    I think you missed an important part. If an instrument is electronically powered, its output signal should pass through a passive D.I BOX before the input of the mixer, because if not, the active charges coming from the instrument might damage the input channel of the mixer where it is plugged in.

    Thanks to your vids, a retired vet can finally do what I have always wanted and get pass all these gizmos and play music for myself, 67 years of just being confused by all the hi-tech lingo and teachers that can't teach for Sxxt! You can also take the MAIN OUT of your mixer (both LEFT and RIGHT) and connect them to the INPUTS of your audio interface (if you want to record in a DAW for example)

    Hey dude! Just wanted to drop in and thank you for your vids. I'm 32, never had a driver's license and started watching your videos about two months ago. Your videos were a PERFECT criteria as an introduction to driving. As someone who didn't have alot of people to help with this, i can appreciate your videos even more than someone with a support group. Anyway two months later i finally have my license. Of course i did it for myself but i want to thank you specifically for helping me overcome my fear of it all. You're a natural teacher and I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks so. That's pretty much it. Thanks again dude, keep up the great work👍👍👍👍👍

    How do you hook it up to a mixer to get true proper stereo sound threw the PA speakers?

    Also the output sound you can connect a phone and you can record your self for a piano or a guitar cover having two phones is better one for backing tracks the other for recording you can also connect a go pro using a mic adapter into the output cable I used a mixer for guitar cover I have a few videos on my channel in case u want to hear the quality of a mixer nice video by the way :)

    Great video but the question I have always wondered was not answered. On the OUT of the Mixer do you use AUDIO cable or INSTRUMENT cable to the Speaker? Thank you.

    • @krisjanisrudzats5678
      @krisjanisrudzats5678 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, a bit late, but myb it will help. The answer is audio cable, not the instrument cable. First of all, speakers aren't instruments. And so the name is prety much self explanotory. Of course it will work, but there will be much of unwanted noise, and in long run it will damage equipment. Right cables for right sound bud'! P.s.(i am not native speaker, so sorry if it's hard to read) cheers!

    Hi thank you for the tutorial. I need to get sound out off the digital piano (tones, rhythm etc.) to the mixer. So if you can just let me know I'm making the correct connections for the following: using a Y cable (3.5 TRS, 1/4 TR) from my piano phones/OUTPUT to mixer line 1 and line 2 will that work? Thank you in advance.

  • @ardeemadethat770
    @ardeemadethat770 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Hey dude! Good video! But there is one thing that is incorrect about your setup and it's important people know this! Connecting an AC Powered device such as a digital keyboard or piano directly to a mixer is a NO-NO! An AC powered device such as a digital keyboard or piano is capable of sending power inputs down the line into the mixer, which can ultimately short out the mixer as well as damage the instrument, the proper connection method is to have a 'passive DI box' between the instrument and the mixer, converting the signal and eliminating the risk.
    I don't want to sound like some arrogant sound person, I just know how expensive equipment can be and don't want someone's Christmas to be ruined when newcomers inevitably begin searching for setup videos in a week!

    • @letsdoit7605
      @letsdoit7605 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the info. I have a digital keyboard with workstation in it. Do I also need a DI box?

    • @ardeemadethat770
      @ardeemadethat770 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@letsdoit7605 I'm not too sure what you mean by workstation, if it's a midi keyboard then it's totally fine, but any 'real' digital piano that doesn't require a computer to emulate the sound is along the lines of what I mean. People disregard it all the time, but just because other people do, doesn't mean it's right.
      Most people never run into any issues because few will ever play at a live venue, but when you get into playing live, long cable runs of unbalanced signals results in a nasty 60hz hum that is audible and very annoying.
      But just because you don't notice the issue in small cable runs, doesn't mean its not there. You can see boosted areas on recordings around the 60hz signal where the unbalanced hum enters the recording causing a muddy mix around the sub to bass range.

    I thought it was like "The idiots guide to ****" .
    Which I think is great. There are many ( If not ? MOST) people are in need of this simple and basic terms.
    Yes 👍👍👍. Inputs and outputs ( Rule 101). Yes people can get confused. I have myself. Long ago MANY MANY MANY YEARS AGO .
    All my life from a child I have been interested in electronics. I grew up and it has been my hobby since then.
    I am a guitarist. I do all my wiring, upgrades ,and repairs.
    I have been for many years I am 66 yrs. now ( 18 in the head)
    I had lots of mixers in my life . I basically allways did the basic "in ,out " to amp or PC,
    My original question. Brought this as a suggestion. But it didn't answer or satisfy my curiosity.. I am sorry buddy.
    HOWEVER after watching your vid. I had a couple of questions.
    1.. When you use the single lead output to speakers ... IS that a mono or stereo plug. ? If not. Why are you not using 2 leads 1 for each speaker. ALSO I think it might of been good to mention they are "ACTIVE "speakers . In case some newbie plugs in to a passive and nothing happens 🤣
    Finally it m8ght of been agood ideate mention "phantom power" . I don't know if you have it. But a phantom m8c does nothing without its 48vlts 🤣.
    But buddy. I afraid I m7st need "advanced " 🤣🤣🤣✌️💙
