    That five dollar price tag made me choke on my drink. My local arcade made me pay 30 bucks for my e amusement pass….and it didn’t even work on the game I wanted it to. Granted I’m still happy that I can play project diva and chunithm without going through the tutorials every single time

While maimai(only available in Korea,Japan, China and some south east asia country) require you to play to unlock some song,usually need multiple play so to save those progress u would need a aime/amusement ic card

    Out of all the cards mentioned in this video, only the Banapassports [specifically, their ×××MS1A variants] are currently cloneable.
    This allows for a degree of customisation, such as conversion to game tags.
    I also recently found out the clonable Banapassports are also able to be integrated onto some digital locks, thus negating the need to buy the manufacturer's cards.
    As for collecting all of them, I really want to add the Amusement IC Card variants of:
    • BNAM's Banapassport [the yellow one]
    • Konami's e-AMUSEMENT Card [the white/red one]
    • Taito's NESiCA [including the non-AMUSEMENT IC Card variant]
    As well as:
    • SEGA's Aime [the original black one]
    •AM's AM.Pass [limited edition Prime 2 and XX variants]

  • @Glacier_Nester
    @Glacier_Nester 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    The amusement IC system is a real boon for folks like me, who had to jump through some hoops to even get a Bamco card, entirely unaware of how few rhythm games it works with normally, only to find it worked with the aime scanner for Wacca! Getting to finally get a profile together for a game I'd beeb interested in had me majorly hyped! Really appreciate the detailed look at all these different cards, I didn't even know there were designs beyond the basics.

  • @Hikari0420
    @Hikari0420 3 ปีที่แล้ว +23

    Hi, I think you forgot mentioning something, before amusement IC, Bandai's banapassport can be used as Aime card on Sega machines, vice versa.
    Also, GC machines still haven't support amusement IC cards.
    Other than that, the video is great and clear enough for arcade newbies :D

    • @FNWeeaboo
      @FNWeeaboo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      6:18 I mentioned that they are cross compatible with each other. I probably could have been clearer but I did mention that functionality. As for GC machines I ultimately left that part out in order to avoid making the video dated in the event that GC does get Amusement IC support.

    I’ve done research on the subject and I can say: go after one with the _red and white_ or _black and white_ symbol on either the front or back of the card, the cards with the symbol lets you use the same card on all four services; aime, bandai, emuse and nesica

  • @ThePixelPolygon
    @ThePixelPolygon 3 ปีที่แล้ว +28

    You haven't mentioned that the PIU series is still backwards compatible with the FAT32 USB system, particularly useful since not all arcades (particularly those with older cabinets) have the card scanner installed from the upgrade kit, and it's also a lot easier to load UCS onto a flash drive.
    Other than that, you've once again pretty much nailed all the major points.

    I have all the cards that you explained, but I just only played 3 games : SDVX, Wangan Midnight 6RR, also PIU (which that I rarely played because my stamina is depleted fast). In my country Indonesia, there are less (or almost gone) arcade games that are not rhythm games have online services. Also, extra cost to fly to other island that have more arcade games (the core game center in my country is on Jakarta, Java Island)
    Also, cards that support Amusement IC makes me easier to connected game data with different companies, yay (my AIME card is Amusement IC support)

      no wonder when i searched online store for cards they are mostly from Jakarta haha (the arcades here dont sell these cards and i had to resort, it was around 100k IDR or $8 USD for any card so i just picked amusement IC). i knew some booth on Surabaya and tried my luck on the card, mine worked on the konami games. though sadly the Groove Coaster booth i was hoping on playing got removed and cant test that out x(. so yeah you're right, arcade is dying here and im kinda sad about it. it's already a very expensive thing too, i dont know how will that ever be fixed

    At my local arcade, you can play whatever you want, however much you want. Just pay an entry fee of about $22 (you have to book in advance though), and you're free to enjoy whatever games strike your fancy for three hours.
    The arcade does also sell NESiCA and e-amusent cards for about $10 as it has some rhythm games that has support for them (Groove Coaster and Sound Voltex). Why they cost that much is presumably because of import costs and profit margins, but honestly it's not bad considering that you can play however much you want at the arcade for the three hours you've booked

      @@helper_bot Even better yet, one can buy packs of visits, or entry credit, meaning one can get entries for cheaper. This is only possible by signing up for an account on the booking website, as the credits are personal.
      5, 10, 25 and 50 entry credit packs are available, so it's possible to get entries for as low as just shy of $8 per. Super convenient for those that go more frequently, and the entry credits are valid for 1 year from purchase.
      Oh, and the value really shows when one considers the fact that music games at an arcade usually cost 100 yen per play if not free play like they are at my local arcade. With the 50 entry credit pack, each entry is worth US$7,76, or just shy of 1000 yen (which is what 10 plays would cost at non-free play arcades), and as I mentioned, each entry gives you access to the arcade for 3 hours. One can easily get in more than 10 plays in 3 hours, so it's quite good value

    I have the amusement ic card, which basically works on all of the konami, sega, and namco one. I don't know how they did it but they printed a universal cards! I'd say if someone is able to get that you should since it's such a good all in one card.
    Only one that wasn't support was groove coaster (cuz that's taito and I didn't have to newer gen card when taito joined them) so I have a nesica separately for that.

    I bought an Aime in akihabara back in 2019 and thankfully it's been the only card I've ever needed to use internationally. WMMT, Taiko, GFDM, DRS, DDR and of course the sega games like INIDAC and gekichumai. Would have been a cool flex if the international chunithm cabinets supported, but the chunithm gold cabs got some cool upgrades, those beasts now support paseli

    The only card i have is the AM Pass and all i did with it was register it to my account.
    Its yet to have seen one play recorded on it but even then i do like the designs of the cards.
    Definitely wanna get an e-amuse card even if its highly unlikely i'll use it since there's not a ton of arcades in Canada that have access to e-amuse.

    My local arcade has multiple rhythm games but I don't think they sell any of the cards there, unfortunately. Or else I'd get one for machines like MaiMai and save my data. Maybe I can find one purchasable online.

    I have a regular Aime w/ Amusement IC to play maimai, but I also use it to play with Wangan Midnight. The long time wmmt players were shocked that I use a different card from theirs whenever I play, one even said that I need to "use a banapass just to be safe", even though they're cross compatible.
    My Aime is the Japanese version, although idk if there is even an english version for the asian market, because banapass has, and it has a typo. If you have a red banapass, thank me later 😅
