How does the Claustropbobia card work? "Whenever you end your turn within range of 2 or fewer spaces, suffer 1 facedown horror" --> Aren't you always in range of at least one or two spaces? I also have a quick question regarding the card guards I see you using in this video. Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition is the first game of its kind that I've bought, and I'm not sure what to buy for guards. You don't happen to know the exact type of guards you're using? They look to be perfectly sized for the cards and I would love to order some of them for my own. Thank you again for the video!

If you look on most of their game boxes they actually have a section (usually on the back) that tells you which size card sleeves you’ll need. I hope you enjoy MoM! The action of extinguishing fires, can it be initiated without actually standing in a space with fire in it? Could I technically do the agility check while standing adjacent to a space containing fire, then move across the burning spaces to extinguish them? This came up while our party was completely surrounded by fire, all of us being wounded and insane, so we was hoping to spare ourselves some physical injuries (we all burned to death anyway). Good question, Jon! Some of the trickiest rules in this game are the small cases like this. Short answer...Yes it does. For more detail here are the relevant references. RR Pg7, Darkness, Second Bullet Point, "Investigators ignore Darkness in...a space adjacent to a space containing a Light Source or Fire." RR Pg4, Adjacent, Second Bullet Point, "Two rooms are adjacent if they share...a door...

After watching your very informative video I have put an order in for this game. I have just one question - I didn't see anywhere where it states the health of the monster (i.e. how many hits to kill). Is this info on the app? Gratz again for a very good presentation.

There have been quite a few updates since my last play of MoM but even early on I never had alot of problems with it crashing. I would imagine it has hopefully only gotten more stable.
Spells will be used during an action. The attack spells will be used during an attack action while the non-combat spells have "Action" written in bold letters to indicate they require an action. Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the video!
In the video, your investigators started with the "Free The Mind" spell. Does this mean that you take all 5 Free The Mind spell cards? Or just one of them? Do the Free The Mind cards get divided up however you want or does one investigator get all 5 of them? The book doesn't clarify this. 😞
Good question. When a player gains a spell she takes 1 random spell card from the appropriate spell deck with the art side up and without looking at the other side. When an effect tells the player to look at the other side of the card she flips it and follows the instructions. Most of the time these instructions will end with the player discarding that spell card back to the spell deck and drawing another copy of the same spell. So in this case 1 investigator would gain 1 copy of Free the Mind. RRG pg17 Thanks for watching and for the question!

Kyle you're correct on that. No range can ever extend through a door unless specifically indicated otherwise (RRG pg15). Keep in mind this specifically refers to effects that use the word "range."
Thanks - was curious how involved it would be to set up. Arkham takes 15-30 minutes, and I swear Eldritch takes longer. If this is as quick as it seems, I'm buying it.
+mbourgon I've unfortunately never played either of those but I would say the setup takes MAYBE ten minutes if you include debating which investigator you're going to play.
It's not very clear in the rules books regarding where to put the fire tockens when the fire spreads eg: you can put it in an adjacent space yes; but which space ? (if you have more than 1 choice). Also it's not specified whether fire can spread across a wall; a door etc...
This is probably one of the most commonly confused rules in the game so you're definitely not alone! When fire spreads the players choose any one adjacent space to place the new fire token (RR pg 9). Players can actually use this to their advantage by cornering monsters thereby forcing them to take damage eventually. Fire can spread through a door because spaces separated by a door are adjacent. (RR pg 8) Fire cannot spread through walls because even though they are adjacent the rules state that "Effects that affect adjacent spaces cannot affect spaces through walls unless an effect specifically allows it." (RR pg 19) Great question and thanks for watching!

You can click on any icon you see on the map. Once you've clicked on it the options within it will let you know if clicking on that option is an action because it will show the action icon. Hope that helps. Thanks for the questions and for watching!
Moving is one action that lets you move two spaces. Talking is an action. So you can Move as one action and talk as one action e.g. You move 1 space, talk to someone, and finish your move by moving out of that space. That is two actions. You cannot move and explore, then move 2 more times, unless you are Rita Young because she moves 3 spaces for every move action.
when it says a door need a key and you get a brass key or a unique card of a key does that door open or?? also after using a common item or unique card like fine clothes where it turns a clue to a success do you get rid of the card or you still have it and can use it next turn or how many times you want?
Normally the game will specify the type of key necessary to open a door. With regards to items they will specify what happens when you use them. For instance Bandages tell you to discard them after using them.
When a monster has to move through a barricade, in order to be closer to an investigator, but there's another way with no barricades (longer), which way does it move?
If a test includes the word "negates" it indicates that rolling successes actually prevent one horror or damage each (depending on which the test indicates would be prevented). (RRG pg 13)
Yeah this rule is a tad wonky. As an action you test your agility. For every success you roll you are now capable of extinguishing 1 fire token from the space you're in and any space you move into during that same round. So for instance let's say as your first action you roll 2 successes and there is a fire token in your current space and one in an adjacent space. You may immediately remove the fire token from your space. Then as your second action you decide to move and move into that adjacent space. Once you enter that space you can remove that fire token too. Hope that helps!

Can a light source “illuminate” and adjacent space with darkness if there is a door between them? I.e. light source > door > dark space

Good question, Socrates. Range cannot be counted through walls or doors but CAN be counted through impassable borders. Thanks for watching!

Yeah this rule is a tad wonky.
