Hey everyone, a few people have pointed out some pretty big mistakes that I made in this review and I just want to clear everything up for you guys. To start off there are much better examples of DLC models in comparison to Rainbow Six Siege, like for example, Titanfall 2's business model is set up so that all future game content is free to anyone who purchased the game, with the only premium purchases available being camo sets and prime Titans (cosmetics), these items are also only able to be purchased directly and don't rely on a loot box system, so you only pay for exactly what you want. I still think the way it's done in Siege is better than a lot of games I've seen, but it certainly wasn't the best example and definitely has flaws. Secondly, I blame Monolith for the microtransaction business and "wanting to make money", when the true culprit here is Warner Bros. When I mention the developers in a negative connotation, what I really should have been saying was the publishers. Generally speaking, that's where the greed comes from. Warner Bros has a reputation for very greedy business practices at this point, so I think it's a safe bet to place the blame on them in this scenario. *Apologies to anyone from Monolith if you've stumbled across this video, I should have done more research about that. My bad*. Third, I really wasn't trying to spoil anything significant. In fact, there's a lot of the ending that I completely left out and I didn't give many details on the Main Story that would really spoil the experience. I didn't feel like Bruz was that much of a crutch for the game and personally felt that his betraying you was very obvious. Although, some have pointed out that him betraying you is actually still teaching the mechanics, which I didn't think about. Lastly, the Ologs are not cave trolls. I did say cave troll as a joke, the same goes for "forest witch" etc, but this one seemed to really push some buttons. I don't claim to be an expert on Tolkien lore, and am happy to admit that. Overall, this video is full of lazy mistakes that shouldn't have been made. For that I apologize to you guys. I'm trying to steer away from taking myself so seriously in these videos, because I don't think I'm very good at it. *But I'm definitely not done complaining ;)*. New video hopefully by Monday. I played through the whole game without spending a single dollar on micro transactions and it didn't effect it at all. People just freaked out for nothing
Holy shit !! A review I agree with. I was getting sick of everybody slamming this game saying you had to pay to win. I had all the achievements within 2 weeks without a single micro transaction. The shadow wars aren't that bad either
I had a level 52 warlord who had vigilant vs stealth, vault breaker, stun block, dodge, cursed weapon, no chance, and about 30 other fucking strengths His only weaknesses were 2 hints saying "Damaged by ranged weapons" "Damaged by executions"
my overlord in seregost is immune to frost, arrows, fire, poison, and stealth and is also enraged by curse. He is literally unstoppable. He's also a beast master and has a caragor pack and cannot be attacked by beasts and is a beast slayer. A literal god uruk. He has no weaknesses.
The entire secret ending controversy everyone was freaking out about was blown out of proportion as well. I'm halfway done with the grind for the true ending and haven't spent a penny and have easily defended my fortresses without the standard games number of legendary orcs. Also, the Symphony of Violence was great!
To be honest, I felt insulted by how shitty the secret ending was made. I spent hours defending forts and watching pit fights, and I got a shit ending that just tosses everything I did out of the window. I didn't want Talion to fly in on a drake and no scope Sauron with a .50 cal while listening to skrillex, but god I wish I spoiled the ending for myself beforehand.
Even with all the “mistakes” this is easily one of the best videos not only on your channel, but one of the best TH-cam videos I’ve seen ALL year from your genre of TH-camrs. Well done
You do NOT need to find the artifacts for the towers to work, you can just totally skip that minigame screen, please put that in your video so you do not misinform people ;-;
When you die( or just load the game),there's also an enormous chance that you will spawn on one of these towers already,it doesn't matter whether they are already taken by you or not. I suppose it's one way to get the towers quickly.

Was a fun game with a good amount of content. Was worth the money for me, micro transactions don’t affect the game. If micro transactions are in every game I hope it’s more like this one.
Shmolty thing is you can use in game currency to buy loot chests and get great shit. I didnt spend an extra (irl) dime on tge game but i opened 20-40 loot chests

You can use Cheat Engine to give yourself anything you want, so the loot crates aren't bad, except for the people who don't know how to use cheat engine

Hey, I’m just popping in to say that the micro transactions, the market, and the ability to get Uruks in loot boxes are now gone, the level cap has been raised to 80 (Uruks: 85), Shadow Wars has been shortened to five sieges, and you get rewarded with bad ass Nazgul masks with their own special abilities after each one. Enjoy! (If anyone is still playing, that is) Edit: The update came out in July
You can farm legendaries by just making your captains kill the unknown captain and make time flow normally from tower to tower you can also finish daily challenges that can give gold currency if it doesnt give you that you can change it once and the community challenge that gives you a chest with a legendary at least
Money isn't the only reason to make games.... art is a reason. Some of us devs like telling stories and entertaining. Making money is generally not on the mind of any dev... that would be the publishers shoving that shit down our throats.
But the gold edition doesn't give you immediate access to the expansions, as they are not ready to play? One comes out in November, one in December and then February and Mars. Meaning they are not ready to simply be put in
I bought the gold edition back when this came out. Simple reason for that was the fact that I got Shadow of mordor+all of it's DLC for 4.99 on steam sale,so for basically nothing. Ended up having more than enough fun with that alone to drop extra 30 or so euros on Shadow of War and I can't say I regretted that afterwards. I don't think anything in the gold edition was really worth the extra cost at all but as I said earlier I had a decent enough reason to buy it anyway.

