Obviously I’ve given this a lot of thoughts about if I’d one day return to BirdKeeperToby and being a Poketuber

I appreciate that you have followed your heart with all this journey. Personally, I hope that Bird Keeper Toby becomes like Absurd Zelda Theories: not feeling like you HAVE to post regular content, but just when a video idea strikes your fancy and you really want to make that video. So you'd be there, and we'd still get your best content, without truly "coming back."

One thing I’ve learned about Pokemon is, no matter how much I find myself getting away from it, it always finds its way back. I’ve come to accept that Pokemon is a huge part of my life. If you ever decide to come back, we would all be happy to have you back on our screens.
Same. The moment you are affected by that PokeRus, its hard to get rid of it.
Yeah, even after there was a game I really hated and I fell completely out of love with Pokemon for a couple of years - eventually I gave it another try and I fell back in love with it. And despite an occasional loss of interest in it I still never completely stopped loving it again.

I definitely miss your content. You were an inspiration for me to learn, and you always did your research. With that said, I’m more happy to hear about people doing well than to get something from them. If acting makes you as happy as you seem to be, pursue it with all of your heart. I live in the states, so I wont be able to support any shows you are in myself, but I hope your life goes fantastically, you deserve that. Take care Toby.

I think what's helping you fall back in love with pokemon is not having to stress about or worry about how to turn something into a video and how quickly you gotta get it done/beat others to it (if that's something that's impacted you at all). Like, the big stressors have been turned off, and you enjoy it much more simply this time. Of course, having beloved games that remix or "fix" a lot of the old issues helps a lot, because it kind of "refreshes" it in your memory/nostalgia. As adults, with 20+ years of QoL updates for the series, and having the games being dismantled and broken apart, we don't really feel the same joy as we once did with our first games, because we know all the flaws and things that they could have improved if they remade it today (as the legacy person is doing to my understanding?). Like, I miss the aesthetics of gens 1 & 2 sometimes, but replaying it (esp after having done so several times) doesn't really help scratch that itch that I'm sure the novelty that the legacy versions are creating. fixing?
anyways, don't feel the need to come back full time if you ever do! I really do think that, if you decide to come back, it should definitely be more as a hobby or part time. Something that'll be fun and light and you don't need to devote more hours of your life than what you would otherwise decide to do.
I am happy about all of your life updates that I've been hearing, and that the time away has started to help you enjoy the series again!
Game freak has a very toxic realtionship with its own work ethics thankfully I heard they are taking a gap year which alot of us were asking for years. They need a creative break. Ive hardly touch Legends and regret buying Scatlet/Violet and I'm very worried they'll ruin black/white. I believe alot of us has lost alot of faith on what makes Pokemon special. I wish you well on your acting career Good luck on your role.
Theres nothing wrong with keeping this around as a hobby instead of trying to dive back in full steam.
Take your time. Feel things out. We'll respect whatever choice you make.

To be honest, I am a big Zelda fan and I have dived deep into a lot of fan related stuff and played the hell out of TOTK and absorbed as much Zelda as I could and then I just burned out. I just felt like I was done with Zelda for a while. But as time has gone on, the itch has come back a little, I have been craving some Zelda stuff and I know the fire will one back eventually.
Seems like you need a break. If that fire for Pokemon content comes back, great. If not, oh well, there is no need to force it. I hope you just do what makes you happy.
I want you to do what makes you happy, but i would love if you could return if if it was just an occasional, once every few weeks kinda thing. I think more let's plays or gameplay videos would be an easy way to do it, just playing pokemon no crazy ideas no frustration, just chill

I think when a new Legends Z-A Trailer Game is revealed or the game itself announced as well as its demo version and its release date next year, maybe you can comeback as a Poketuber.
If you do come back, awesome. If you don't think you can do it consistently, that's fine. Do what your heart wishes, and enjoy what you do. If you want to release an occasional video, then you can do that. If the motivation arises, then sure, make some videos. In the end, you should be happy, that is what is important.
By the time Legends: Z-A comes out next year you’ll either be so excited that you’ll want to come back at least a little bit or decide that you’re okay with leaving it alone. Either way, I wish the best for you friend, and look forward to seeing you again one way or another.
Bird keeper Tobi it’s so nice to hear from you. If you decide to come back or not is up to you. I just hope that whatever you do you have fun. It sound like you are enjoying the acting jobs so far and like you said you need to focus on you for awhile. You might come back you might not. But I hope you are careful to do what is best for you.

I'm happy for you that you can enjoy Pokemon as a hobby, it's so important to have things you enjoy I'm glad it didn't get ruined for you.
Take as much time as you need and want to focus on making sure that your mental and physical health is in a place your happy with as that's what matters. Enjoy your acting I'm sure you'll continue to have lots of fun with it. If you do decide to come back to Birdkeeper Toby I think like you were saying you need to have a good work life balance. Maybe not having it be your main thing, being one of those TH-camrs who uploads when they feel like it be it once a week, once every 6 months or even just putting out a video every few years might be better so there's less pressure on yourself but I know that can be difficult for people as well if you need more of a structure, just know we'll support you whatever you do regardless of if you ever go back to Birdkeeper Toby or not.

Honestly when I saw this video I was afraid you felt pressured to return but I'm very glad you're not pressuring yourself at all. Enjoy persuing new goals Toby and if you do come back, do it when it feels right and you actually want to do it. And if you come back and it isn't what you want, you can always slow it down or stop the channel. The most important thing in this is you! It's your life, make desisions that further improve your life.

