Which is why it's good it's a game, that way they can give depth to the story, world and characters in a way an anime never could. No really, even with hundreds of episodes they wouldn't be able to do it cause SOMETHING needs to happen every episode whereas in the game... Well let's just say exploring one area in the city + 1 friendship episode can already take 20 minutes and nothing really happens but dialogue. Which I like but it wouldn't be suited for the anime format. This might not be the most original story out there, but by the intermission of the game (so about halfway through) they already had me caring so much for these characters that that hardly mattered. So I am glad it's not an anime, where it would get buried, but a game.
Over Christmas, I got Trails in the Sky, Ys I & II, and Tokyo Xanadu ❤️ Very excited for all of them. I loved CS I and II, and I'm loving Sky and TX very much. Haven't started Ys yet.
Such a good game! Generic in many, many points, but by being more generic and not taking many risks with gameplay elements that might not work, it became a full package that can be called "non-generic" just because there are such little games that just work so well from start to finish!
The one thing I don’t like about this opening, is that it doesn’t change. You’re still seeing the Witch of the Mist as the ultimate bad guy even when you’re fighting the Angel of Despair, a Grim Greed far above her in power. It’s still incredibly good, I just wish they’d have edited the animation as it went from chapter to chapter.

I love this game! Between Nihon Falcom and Atlus. I would have to chose Falcom because they appeal to a bigger audience when releasing their games on multi-platform while Atlus sticks to releasing their games only on one platform. I'm still waiting on SMT V and P5R but I just think Atlus could reach a bigger audience if they released their games on other platforms. With what happened with Catherine releasing Full Body and then Classic on PC, I think Persona 5 will follow suit and release a Persona 5 Classic on PC.
Hmmm that's only semi true tho. Most Falcom games originally released only on Playstation platforms, and even re-releases are often only on newer Playstation platforms. The reason we get PC and Switch ports is because the Western publisher is funding ports of the Playstation versions. All Falcom does for those versions is provide the code.
Plus, Falcom are willing to vary the boss music as opposed to Persona which only has "Blooming Villain", "Rivers in the Desert", and "Will power" (Not including Yaldabaoth, Our Beginning, Keep Your Faith or Throw Your Mask Away, since the latter 2 are exclusive to P5R, and the first 2 were the final boss)
Played this game years ago and loved it. Finished it today and only now found out there's an additional chapter past the true ending. God I love games like this

Let's just admit that Joker is the only one that resembles close to The Fool (even though if we want to be annoyingly precise, he's more resembling to The Devil or Judgment), Minato Arisato is more inclined to The Moon, and Yu Narukami to The Star. So here's hoping that Persona 6 actually resembles the actual card they're 'given', also hoping it's not an over-optimistic one, we had those for two games now, it would be a good time to spice it up.

J’étais déçu quand j’ai appris que CSIV n’avait pas été traduit en français. La traduction de CSIII était excellente et apportait quelque chose de plus. Je me rappelle bien comment j’étais terrassé en entendant Juna tutoie Cédric sur le toit (alors que tout le monde était déjà si tendu). J’ignore comment ça se déroulait en japonais, mais une telle nuance n’est simplement pas possible en anglais.
@@misterpayah7723 Le jeu a été localisé du Japonais vers le Français en plus par Nicolas Pujol et son équipe. Ils sont excellents dans leurs taff. Le prochain jeux localisé par eux sera Yurukill. A soutenir absolument. Ils ont fait la trad de Ys9 et World End Club aussi. En plus de tout les Disgaea 🥰

I just got this today and haven't had much chance to play it but from what I can gather it's done a lot like persona with the whole school setup and job's and the like just with a YS style of gameplay...at least from how it was talking about it, haven't seen combat yet, looking forward to it though dood. :3
@@walktroughman1952 Conceptually it's built on Ys and Cold Steel. The reason has Free Times and a loose schedule of 3-4 days per chapter is actually 100% because of Cold Steel.
I like when a game has a world where supernatural things happen. I just hope when my game is coming that the mysterious Situation is caused by a supernatural entity and not like in persona 5 just a Person who is mentally ill.
...and it has a large focus on spending your free time. And it has what might as well be social links. And it takes place in a similar time period. And it has social stats (wisdom, bravery, kindness), and it focuses on a team of high-school students one by one discovering their powers and their ability to enter another world somewhat based on human emotions--which normal people don't know about--in order to fight monsters. Don't get me wrong both games do their own thing and are great for their own reasons, but "high-school setting" is certainly not the only thing this has in common with Persona.

After the middle point the story gets interesting, and even some of the characters get better. It's a good game, but holy hell was the beginning painful.
The opening section is atrocious. Let's just call that spade a spade. It does pick up, both in terms of story and gameplay, later on. And wait until you find out who White Shroud really is... Persona 5 comparisons are unavoidable with this game, so: At least with P5, you get an in medias res opening sequence that raises a whole lot of plot questions, followed by a whole bunch of training sequences that ensure that you can handle the basics. TXEx+ doesn't raise nearly as many questions up front, and combat tutorials err on the side of minimalism. That is, however, balanced out by a less brooding atmosphere, and a couple of certifiable surprise laughs. If it were a multi-course meal, TXEx+ would definitely be a case of an increasingly confident feast, after an uncertain appetizer. I own both this and P5R, and I like both games for different reasons.

Watching this opening I jokingly called the short brown haired girl Towa. Imagine my surprise when I actually got to the game. What an Easter egg.
If you haven't noticed, Towa's Brave Order is 九重陣, which corresponds with her family name in Tokyo Xanadu.
Meanwhile I haven't played Tokyo Xanadu and I'm trying to figure out why Rean appears to be the main character here.

Aksys localized the PS Vita and PS4 versions. I just started playing, and the PS4 version is fun and definitely the more complete version.
