The huge monocle was a great gag for Angela, because it's a running theme that she doesn't wear her glasses in Smosh Games videos and can't see what she's doing.
I don't know Tommys improv background, but Shayne has taken improv classes since he was young, and regulary ever since moving to LA - both at UCB and Groundlings. It's indirectly what resulted in him joining Smosh as he was doing improv classes as a teen and some new people joined the class - one of them being a 12 year old by the name of Noah Grossman. They became friends and years later Noah joined Smosh and recommended Shayne to audition too. The rest is history.
So even though their reunion episodes do have a bit of structure, they mainly choose characters and maybe talking points but Amanda did say on their podcast they basically improve the rest. The ultimate audience favorite is the teletubbies reunion.
I recommend checking out episode 131 of Smosh TNTL which is where Gerald Cakes (the character they did the call back comes from). It’s where they connect their bits through out the round while still doing improve. It’s one of my favorite episodes!
For context: the “audience” members (that you always hear laughing in videos) are their crew who often appear in videos and have their own fun dynamics
Smosh honestly never fails to make me laugh. They have such a great cast. Also, if you wanted to watch another one like this, they recently came out with Playing Our Favorite Improv Games like a week ago. It was just as funny. :)
I was aware of Smosh and even watched some stuff after Angela joined because I was a fan of her work with Starkid but funnily enough I just started binge watching all sorts of their content in the past few weeks so this is perfect!
Lovely seeing one of these pop up! Am I delusional or did they start changing the format up on pit theatre after you did your videos? Probably just coincidence but who knows! Feels like it might have possibly been something that gave them the push to change it up (which I feel like they've been wanting to but stuck with what worked). Either way, them trying some new things with the very talented improv cast they have now makes so much sense. I love watching people have fun and talk about stuff they're passionate about!
i just realized i’ve been subscribed to you since your first ever reaction video to smosh 6 months ago!!!! congrats on 6 almost 7k subs!! i absolutely love your content and the takes you have, i’ve always been told id be great on stage but always ended up doing backstage stuff whenever i had the chance. maybe i’ll start taking those statements to heart and try it out sometime
Idk if you're up for it, but I think It would be interesting to react to people who try improv but have no background on it/their content does not usually involve improv (videos like alpharad's doing romeo and juliet with no rehearsal). Great reaction to this one btw :)
I was JUST thinking about you and your content this week i swear to god I wanted to suggest that maybe another fun way to analyze smosh would be through duos! Theres alot of compilations of different duos and their funny moments and i think it would give a fun new angle to breakdown how they bounce off eachother!
Katelyn, have you thought about submitting your channel to Jacksfilms as a creative & informative reaction channel? There's a big overlap of Jacksfilms/Smosh/Dropout fans who I think would really enjoy your content! Since you always credit the original creators & add your insight as an improvisor, yours is a perfect example of a good reaction channel
@@katelynisspooky I forgot to mention that he mostly keeps all the reaction stuff on his secondary channel JJJacksfilms (& Twitch). He calls out bad reaction channels, but he also lifts up good reaction channels to help them grow. I just think your content is great & fits with his brand (which includes improvised comedy). No pressure though! Just figured I'd throw it out there if you're interested
I must say I've been subbed for quite a while because I'm a huge smosh fan, but I genuinely love your analysis and feedback you give as to how you might do things differently. Im not even an actor or do improv but I grew up watching whose line and so many other forms of stand up/improv/theater etc over the years. Deffo agree that smosh should embrace more of this improv side to them, and hit city really helps them shine. I thought it may be fun to compare Drew Carrey to Aisha Tyler?
I would say that shayne does know how to do improv as he is an actor, and actors do have to do improv with a lot of things when their pretending or there auditioning for a role, I don't know about Tommy background but nice reaction

I think Tommy has mentioned improv classes before. He studied theatre I think so it would make sense
"now get a loved one or a husband to help out"
i laughed way too loud at 3am watching that god damn angela is GOD TIER COMEDIAN
BABE WAKE UP! NEW KATELYN IMPROV REACTION JUST DROPPED!!!

Yeah I’ve been begging for them to make another story time TNTL 😭
they released another one more recently: "playing our favorite improv games!"

please do more reactions to smosh contents! I really love them, they're a fun bunch

i’d love to see you react to something from their “idiot’s present” series it’s basically long form powerpoint karaoke
I'm obsessed with this format and I'm so glad you reacted to it finally, knew you'd love it as soon as I saw this video in my feed
As soon as I saw this smosh video come out, I INSTANTLY started hoping you would do a reaction to it!!
In case you haven't noticed, they made a new improv games video you can react to (if you want, of course)
Shayne is a actor from the Goldbergs ,I Carly and dear lemon lima
They made another video where they played all their favorite improv games
I love them all but this episode was devastating for me when Chanse made that sword af season 3 joke, it made me really really sad

I was just rewatching your smosh reactions last night wondering if you would react to the new stuff. Im excited!!
Another great reaction. Was really fun to revisit this video with you.
Guys remember to like! Love the content.

I love hearing your insight as someone who has no improve background but love to watch improve. Keep the videos coming! :)
Really wish you could do the new dropout special "from Ally to Zac"
great improv in it.
I was JUST thinking about you and your content this week i swear to god

@ChaosRaych not something I'd thought about, I've watched a bit of Jacks stuff. I'll look into that, thanks for the idea

I would love to see you react to smosh betrayal legacy , it's sooo funny 😂❤
I know Whose Line didn’t invent any of these games but it’d be nice if they could mix in some new or lesser known games.
You should react to their most recent improve episode from a couple of weeks ago, "Playing Our Favorite Improv Games!"
I would say that shayne does know how to do improv as he is an actor, and actors do have to do improv with a lot of things when their pretending or there auditioning for a role, I don't know about Tommy background but nice reaction
24:38 prolapse
I knew it!
Please react to the smosh Teletubbies reunion
You should watch at least a clip from artist on artist on artist
