I have learned so much about the sport of weightlifting by watching this channel- and it has really drawn me into learning the snatch and CnJ (and really having fun in doing so!). Thanks for the content man, keep it up!!!

Lijun looks like a natural IFBB pro bodybuilder.

After seeing Huang Minhao do 155 I too was completely at a loss as to why he didn't take 156

Fun facts about Huang Minhao: Minhao switched to squat jerk in the year 2019 or 2020. You can see his lift in Chinese nationals 2018 when he still uses split jerk. The squat jerk emphasizes more technique than strength, which is why his C&J improved a lot this past two years.

Depends on how you look at it. Squat jerk is for people with tremendous mobility and a lot of leg strength. So you have to be stronger in the squat jerk.

Squat jerk suits him better for sure. He is a snatch specialist, so very comfortable with overhead squat position (compared to, say, Chen Lijun). Split jerk requires much more explosiveness which he probably lacks. Therefore, him switching to squat jerk is not surprising.

@@JonathonBao interesting that he beat his PR split jerk with squat jerk after a few months of training. Good move

According to shenzhen weightlifting, squat jerk requires more strength and split jerk more technique. Lu even said squat jerk require more strength in his interview with seb

@@kakeylou Don't get me wrong, I am not saying that they are not strong. Tremendous mobility is part of the technical aspect wise from my opinion
