    I requested my transcripts from my associate degree with 50 credits be reviewed by WGU. My only hesitation about WGU is I would like to finish with a PhD and wonder if colleges would accept my education there. I'm looking at completing either the BS in Health Information Management or BS in Healthcare administration. I have an associate of applied science from 1990. Would like to complete the MBA and then get a doctorate level degree. I'm 58, so I am looking to wrap things up quickly! Love the content. Keep it coming!

    In the big picture, I agree that associate's degrees aren't that valuable. However, for certain career paths, they are worth it

      An A.A.S. In Medical Lab Technician is very valuable. I’ve seen it parlayed to a 30 yr career where they retired with a pension

    An associates degree can still get you paid more than someone with only a high school diploma. However, choosing between two candidates with comparable experience, the pay may not be significantly different.

    The Pierpont B.O.G Assoicates is the fastest and cheapest. A. Do the ASU 1 credit course titled "Business Technology Fundamentals (CIS 194) it may take up to 6 Weeks to appear on your transcript as an ASU course. B) Because you will probably finish the ASU course in a week but have to wait 2 weeks to get the credit move on to blasting the Sophia Learning Credits. C) When you have completed all of the Sophia and your ASU course is officially listed apply for the B.O.G Associates at Pierpont. Depending on your timing and what term you do this you might have to wait a few months until you have your Associates.

      Do you know what the transcript looks like? I’m asking for my HS junior. I don’t want her to do this next year and her college of choice doesn’t accept the credits.

      @@kshirelle What I did was use this method for my associates degree and then the last 10 courses will be residential credit (residential meaning instructor led) at UMPI. Then on to applying to a Master's program. With that said. I would advise you to contact the college of interest for your daughter and ask them if there are restrictions on associate degrees that have been completed with ACE credits. The other option is to have your daughter complete classes/credits at UMPI (equivalent credits that would be completed in an Associates Degree and then transfer to the college of her choice.) You will save yourself a great deal of money by doing this. The UMPI Classes are online and instructor led which make them residential credits.

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      There are definitely some "hackable" schools that are better than others. I'm a big fan of choosing programs that will get you accepted to just about anywhere. There are absolutely hackable programs that can get you into UCLA.

      @@TooHonest4_Youalso Sonography associates and Radiology pay very well. In fact I’d rather do sonography over nursing since half my family are nurses and they’re miserable, over worked with too many patients at one time, hospitals that only care about their bottom line and all the legal liability nurses may encounter. Sonography is way lower stress and you work alone and pay is very comparable.

    If I’ve already worked towards an associates at a community college will these schools accept my credits?

    • @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671
      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      As long as the classes you took match the required classes for the major you're transferring into. Your "Generals" usually transfer over pretty well. But if you took random electives that have nothing to do with the new major, there's a chance you lose those.

      @9monthcollegegrad-ryansway671  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Tuition is going to depend on how fast you graduate, and the cost of the school per semester. Let's say they charge $3,500 per semester... and you graduate in 1 semester... You get the full degree for $3,500. I generally have most students shoot for less than $10k no matter what... but get that covered with scholarships and/or grants.
