One thing you forgot to mention is you can get ALL of the nikkes from Liberation, but you just can only progress one at a time. So select Guilty for the most meta unit, and then once all the missions are finished and you unlock her, you can then select one of the other nikkes. You’re not limited to just one of them forever.
At the very least, the tower moulds should be guaranteed... getting an R on the Pilgrim Mould was the most sour feeling I've had with the game so far. Lol.

Reminds me of Artery Gear, but even more complicated. Story, under story is an event, ark, ark has 5 options. Base building with different buildings. Upgrading level, ulti, skills. Equipment, equipment seems to have rarity as well. Dupes, how to get dupes. Shop with 4 different levels. 4 different summoning banners. Featured banner, standard banner, paid banner, and some social banner? Multiple tickets for pulling. It's too much work. I don't want a job, I just came to experience the story everyone is praising, but it seems way too similar to Artery Gear and Punishing Gray Raven so far (I have only reached 3-12 so far).
yeah, that's the thing with many Gachas, they're convoluted and over saturated with too many systems and shit that you have to check and do daily, it makes the game feel more like a chore than something you do for fun, some people will say you "don't have to do it" but then again, they're lying because you're severely handicapping yourself if you don't do all those stuff daily so you have to do it daily unless you want less characters, less weapons, less exp, less items etc. which nobody wants.
Just downloaded, I’m finding all these free rewards and claims in all these hidden places, making you need to go into each cash shop and look at every single tab in order to access the things you should already have. Plus the upgrading system, it doesn’t make sense. That’s how it’s supposed to be so that you don’t realize the ways in which you’re getting blocked from progress so there are as many ways as possible for you to unintentionally waste your money. This is the king of gacha.

I broke the 160 wall before getting to it by using everything on standard, and spending 600 tickets on my final 3 missing nikke's in the shop. Limited banner will just give you all kinds of Nikkes spread around, and you might just be stuck at the wall for a long time. It's kinda rough starting out because Limited characters + Collab units *will* vanish with the chance of never coming back, so you have to balance it with standard pulls to progress.

I've played many games like Nikke in the past decade or more. Every game company will have to submit and falter to the casual player after around 2-4 years of the game's existence anyways. What you're currently working hard for (getting through the campaign) will later be doable in a day's work easily, even hard mode. Resources to level up and gear up will be plenty, far more than now. I hit the first payment wall at around Chapter 10 now, and just uninstalled. Now I am just gonna wait at least 2 years, maybe 4, then come back and see the game has changed so substantially, that progressing is a joke now, and everyone can easily reach "end game" features, where the new payment walls come in. Seen it a billion times before, will see it again. I dunno, see y'all in a few years.
Damn that sucks. I just started playing a week and a half ago and I'm at stage 12 currently. F2P by the way. I came burned out from Genshin and to me, this Gacha doesn't make me want to pull out my wallet nor does it seem like a drag. I'm pretty patient about leveling up so the fact that I can't steamroll through the campaign anymore like in the first 5 stages is fine. I don't feel "stuck", as I still progress at a rate of like a level every 2 days or so. Started playing after the Meta character Red Hood dropped too (which made me go "bruh"), first SSR was Eunwha. She's kind of trash, so I was kind of worried. Thankfully the gacha gods gave me the likes of Laplace at like stage 3. She's not S tier, but she's still like a top A lister, and she's really fun to play (lazer cannon goes IMAFIRINGMAHLAAGRGG). I then got REALLY decent SSRs between stages 5-10. Guillotine (she reminds me of Fischl, and her and Laplace together go BRRRRRRR), Marciana, Centi, Poli, Liter, Blanc, Rupee and Noise in that order. No pilgrims, but the units I got are all S tier in different ways, oh and I'm getting a free Privati in like 2 days 😅 Question for you, I have noticed people having higher commander ranks than me, but they are stuck in like chapter 10 or 11 and lower Tower floors. "How can this be?" I thought. So I got to snooping and noticed they almost always have like a level 120 Rapi, and then like level 40 peeps in the same team. *Did you perhaps not use the *Syncro Device* the way you are supposed to? You only level up 5 units of your best units and keep everyone else at 1. Your also supposed to keep those 5 around the same level so that way you can easily level up the rest of your toons to parity and acutally use them (Unlike Genshin, I also rotate out units a lot depending on the stage. Another reason I like this a lot more). Your also supposed to build stuff in your outpost so that you generate more static mats to level up each day. I'm not trying to make you feel bad, but it seems to me that most people who get "stuck" aren't using the Syncro device and they don't build up their outpost with buildings. Idk, maybe this particular gacha clicked with me. I personally view it as more F2P friendly than Genshin...🤔

I got INSANELY lucky with my SSR's.
