    As always, great stuff.
    Would you mind sharing sharing more info on the iwasaki file? Where you got it? Fine, extreme fine? Etc...

      Yep no problem, it's a 200mm half round fine cut. I got it from Workshop Heaven in the uk and it cost £29.50 and worth every penny of it. I will have to build a rack for these in the near future as I want and need more...

    Just before you made the comment about the chisel not being as risky as it looks I thought "damn, one little mistake with that chisel, and its back to the drawing board!" your confidence in your skills really shines with those chisels Patrick!

      Thanks John, many, many hours of practice to get there but it's very satisfying once you get the hang of it.

    I love neck carve day.. I see why they use maple as a neck as it is definitely tough stuff vs mahogany to carve.. I really look forward to the spray on this one.. and that new rasp looks great.. love the curve of it and control..

      You can see how hard the maple is on this neck, Mahogany is like carving butter compared to it! The new rasp is very nice, I need more :)

    Bought another japanese pull saw the other day...like their woodworking tools (wherever they are made). Gotta get that rasp you used in episode 10. Cheers

      I seem to have an increasing collection of Japanese tools, I'm thinking how long before a set of japanese chisels turn up!! I can recommend the Shinto rasp.

      I have ash and spaulted maple for a jazz master build I wanna do. Want to use your Bondo trick for making the neck pocket jig for routing. I like that technique!

    looking good! I like how you copied the shape of the les paul neck, that'd be an interesting guitar to play and makes it unique.

    • @Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams
      @Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Ben, I think it will make a good player, I did a 12" radius on my last tele and it's a really easy playing neck.

    I'm sure my mate has a couple of those files, truth is he has just about everything! I've asked him about his will and bribed him with lots of chocolate lol

    I see you use the chisel with the angled side down, does that mean I’ve been using chisels upside down my whole life?

    • @Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams
      @Adventuresfromtheshedofdreams  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No mate, it depends on what I'm doing. In this case using the chisel bevel down will stop it from digging in and taking more material out than I want. In other situations it will be better to use it bevel up.
