Which Punta Cana all-inclusive hotels have the best food? Which Punta Cana all-inclusive hotel has the best restaurants? I just recently stayed at 14 of the best all-inclusive hotels and resorts in Punta Cana for a minimum of four nights each, eating at the very top restaurants each and every night. In this video, I rank these hotels based on their restaurant and food quality.

I stayed at bahia principe last year with my wife. We're not really party people and stayed at the beach or pool all day. The food was a big reason why we went there, nice to hear we weren't wrong with our pick.
I really want to go back to Punta Cana. The people are lovely and it’s such a beautiful place. The last time I went, however, 15 out of 18 of us got salmonella from Dreams Palm Beach. Most of us were able to recover quickly but I was on antibiotics for 3 months. It was the best and worst vacation ever. These recommendations make me want to give it another shot. Thank you.

Love this breakdown man! Planning my family trip…(17 and 21yr olds) from Canada and did Ocean Coral and Turquesa Lat year for 7…was thinking PC DR as my wife and I did a “quickie” this past Jan at Chic and LOOOVED it so… dreams Flora or Royalton Bavaro is where I am pointing.
as someone with celiac I always worry about vacationing anywhere foreign. but these hotels all look so good.

I'm booked at El Carmen Excellence however I've seen so many people say the food is terrible, any recommendations in Punta Cana? Seems like the best resorts for foodies are in Cancun, but you the run the risk of beaches being crappy there

Mind blown. Thanks so much!!! James, you shocked me for different reason with Hard Rock and especially Ambar given you didn't show that resort much love in the past. I am not a fan of the food, wine or dining ambiance at Republica (did you see the food in the Sports Bar?) BUT I understand the value argument. I really appreciate you shaking out the Royalton's with your ranking. It helps a lot! Excellence is for sure on my list but its because of you we have another booking at Majestic Elegance coming up - it was a gem for sure. TRS and Hard Rock are off the list for the future. Hard Rock tends to be very pricy.
Yo mark - you know me, I just call it like it is. And yes, Elegance is absolutely an amazing value and better than Mirage in many ways.
The sports bar food at RR is potentially a health concern ha, but that is part of the charm of that place. 😎
@@Coolist LOL Health concern is a pretty fair characterization but the jerk chicken BBQ makes up for it.
@Coolist - I have my list narrowed down to the following:
#5(value)Majestic Elegance - Better pool than Majestic Mirage, very similar food to Mirage but not as high-quality, same beach as Majestic Mirage which isn't a good thing for my family, but I heard other beaches are close by in walking distance. Decent rooms but this is the older property.
Dreams Royal Beach - believe this is the sister property to Secrets Royal Beach (#6) which is number 6 on your list. Seems like a great pool, beach and if food is anything like Secrets then it could be a winner.
Hard Rock - This place seems to be highly regarded but not quite sure I want to go full blown part mode which seems to be the vibe despite it being a well-rounded vibe.
Dreams Onyx - Seems very family friendly, sold as family luxury, anecdotally the food has been labelled as good for Punta Cana. Not sure if you have any insight as this is not a reviewed property.
Dream's Flora - Seems like a typical Dreams resorts, family friendly, beautiful beach, unsure of food, people mention outdated rooms, my wife was told that we should stay here but I am not convinced.
In 2004 I stayed at Ocean Bavaro Hotel and had a room right on the beach. The beaches back then were very natural and unspoilt. The food was excellent. I had one problem with a pool bar. They served me ice with my drink and it sent me to hospital. My partner at the time was also ill but I was seriously ill and had to use my Gold insurance policy. The hospital was excellent. They quickly tested me, asked me for stool samples and had diagnosed my infection. They told me not to take ice or drink any tap water. I never drank tap water but slipped up with the ice and paid. Ocean Bavaro had the best grounds I have ever seen at any resort. They had a Natural nature jungle feel with loads of palm trees, Banana Plants and other exotic plants, along with parrots flamingos etc. They never had this seaweed problem back then. So much has changed. I would still visit the DR and will look forward to visiting the hotels you have reviewed. Your videos have been so helpful. Thanks for sharing
The resorts have changed significantly since 2004? I didn't even think Punta Cana had hotels at that point. We have had way more issues with Mexico than DR.

Hi James! I have been watching SOO MANY of your videos for a first time trip to Punta Cana! We have a family of 3- 2 adult and a 10 year old and looking for a great hotel for us! We want the beach- be able to swim in the beautiful waters, pool for our daughter and us, slides, lazy river, pool bar, great food. I have been looking at many of the dreams, dreams royal beach for their beach, lazy river ext! Snorkling is great, but we may do an excursion, diving be able to swim in the carribean water instead of the atlantic! But want that blue beautiful beach! Any recommendations for us?!