I have a captain that is immune to everything except executions and he is enraged by executions and he had six other things that enraged him and he had the epic rage trait and no weaknesses and the most training orders I could give him. He is my overlord.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention the endgame grind, and the honestly extreme amount of grinding you have to do to get the “true ending”. Many reviewers I’ve seen have at least mentioned it, and many disliked it quite a bit. Interesting to see your opinion on this though.
How some enemies are tedious. Had one I hated in shadow of mordor. List of things that did not work and helped the guy: Hate of caragors Hate of fire Hate of pain Immune to combat finishers Immune to vaulting Arrow-proof He is a berserker and any berserker so is immune to combat finishers are a normal pain in the arse. So in my attempt to try and kill him I try and use stealth when he had alredy spotted me. So he get hurt becomes enraged and heal back up before I can sneak attack him again. Turned out he was instantly killed by stealth.... took me 4 deaths to realise.

Nah, even fortress assaults felt tedious and really fucking easy, i didn't understand why people were praising this mechanic... Then i realised that i overprepared for every assault, killing each warlord and infiltrating at least one of my guys every time. I pretty much ruined the game for myself.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention the "Shadow Wars" act, the obvious grindfest that locks the actual climax of the story and of the character you play behind a ridiculous amount of busywork which I can only assume was to 'encourage' players to buy lootboxes instead of sitting AFK in the fighting pits and letting your commanders do their Pokémon battle. I thoroughly enjoyed the game, but by the time I hit phase 4 (and I knew how many phases were still coming after because I spoiled myself in that regard) I decided to throw the game off of my PC and watch the rest on youtube instead to get to the story.
How did you level up your orcs? At stage 4 they were already 10 levels below the enemy invasion force. I even had a level 4 white gem in my ring, but I still had to go through an excessive amount of AFK cutscenes (fighting pits) in order to level them up.
Patrick Schmidt well even when they were lower levels it just didn't matter, when I lost a fort it was always due to me doing something stupid or playing bad and dying , my orcs not being the same level as the attackers never had an impact , Also I am pretty sure they gain more levels through missions than fighting pits
they're pretty fun, yeah, but it gets super tedious and difficult near the end, i just walked out and got myself killed in the last 2 because i found it impossible to protect all my orcs when they down instantly and i can't get to them. I had half the uruks in the region protected and i was still overwhelmed. You get more xp for a retake anyway, so it's basically better to just get killed by a grunt and save the trouble.
i never found it tedious or difficult like that, and i was/ am on nemesis, but i wasn't bothered when i did go and get killed due to whatever reason, mainly me being an idiot, as i loved retaking them
I mean Bruz DID still explain mechanics after he betrayed you. Taught you that your guys can and will turn on you if you anger them. That they will ambush you from time to time. And finally that when you catch up with them instead of killing them you can shame and that it has a chance of making them deranged. He taught us mechanics at all times he even taught us olog riding lol.
Spider lady looks like she's a straight ripoff from BDO's sorceress or Witcher 3 Yen, but there are some fanarts from early days of internet portraying her pretty much the same way she's portrayed in the game. So we can safely assume the huggy-touchy sexy lady is pretty qt thanks to some polish noname

The combat seems more reminiscent of the assassins creed franchise, which is pretty much the same as the arkham games but the stealth mechanic (especially hiding in bushes) makes it seem more like AC to me

Quick note shmolty: sometimes the captains and such have a second trigger, and not every encounter is 30 seconds, most of mine were 5-10 seconds

Nah, even fortress assaults felt tedious and really fucking easy, i didn't understand why people were praising this mechanic... Then i realised that i overprepared for every assault, killing each warlord and infiltrating at least one of my guys every time. I pretty much ruined the game for myself.

I'm surprised that you didn't mention the "Shadow Wars" act, the obvious grindfest that locks the actual climax of the story and of the character you play behind a ridiculous amount of busywork which I can only assume was to 'encourage' players to buy lootboxes instead of sitting AFK in the fighting pits and letting your commanders do their Pokémon battle.
I thoroughly enjoyed the game, but by the time I hit phase 4 (and I knew how many phases were still coming after because I spoiled myself in that regard) I decided to throw the game off of my PC and watch the rest on youtube instead to get to the story.

How did you level up your orcs? At stage 4 they were already 10 levels below the enemy invasion force. I even had a level 4 white gem in my ring, but I still had to go through an excessive amount of AFK cutscenes (fighting pits) in order to level them up.
Patrick Schmidt well even when they were lower levels it just didn't matter, when I lost a fort it was always due to me doing something stupid or playing bad and dying , my orcs not being the same level as the attackers never had an impact , Also I am pretty sure they gain more levels through missions than fighting pits
You can just take over the tower then back out, and it'll be use able to fast travel

they're pretty fun, yeah, but it gets super tedious and difficult near the end, i just walked out and got myself killed in the last 2 because i found it impossible to protect all my orcs when they down instantly and i can't get to them. I had half the uruks in the region protected and i was still overwhelmed. You get more xp for a retake anyway, so it's basically better to just get killed by a grunt and save the trouble.
i never found it tedious or difficult like that, and i was/ am on nemesis, but i wasn't bothered when i did go and get killed due to whatever reason, mainly me being an idiot, as i loved retaking them
Haven't played this one yet but you're right, once you get overpowered it's actually more fun. Wich only happened in mordor for me.

I mean Bruz DID still explain mechanics after he betrayed you. Taught you that your guys can and will turn on you if you anger them. That they will ambush you from time to time. And finally that when you catch up with them instead of killing them you can shame and that it has a chance of making them deranged. Spider lady looks like she's a straight ripoff from BDO's sorceress or Witcher 3 Yen, but there are some fanarts from early days of internet portraying her pretty much the same way she's portrayed in the game. The combat seems more reminiscent of the assassins creed franchise, which is pretty much the same as the arkham games but the stealth mechanic (especially hiding in bushes) makes it seem more like AC to me
