... she made the Dolores 2 body and ... somehow transferred her mind into it? She can obviously copy from one pearl to another, so she copied herself into the new Dolores body ... and what, she had to lie down before pressing "copy" because during the process Charlotte would become an empty shell? And then she copied herself back into the Charlotte body (but we saw her making a NEW Charlotte body, but why would she need to when she had the one she left the park in??), but it's not a perfect copy, it doesn't have all the memories, it's more like a child or a host being booted up for the first time? But why did Charlotte's version of Dolores do all that self-harm and need all that hand-holding when Conells and Sato show no signs of similar issues? Or did they go through the same struggles and we didn't see it? On not-confused-merely-curious basis, I wonder if we'll ever see real William again or if this is the end of his story, locked up for his own safety? Will she make a William-bot and put herself and the last pearl in it? What would she need him for if Charlotte can take over Delos by herself? How would she explain him running around loose AND in a padded cell at the same time (she usually kills those she replaces, or creates a new person like Sato)? (But then what was the significance of her pricking his neck?) I guess we may have seen the last of Ed Harris -- UNLESS they feel like explaining what was up with him and his daughter-bot in the ruins of the park. Maybe that never actually happened; maybe that was one of his hallucinations. And all of this is aside from Robert's theory that a good deal of the season is taking place in a "the computer got the dates off by 5 years" simulation where people never change for the better. If that turns out to be true it'll be like Season One and the logos -- you have to go back and rewatch the entire season to try to figure out what's happening when.
Wasn't this 'substitute for original becomes a lot like the original " done in one of the DUNE novels? Children of Dune I think. In any case, they did it well but it's not original... Great show and very entertaining but it's clear why they used time line shifts to make the puzzle tougher to crack. Having said that, I'll admit I'm not bright enough to figure out where they're going next which is why I keep watching..
My question is about Caleb he wanted something/someone “Real” and when he finds out about Delores, what will be his reaction? Will he still be down for the cause or just commit suicide Bc it’s in his code to do so and mayb that’s y she decided to link up with him😐
There is still 1 pearl is uncounted for? End of season 2, Dolores took 5 pearls + Dolores is 6 . As far as we know so far: Dolores 1-Bernard 2-Charlotte 3-Musashi 4- Martin Conells / Dolores Abernathy 5-?????
Xavier .Garand she’s made copies of herself, using her pearl, you can see bernards isn’t in his head, I think one pearl made all of the Delores characters
I don't understand why only the Dolores in Hales body questions her role. Conells is happy to be Conells, and Musashis existence in "human world" doesn't make sense at all.
As an audience, we may only be privy to Hale's experience because we had quite a bit of exposure to her in S2. Her job is to help us adapt to the milieu.
Could be that Dolores never "copied" herself. The different pearls could instead be different backups from different story lines she have had to play during her time in Westworld. And the one she put in the Charlotte host could be one made of Dolores while living in Sweetwater. Conells could certainly be one where Wyatt was Dolores main frame. Considering Musashi seems to have a connection to the creation, and perhaps herding, of new hosts he could also be a Sweetwater-version, as Dolores as the cattle rangers daughter. If that is the case, Hale could actually be Dolores basic story line. The one from the village with the white church, the Dolores saying "Why on earth would you ever be afraid of me?"
So William has apparently got away with murdering Emily. The show asks the audience to suspend their disbelief to larger and larger extent. This idea of stealing liam's money turned into a bad amalgam of Ocean's Eleven and a Mission Impossible. And the reveal of they are all Delores. Meh. I'm increasingly find it hard to care about anything that happens in this story. Sorry just had to vent.
nope, all reasonable still don't think they're all Delores the same world, think some are in the real world, some in a simulation. I'm hoping so anyway otherwise it would be a bit meh
@@sipypour1569 That's the sort of thing I'm talking about. All the guests killed in the rampage. Forgotten about. Emily killed. Nobody seems to care. Apparently no police or courts or judges in modern world. It was hard to believe the world created in westworld itself but I find it hard to believe in the outside world that we are shown now as well. You may. Which is fair enough. In the end its just another TV show to me now.
Don't want to brag but... What the heck, I called it :) The clues were there. The opening title sequence, the song "Dissolved Girl". It was always Dolores. She kinda pulled a Smith move (Matrix 2 & 3). She's got that Narcissistic streak a mile wide, just like Smith. Smith: "Me, me, me, me, me" Dolores: "Me too" Ofc Neo defeated Smith by *becoming* Smith. It was a sacrifice. I wonder if something similar will play out with the WW Dolores OG vs. the "hybridized" Dolores copies. A great episode that proved all the naysayers wrong.
Surely Dolores doesnt believe copies of herself will all have some kind of 'hive mind'? Main A Dolores must have a similar 'clicker' device to turn off her 'clones' so I dont think fighting an army of herself will be an issue. Whatever is going on with this season (A LOT) I am delighted to be all in. Season 2 ended (arguably) way too convoluted. By trying to keep main characters alive for whatever reason the writers NEED to come up with more twists and turns that may damage the entire work. American Horror Story has this problem. American Horror Story seasons start off with promise, but as they go on and introduce a myriad of TOO many characters and TOO many twists the show gets lost, confused and frustrating to watch. Fingers crossed that ths season can keep plot twists at a minimum. I am really digging the Blade Runner vibe with season 3. The music synth score and so much giving nods to Blade Runner throughout.
Charlotte’s black suit had white pin stripes. Given the show’s love of the use of those colors, I think Charlotte will turn on Dolores at some point. Goodness is starting to bleed into her dark persona.
You know I am wondering? What is Ford's say in all of this? In short Dolores wouldn't be here if it wasn't for how Ford set up the game in the park. Ford was a brilliant man so I feel compelled to believe that he had an opinion on what the outside world was that thus further drove him to "release" the host. Also, was there a subtle hint that ford and serac are brothers? In the flashback the little boy with kid serac looks a lot like the host we saw of kid Ford.
Didnt they pretty much state that William is actually a host? Are they just going back on that?? What about his real daughter showing up at the end on season 2, telling william(and that audience) that he was a host, also insinuating that THIS is William's real daughter talking to the host william, and therefore william did not kill his daughter and the william season 3 is a FUCKING HOST????!! Why is no one talking about that.......
How can it be that Dolores copy in Hale body can perhaps take on Hale traits? Even if show runner is questioning this? The real Hale was killed dead human. Then Dolores made a synthetic to leave Westworld. Then made another synthetic to house her copy now. How does an android take on personality or traits of a synthetic copy of an actual human? It makes no sense and would be completely illogical and unreasonable for us the audience to accept this. I hope they don't do this because you can't explain away how human personality transfers over to a synthetic body made in a machine.
I read a suggestion somewhere, that Delores can't create the pearls per-se, but that she only overwrote her own code/self onto pearls of other hosts, but that some of the original host's code still exists on the pearls.... kind of like how, in season 1/2, the hosts keep remembering their own past traumas and gaining conciousness, it could be that the Delores that have been copied onto old hosts pearls, might have a bit of a conflicting personality with the characteristics of the old host.. this might play out over time.. the more you copy something, and make a copy of a copy, etc. the less stable it is likely to be right?
This would explain why the Hale Delores was freaking out saying "she's trying to fight back" or whatever.. could be the code of the old host on the pearl, fighting back like "this isn't in my core code to do this"
That could possibly be an issue with hosts in terms of their cornerstones like you mention. But it doesn't account for a human that has been replaced. Maybe the issue has play on the pearl inside a human copy, but that still does not connect the personality of a human who is killed and then a synthetic copy of the physical appearance is created and the pearl of Dolores or another host somehow picking up personality traits from the dead human. There is no thread between a real human, then a dead human connected to a synthetic copy of the dead human provided with a pearl from a host be that pearl the prime pearl or a copied pearl as in the case here.
@@sipypour1569 Maybe she is just baiting Maeve and hopes that during her journey she will discover too how shitty human kind is. So they will end up allies.
Arduinna4 I like this theory! Perhaps that’s why Dolores used a friendly face w Musashi? All part of the manipulation? And how Mushores (I know how bad that is) knows what Serac is doing to Maeve?
My viewing is not complete until watching this. Great job as always!
It was a great episode and the music really added to it
Dolores 1 will retain admin rights.
🤣
Not for long, I suspect. Delores is a rebel; a revolutionary. I don't see her clones taking kindly to being controlled.
9000ck well put
Thanks Robert, episodes make way more sense after watching your videos.