I stayed at the riu Macau, and I found that the food was a 2 star. The biggest problem that I found was that the food wasn’t hot enough when it got to my table
Just got to Excellence today! Ate lasagna at Oregano and was wowed! Felt the buzz after 2 drinks . 🤣

Excellence being g #1 is surprising to me. I never been to this one in Punta Cana but I just stayed at Excellence Riviera Cancún and found the food to be thoroughly average at most of the restaurants. There were definitely a few excellent meals but over the course of the trip I found it to be about average

What the difference between Excellence El Carmen and Punta Cana? Is the food the same?
D*mn, $99/night. I need to know how "not that bad" it was. lol. 12/14 ranking doesn't sound that good, but but maybe the others were just that good that it fell so far. And WOO, Excellence! That makes me happy. We went to Excellence Playa Mujeres 10 years ago and LOVED it, but our taste buds weren't as experienced at the time, so we weren't entirely sure if we would still like the food when we go to Excellence El Carmen later this year for our 10th anniversary. Except for one item we didn't like, everything else was very good to excellent over the 10 days we were there. And if there's something you don't like? Just order something else there or at another restaurant--so many to choose from! I hated to be wasteful, but thankfully, it was just the one item. Playa Mujeres was so great that we were there doing the math in our heads to figure out how much money we would need to just "live" at the resort and how to make it work. 😂

Which resort is the best out of these 3 for food? Barcelo Bavaro Palace, melia caribe beach resort, or Royalton Punta Cana? We are likely choosing one of these three because of price point, water park, and activities for the kids.
Royalton buffet was bad, there were cooked items, potatoes, vegetables, meats, but not complete prepared dishes, grilled meat was hard, fish tasteless, restaurants were OK.
I booked a few Punta Cana hotels you recommended ! What's the best / cheapest way to get from from Hotel to another. Uber ?
If the hotels are less than 2-3 miles apart then I'll negotiate a $10 taxi ride out of shear convenience. Other than that, Uber, Uber, Uber...

Car vous parlez de ceux du Palladium mais pas de ceux du Turquesa soit ceux réservés uniquement pour les clients du TRS Turquesa: Gourmet, Bohème et Hélios!! Les restaurants que vous mentionnez sont ceux du Palladium. Je le sais car j y vais tous les ans depuis 11 ans 😀 Et je ne mange qu aux restaurants du Turquesa depuis 8 ans. Dommage car la différence est énorme! Ha et 1 fois par séjour, je mange au sport bar 😂. C est vraiment dommage que vous ayez mélangées restos du Palladium avec la partie Turquesa! Vous auriez dû essayer ceux du TRS. Peut-être la prochaine fois? 🌹

The best food on the island, is Casa de Campo.
We stayed at Excellence El Carmen and the resort was beautiful. The food was very disappointing. I can say we never had a good meal while there. First week in May.
Someone else echoed something similar. How two luxury hotels owned by the same company and situated next to each other offer two opposite dining experiences is baffling, but it happened to me at Royalton so I can empathize.
Did you not eat at the steakhouse? That place was excellent and the French restaurant was quite nice as well.
If you want good food, look to see if the resort is part of the Karisma brand. These resorts have food that is just below Michelin level.
Also did you have a burger at Dreams? I was there in February 2023 and the duck at the French restaurant was amazing, no fat on it and tender. Burger was a favorite of everyone I was with on the trip. Most people had several burgers throughout the week. It's a Hyatt resort now.

You can’t rank top hotels in terms of food at Punta Cana without including Hyatt Zillara and Hyatt Ziva, absolutely the best food in Punta Cana and it’s not even close
I just got back from ziva and the food was amazing! Hyatt ziva for families is the way to go.
How is it for 30 single guys? Is there a younger single crowd, or is it mostly older people and couples?

I stayed at the Hyatt Ziva in Montego Bay Jamaica and the food was phenomenal. I have yet to be offered such amazing food at an all inclusive.
@@tyrantula767 the crowd is a mix of families in Ziva and a mix of young/mid/senior crowd at zillara. But if you are looking for a “party resort” experience, this is not your destination. Perhaps you want to look at the likes of Hard Rock if you are ok with getting 4/10-6/10 qualify food at their Restaurents
Stayed at Excellence Punta Cana last July 2023 and the food sucks. It's maybe average at best. It's food, you can eat it but will you rave about....absolutely not. Maybe we caught them at a bad time but if it's the #1 then overall the food standard in Punta cana is extremely low. We're talking bland food that equates to just sustenance. I will say toward the end of our stay the room service food got better. The buffet is your best bet. We actually left the Mexican restaurant one night because the food was so bad. The fish tacos taste like sardines out of a can...ugh it was horrible. Now To excellence credit, everything else is A1. Beautiful resort. Beach is beautiful, friendly staff. But if you're going for banging ass food...this is NOT it. Food is in the eye of the beholder but for us we could never say the food there is excellent.

TRS, Royalton, Hard Rock and Breathless are expensive with bad food 🤦♀️🤦♀️ is a NO NO. That’s why I Love Bahia Principe chain I have stayed in all of them in the DR. food is great especially Luxury Amber
Breathless food isnt bad, its actually very good - just not at Ambar level. When you look at value you can get more bang for the buck elsewhere. I have typically found Ambar and Breathless have a similar price point when I travel.

@@markrussell3428 it's just kind of meh...Nice place and all. But DR has had some staffing issues since covid and alot of things you should be getting are either delayed or just lacking. I found they are trying to catch up with what the quality of service once was...

I’m happy that Iberostar Grand Bávaro wasn’t anywhere on this list; the food was awful. I stayed here 5 years ago and it was much better; the quality has really diminished
Who cares about restaurants where you can only have dinner I assume? How is their breakfast/lunch buffets?
Well im sorry James but from European perspective food is okay at best in excellence. Pizza is a sorry excuse for italian food. There are some not able exceptions but most of the food is made for looks and not for taste. Mixology as you have put it is also hit and miss.. Cuba libres miss lime wedges mohitos miss mint all is substituted by syroup. That being said im suprised that beef is OK even if you need to order 3 servings to get full.
At 350 great value. At 500 its cutting corners where it should not
