Considering that this is a work truck no one can expect better. Dave showed us that it’s not a real road trip vehicle. But is not bad. Least you didn’t run out of power. 😂
ICE gets the advantage in every category other than power and comfort while towing. Hard to beat gas stations everywhere with pull through stalls and a 5 min fill up. It did great through and the trip was super easy.
With 785lbft of torque, I would say the opposite is true for this distance. We have a fleet of trucks (Gas, Diesel, EV). Our Lightning tows better than any half ton we've ever had. (as long as its 150 miles or less).
@@Mkg254 Many companies such as ours, never leave town and travel less than 100 miles a day. We have all types of trucks. What are the "every categories" advantages that ICE has while towing other than range. If you don't need the range, I have no idea what these "every" categories are. Our lightning crushes our gas F150 towing in every category and the power, comfort, stability due to its weight, isn't just a slight upgrade, its a huge difference.
@ agreed but in general things like availability, accessibility and time of refilling are significant advantages more so than simply range. I have often said if you tow inside 100 miles these are much better options.
Love the Lightning!
This was really cool! Thanks for taking us along.

loved this ride along, nice Lightning
Nice car. I drove one of these back in the days (1979) when I was working in TV- and radioservice.
Now Dave can tow the VW with Cathy’s new Porsche.
Your buddy is pretty good at these. He should either start his own channel or be a part of yours more.
Thanks man, really appreciate it!
You should get it converted by Electric Classic Cars! 😊 Good stuff
Mike didn’t answer Daves’ question about how did it go.
ICE truck better than EV to tow the VW. Less worries.

Two Words:
