I live in Blairsville. Blue Ridge and Dahlonega are good for craft fairs and some touristy shopping if you are vacationing here. Helen is kind of tacky in my opinion. However, the mountains are beautiful any day of the year and there are plenty of outdoor activities.

Oh man, what great drone videos. We went to Atlanta really quick but we really want to visit all the other great towns in GA. I havee heard of Blue Ridge but I have not heard of Helen Georgia or Anna Ruby. Just how everything is decorated and an escape from City life. My oldest would love the coaster and zip lines. Looks like a good place to take the family. Our youngest love Christmas songs so a Christmas village would be her type of place to visit. Thanks for sharing.

Hello, how is everything? please make a video about the 50 North Georgia Mountains counties? would you really like to know about agriculture, industry and cultures in these locations?
I live in the Atlanta piedmont region of Georgia and have seen all the other places in Georgia, but Blue ridge an the Appalachian Plateau is a playground for the rich. they've then bought up all the land up there which has cause prices to go up, I just hope it doesn't turn into the next Gatlinburg though. But good ole Georgia ain't the same no more it than change and I plan on moving to Wyoming or South Dakota in the next 2-4 years or so.
Thankfully I doubt it will be a Gatlinburg ♡ I think I would have a hard time to stomach that also. There are so many incredible smaller towns in Georgia. We traveled the usa with our littles 2018 up to the pandemic and really enjoyed the wooded areas of Wyoming and the Custer area of South Dakota. Actually- after seeing small trees and flat land we all fell in love with the green and evergreens there ♡
@@OurNationalAdventure Did you know you could live off 15 dollars in South Dakota? Incredibly affordable, I've also found it out that Omaha Nebraska is incredibly affordable with a 200k average house with an 60K average wage.
I have lived near Helen for 20 years and it is not what it used to be. The area is nice but the town is the Myrtle Beach of the mountains, cheap souvenir shops, overpriced food, crowds of indifferent people and out of control children.
The mountains in general are beautiful, I bet the smaller towns and trails give more of the feeling you grew up with. It's hard having a home town that's touristy. ♡ I'm sure you still have special spots and people that bring memories back.
@@OurNationalAdventure 15 + years ago, Helen was a great place for adults to relax and enjoy the area and it was a little like a Bavarian town. You could find authentic German clocks, Tapestries, beer steins, etc. in the shops and the streets were not crowded. If you were a little tipsy, the police would take you back to your hotel but now they take you to their jail and DUI checkpoints are everywhere. If you venture from a sidewalk cafe with beer in your solo cup or park for 1 min illegally, you will be cited with a high price fine.The town has turned into a mass of rundown cheap T-shirt and trinket shops, overpriced poor quality food and families with wayward children. On the weekends, the road (only one main road) is bumper to bumper and the sidewalks are packed. Keep valuables close by because Helen is the #1 city for crime in Georgia. For those of us that knew what it once was, it is a shame to see what it has become. If you have a family and don't mind overspending for food, entertainment, etc. it is ok. The area is great, rent a cabin but avoid Helen unless it is early on a week day.

There are so many spots in Georgia we are discovering. I think the pandemic hunkering us down into our new state was definitely a good thing ♡