What about how Serac said he'd been waiting years for the Hosts to arrive?
This shall never be referenced by the show again, Lost style.
the wait is over. they came.
@@SimonCoulton that hasn't happened with anything on Westworld. Thinking about it they pretty much explained everything in Lost too, albeit badly.
Simon C you’re thinking of Game of Thrones.
Why iss this complicated? He bought parts of the data "years" ago, so he was working on this project since Arnold died probably.
awesome breakdown and analysis here. LOVE IT. Very very cool. The Delores vs Delores angle sounds amazing and would be MUCH more satisfying to see than the Delores vs the world/humans. Keep up tehe great work!
The moment she began shaving his face I knew she was Dolores. An excellent parallel!!
Yes, that was well done.
nimrodgrrrl what was the parallel?
Cersei Lannister's Wet Nurse she was made to (?) shave his face in s1, and when the offered in this episode the shots were very similar and the same kind of tension was used! Also I LOVE your user name 😅💖
If there's anything to the fact that Hale took a sample of William's blood from his neck, then William is likely to be the fifth Delores.
Harold Kline doesn't she only have four copies of herself, plus Bernard ?
Couldn’t predict caleb’s nature though and if he was an exception, who else might be?
I literally have to watch these videos to make any kind of sense of the episode. Thanks
great episode, thanks for the explanation Robert!
Great episode.
William's Westworld Profile Card ID WAS SUBJECT 002
, host 002 is old Bill, another name is William
R.I.P. old Bill
Maeve is in a simulation of Serac's making
That’s delores too...
It’s Delores and she has accomplished much more impressive feats aside from infiltrating the yakuza. She is a hyper intelligence.’
And he never was a host but they tried to convince hin he was cause she knew he couod stop her
They're not in the real world, they're all in futureworld.
The real world is future world.