If it happens to be where you love Pokemon enough to come back and make videos, I would be so happy to watch them. You've produced some of my favorite TH-cam content that I've ever seen and I would love to see more ( Like another Fakemon Region that could tie with Pokemon Tempest or other fakemon regions with creators like Froopyart/Subjectively/LockstinNGnoggin/HoopsnHiphop etc, if you were a gym leader, if you were an elite 4 member, if you were a champion, what gym leaders/elite 4/ champion would you choose to make up another region, pokemon theories, making your own version of a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon thing with your own guild and teams etc, creating the best Pokemon game using the best qualities of each in your opinion etc). I actually recently found Froopyart through your posts and I binged watched his entire Pokemon Amber series in 3 days and I am continuing to watch his Pokemon Eclipse series as a new subscriber so thank you for bringing him up otherwise I may have never found him(Btw, good job with your acting in his Pokemon Eclipse project!) As much as I want and wish for you to come back to do Pokemon videos again, you should only come back when you feel like it is time that you want to come back. When it comes to your health, some words I heard helped me recently as I'd lost motivation for the gym after going for years. Motivation is a feeling, and feelings fluctuate. Commitment is a choice, so I'm choosing to be committed. Even when you're not motivated, try to take some steps for you health even if they're small so that you stay committed.
This just proves TH-camrs will do anything to reach that 8-minute mark. :D

If you're asking us what we think you should do, here's my two cents.
It's your life, and I'm happy to hear you're enjoying acting. Continue to pursue it as long as you keep enjoying it. But you also clearly enjoy making videos too. So why not do both? You don't need to keep doing videos as a full time job, but a video every once in a while when something interesting happens in the world of Pokemon (or you're thinking about it for some other reason) would be nice. You don't need to have a consistent schedule. Basically, similar to what you're doing on the Zelda channel.
Of course part of this is just me missing your Pokemon content, but I at least hope it would be fun for all of us, including you.

You could come back as a fan, and not a content creator. I tried being a content creator back in 2016 with a few vods but that was 6 vids maybe and each one literally took up my entire weekend. I was a sophomore in college at the time. That weekend was all the time i had so sticking to doing stuff on my own time, showing highlights on Twitter interacting with peeps is what i settled on and it tuned out great.
Only issue is i was chronically online, but recently i have been to a card shop semi nearby and spending 4 hours playing the PKMN TCG has really made me enjoy the franchise. I barley pick up my switch anymore.
Sorry for the personal stories, i just was in a rut after realizing i was playing pokemon the same way for 10 years when XY was having its anniversary.

I didn't realise Toby had a Zelda channel, I subbed to it, I also began to do some modelling of characters from The Wind Waker, in Blender, some are really easy to make, while others are taking longer.

I totally get it! But I think just figuring out if you just want to enjoy it as a fan before jumping back into TH-cam. There is nothing wrong with enjoying Pokemon from afar.
I have gone through the same thing with my art-getting so burntout that even the act of getting on my Instagram account leaves me frustrated. but I still enjoy drawing, just not posting or the hustle. And I understand the dreaming about your comeback, I think that's a once a month thing.
Once you're acting really picks up though I don't think you'll look back as much. The fear will have left you and you can move on in this next role.

My love for pokemon definitely comes in waves, and not to say I'm a fair weather fan, it's just such a vast franchise it tends to be my comfort content. I branch off to new interests; board games, DnD, other video games, but when those sizzle down Pokemon is always there. This dry patch has been hard - I feel like 2022 was some peak pokemon content and I was living in that world non stop. A resurgence like that will come again, and I'll be there - and I hope you too, in any capacity! ❤

I want you to come back, you were 100% my favorite poketuber, BUT i want you to come back IF you're in the right headspace and you get to have fun man.
That said, if you "came back" and only did videos once a month, once every few months when the inspiration hit, or just to have fun around news and releases, I'd be racing everyone else to be first to watch.

I love watching your Pokemon videos because your love for these fantastic creatures and the world they inhabit is so contagious. It never fails to bring me back to the better parts of my childhood and makes me fall in love with Pokemon all over again. That being said, your own life and your own mental health takes precident over our collective enjoyment of your videos. Even if you never come out of full retirement and choose to make videos only when there's an idea you're really passionate about, we'll still be here to check it out. There's no doubt you love making Pokemon videos, and there's no doubt we love watching them!

You are very much missed I think, we all appreciate what you brought to us as the fans and also your passion was infectious. It was partly what go me back into Pokemon and also what lead me to stick with it. I think its important to note that your channel and love for Pokemon will always be there and I think its great that your falling in love with it, but on your own terms. Those ideas and concepts you have is really good to hear, because it screams that your a creative person and I think that is the heart of your channel in the first place. Maybe one day you can find a way of merging both passions together, or perhaps one day you will be a Jedi or a superhero. Either way, keep soaring high and being creative.

Is Yellow Legacy THAT good ?
The sprites are gorgous, the pokedex moves list is convenient, playing on phone and in super speed ideal and the new npc's and Pokémon amp the challenge in a really nice way. New pokemon distribution is also really nice
@@tobyrivers_ I started playing it and yeah, the fact that the Pokédex lets you see the learnsets of the Pokémon you catch is insanely cool, same with the fact that you can see your Pokémon's DVs.
Say, was it just me who kept getting crit by the Rival's Eevee in the very first fight and so I lost ? These crits happened so often that I lost 3 times in a row. To *the very first battle.* That didn't seem very fair nor fun.

I've been having that issue on my phone lately. It helps to skip forward and you should pickup sound, then restart the video.
