It’s a great game! I got the physical yesterday. A slow start but once you get to change classes it really picks up. The main story is getting more interesting and there’s been a few surprises. The World is a joy to explore as it’s so beautiful. Side quests are a bit of a let down, though , and are pretty uninspired so far, like FF16. But overall, it’s a wonderful JRPG, and a return to form for secret of mana. I’m in Japan, too btw. Right now the typhoon is hitting so staying inside.
Just read about it apparently NetEase is cutting down on workers from Ouka Studios with a probability of shutting it down which is just sad specially its on the release day of their game.
I was gonna buy this but now that the devs are gone, I'm just gonna wait until it's on sale. I'm not paying £50+ to a publisher that treats their developers like that.
Eh, Ouka Studio is under NetEase, not Square Enix. It is kinda unfair pinning the blame on Square Enix for NetEase's bad practice. If anything, Square Enix is also a victim: shutting down Ouka Studio days after the game is released not only hurt the staff who gets downsized, but also hurt their client as customers become wary of the product and may misunderstand it is Square Enix's fault and don't want to buy it.
@@durandarte I know that, it was a big Chinese company like Tencent or whatever that has slowly been pulling out of the Japanese market a it makes them less money than seeing mobile slop in their own country.
It's funny to see him talking non-stop, completely uninterested in the story and only complimenting the VAs, Squarenix really doesn't know how to advertise... lmao
@@makasete30 Ahh I see much appreciated mate~ So the story aren't connected just cameo and stuff? thinking of grabbing the game but I remember theres also Trials of Mana so not entirely sure if I'll miss anything from buying this first.
@@miirico5398 yeah, exactly as you said. Things like the Mana Tree and Mana Sword return and are important to the overall story but there is no connection to the stories of previous Mana games. Characters like Flammie and rabite monsters also return and have various significance to this game but again, no relation to previous entries. . There is the ring menu which the SNES Secret of Mana game popularised. Basically, lots of Easter egg stuff for fans of the series but doesn’t affect the enjoyment of newcomers. The story is self contained and its own thing so you don’t need to buy any of the previous games or know anything about them.
The sound is an issue with the PC version strangely enough with some people. There's no issues on PS5 and there's little sounds that come from the PS5 controller that are fun I think.
Was looking forward to playing the next Mana with wife, they opted not to add multiplayer. Cant bring myself to buy it, not a fan of making mana a single player only experience.
When you really think about it...This is a Very weird/f***ed up premise for the game, Escort these people so that they can be SACRIFICED, befriend them, grow closer to them, only to watch them get unalived, and then as the Soul Guard, return home completely alone, knowing the fact that the people/childhood friend you just got to know and cherish, are now gone and you'll never be able to talk to them again...FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY! No but seriously wtf?
Their society sees it as a great honor to be chosen to help continue the prosperity of their village/the world though. Very different worldview from a more individualistic society, but not that foreign a concept really. It is a dark premise to our ears though, even though they dont see it that way. Then again, Eoren/Lyza's tell seems to be important at this point in the game for a reason since it opens the game and is about them trying to escape this fate, lol.

My favorite JRPG streamer
Unironically.
Anyone else always love the difference between Connor and Sponsor Connor?
Rip to the studio
Another one bites the dust.
On the day of its release too…the gaming industry is going through quite a turmoil.
context?
Dei and esg = bad sales 😂
What are you talking about?
Classic scuffed Connor stream

Have you heard that the studio behind Visions of Mana was closed today?
Just read about it apparently NetEase is cutting down on workers from Ouka Studios with a probability of shutting it down which is just sad specially its on the release day of their game.
Wait, the studio sponsored a bunch of creators and bailed? That's unfortunate at the very least

It's not an in-house studio. The ones closing the devs studio are not Square Enix the publisher, but their Chinese owner.

Curious but to any people who know is Vision of Mana a sequel to Trials of Mana?
Not a sequel but you will see familiar characters and themes from the series, much like Final Fantasy.
Same series, just google it

The VA goes from like total dogshit to really quality work. The volcano rain guy for example was really good I thought.