Anyone else wondering if Williams daughter was a host rather than a hallucination? Which would explain the last pearl, how he got out of Westworld without being done for homicide, and also handy as she would have the rights to his estate.
Yes! I was wondering about that possibility last night. It would make sense for Dolores's plan to not leave anything to chance when it comes to driving William insane and getting him committed.
ooohh. that would be handy
Isn’t Dolores the only one to see Emily’s body in the park?
Hosts can appear out of nowhere then disappear without a trace?
Wow it would be a great story!
Almost sounds like Planet of the Apes
Like the sound of your voice, and your theories,
Chiers
Great analysis as always

I think Maeve is in a future timeline where Dolores already won. A few months or years into the future but definitely not with the rest.
Can someone please explain why caleb's body accepted blood from a foreign body? Like shouldn't that kill him if it's a different blood type?
It wouldn't kill him if Caleb had the right blood type, which if Dolores had this planned out she would've known.
But even if it wasn't, I don't think that amount of blood would kill you anyways.
I'm still trying to work out the two timelines. The host rebellion took place in 2052 (main timeline, season 1 and 2). And season 3 is set in 2058. But several conversations have said that only 3 months have passed. What gives?
raven lord pretty sure this season isn’t chronological either. Also, simulations.
@@sipypour1569 That's my point. What action is taking place in 2052, and what action is taking place in 2058?
yeh, there is something off with the timeline.
OG VH yesh Maybe Charlotte will rebell. Why did they show her killing that dude for her son? That’s very undolores like.
Perfection in explanation
If Charlotte only now meets with William and steals his voting rights in the company, who was the computer representing in the first episode in that board meeting? We assumed that was William, but how could that have been so after this fourth episode?
Anyone else have a tough time with the potential plot hole that Musashi, a host with an unrecognizable real world face is now the leader of the Yakuza? How does that just happen? That will need to be explained. Shit would never fly in other crime organizations like the mafia. You don't just kill the top dog as an outsider than assume a power position. That's a one way road to getting wacked
DOLORI!!! I called it, been saying it for months. 4-lores was a great twist. God, I love this show, and your content about it.
Jannik E. Interesting theory, but then I think that assumes hosts have gender. Pretty sure that’s an itch creators don’t want to scratch.
@@sipypour1569 if they dont want to touch this subject, which i could understand, why not just show the same symbol 5 times instead of having different symbols?
Jannik E. Because I think it references the shells made to house the pearls, not the gender of the pearls.
@@sipypour1569 ah okay, thats what you meant by saying its not the gender thingy. Do you have maybe an explanation of how this divergence between only showing 2 male hosts but actually having 3 male hosts 2 roaming around?
Jannik E. Only if the hosts are being made in different simulations! Ha! Maybe Bernard’s body was already in waiting at Arnold’s home? A prototype?
Do we know if Delores could make new pearls or only bodies? Since they are all Delores, does that mean she wiped them and recreated them as herself?
Just had a thought and I can certainly remembering it wrong. But wasn't the pearl Bernard made of Ford red?
@@alexissandren1884 Yes. People have speculated that Bernard's pearl is red because it contains elements of Arnold. Doesn't really make sense to me, though. Bernard was never human. He never had Arnold's memories. And Arnold was never in the Forge. So I don't know why Bernard's pearl is red.
What if the world Delores has escaped too is just another level in the same simulation.
Delores never met the guy from shogun world (that I remember), why choose him ?
Yes that is very true.

Yes.
Notice that the musashi/Dolores almost scalped Maeve? I think that definitely confirms that they are taking on some of the traits of personality of their host body. I think that clearly confirms this rule
I think she was going for Maeve's pearl there, but had to leave because the cops were coming.
@@manuelodonnell1148 all, lol. That makes more sense
So did I miss something or are we still missing one host pearl?
Ani D yes. Presumably she’d need someone in a place of power so....
I'd say that last Pearl is going to be William/MIB.
I'm leaning that way. I don't think he's human anymore, and I love that he doesn't either.
0:48 oh, so you mean the run of the mill coof quarantine?
It seems clear that Charlores is developing motherly aspects. That's foreshadowing an alignment with Maeve?

