Technique is a top, top album. Probably my favourite of theirs.

Song got heavy airplay on 106.7 KROQ here in LA in 1989. Remember hearing it in my car driving to H.S. Saw New Order play Hollywood Bowl in the early 90's. They sounded great. Peter Hook is a guitar God.

I loved heaps watching your reaction Dereck to “Round and Round” and so awesome to hear too that it’s made it on to your 2023 personal playlist!!! It’s definitely among my all time favourite top 5 New Order songs along with “Blue Monday”, “Bizarre Live Triangle”, “True Faith” and “1963”. The synths and beats are definitely so very sick and nasty and the chorus is just heaps dreamy and happy! And it’s such a shame too it didn’t chart as well as it should have, New Order’s commercial success seems to have dropped off a bit after “True Faith” for some reason.
The album version too is amazing as well but the chorus doesn’t quite nail it like the 7” version in the video does! The 12” mix is worth a listen too!
And Technique is one of their very best albums and the first single “Fine Time” along with “Run” and “Vanishing Point” are amazing songs as well!
And New Order used some of the young up and coming models of the late 80’s for the video including Cynthia Bailey who was later on the Real Housewives of Atlanta!
This is a different mix than the original on the album. The original studio version is so much better.

Like The Pet Shop Boys' Domino Dancing and Dead Or Alive's Come Home With Me Baby, this was New Order's reaction to visiting the US to find the radio waves saturated by Expose. You can hear the Miami freestyle sound mixed in with New Order's normal sound. Out of those singles, I like this one best, although I prefer the album version to this one.
They're Balearic beats - from the Balearic isles - Ibiza being one of them. Where this was very partly recorded.