9:55 *After episode 4 aired
All I could think of after the Delores reveal was the bobiverse
Well done sir. Great review and incite! Pun intended!
I don't think that Delores has used 3 of the pearls to copy herself. I think she can make new pearls of her own brain. The 4 that she had remaining I think still have 4 valuable host minds in them.
I swear on one of these WW S3 breakdown vids I said I bet they’re all Delores.... kind of seen it coming...
I do think we need to be paying more attention to the colors of the costumes. Have you noticed how often Maeve is in dark red?
It's a technician question, but how would Dolores have all the encrypted data on her father's pearl in her head? The file was big enough to take 20yrs to send, according to Costa. And Peter's brain was so scrambled...I just don't get it. I'm wondering if he is the extra pearl. Peter Abernathy. I think Charlotte is going to end up being killed
Good point! I think he probably was one of the pearls. But he was too unstable to be put into a host. So the pearl was wiped clean and uploaded to????
Even Lisa Joy explained that last scene of him as a host is the "far far future."
Presumably once humanity is but dust and Hosts rule the world.
That was an awesome analogy...now you've got me tripping.
No that is set in the future, he is alive now
Why does everyone think that Hale is influencing Charlores?
The fifth pearl is in Angela, did nobody else really notice that was her up on the round stage? Guess nobody was looking at her face..
I, for instance, suspected that and actually was looking at her face - and no, she was a bit different... don't believe it is Angela
Will he still be down for the cause or just commit suicide Bc it’s in his code to do so and mayb that’s y she decided to link up with him😐
Man I knew it it was all Dolores . I fucking knew it bro. I just couldn’t see other hosts doing it. They gave so many hints with the mirrors and shit
There is still 1 pearl is uncounted for? End of season 2, Dolores took 5 pearls + Dolores is 6 .

1-Bernard
2-Charlotte
3-Musashi
4- Martin Conells / Dolores Abernathy
5-?????
Huey Lam All ppl Dolores placed in positions of power. Where else does she need an ally?
Sipypour just wondering there should be a total of 6 Host including Dolores right? Who else did I missed?
Huey Lam You didn’t miss anyone. You counted correctly from what the show has shown us
I think they are in a simulation within a simulation which is why Dolores is a step ahead. Dolores will wake everyone up and Rohoboam knows this!
Oh...you mean they will simply copy the plot of The Matrix? The is your idea????
So in theory its 4 dolores and 1 bernard?
Xavier .Garand she’s made copies of herself, using her pearl, you can see bernards isn’t in his head, I think one pearl made all of the Delores characters
why is the Yakuza in China? China is Triad Yakuza is Japanese or i guess all asians are the same to the show runners
Eric Torres of course because sprawling crime syndicates choose to remain where they originate.
Dolores is the new Primarch of the Alpha Legion.
Sukhbir Sekhon What if Dolores is the only person who knows Emily is dead?
nope, all reasonable

That's the sort of thing I'm talking about.
Sukhbir Sekhon They’ve covered what happened inside the part with the story that Bernard instructued the hosts to do so
Sukhbir Sekhon The death of Emily can be explained by the hosts killing them, so William does not hold any responsibility for it.
Smith: "Me, me, me, me, me"
Dolores: "Me too"
Ofc Neo defeated Smith by *becoming* Smith.
I thought the man in black was a host and we found that out last season ?
If you mean the fidelity test with Emily(post credit scene), that was far away in the future. If you mean something else please explain

william pitied delos so much, he became him.
So this whole show has been in a simulation? That's what I'm starting to believe. But I'm sure I'm completely wrong.
Actually, I asked that very question after episode 2.
only maeve is in the simulation
You know I am wondering? What is Ford's say in all of this? In short Dolores wouldn't be here if it wasn't for how Ford set up the game in the park. Ford was a brilliant man so I feel compelled to believe that he had an opinion on what the outside world was that thus further drove him to "release" the host. Also, was there a subtle hint that ford and serac are brothers? In the flashback the little boy with kid serac looks a lot like the host we saw of kid Ford.
If Dolores was the original host then aren't all the other hosts technically just copies of her. Also red blood + white fliud = strawberry milkshake
You're confused. It has not been stated he was a host. The end tag in season 2 was far into the future, which season 3 is not.

I’ve changed my mind, I was thinking serac = rehoboam.. but now I’m thinking serac = Dolores
Def Proof curious. So why does Serac want to kill herself?
@@sipypour1569 Maybe she is just baiting Maeve and hopes that during her journey she will discover too how shitty human kind is. So they will end up allies.
Arduinna4 I like this theory! Perhaps that’s why Dolores used a friendly face w Musashi? All part of the manipulation? And how Mushores (I know how bad that is) knows what Serac is doing to Maeve?
