Thank you for posting this!!! I still have my mom's Fiero GT in my garage. She passed away sadly but I'll always keep her car. We are the original owners since 1985. I always knew it would look awesome wrapped. Thank you for sharing! ❤
I too have my mom’s red Fiero in my garage. It has 83,000 and is mint. She last drove it in 1998. I always saw it as a girls car and am not interested in driving it.
the 88 gt is the proper version of this car. beancounters ruined the launch versions and by the time managment agreed to a quality suspension and subframe assemblies with the V6 ? the car never even approached what the design team wanted. how could you not want a short wheelbase mid engined sports car? even the crappy ones are fun as hell on a twisty…
A lot of the cutting was self-inflicted. For instance that front badge comes off with one nut. Guy spent bunch of time on that when 30sec to undo nut wrap then put badge over wrap. Also all the black rubber molding comes off (pops out and then pops back in) rather easy. could wrap and then put the black molding back on saving hours of cutting and fitting above and below the moldings which go entirely around the car. Also the side mirrors come off easy which would eliminate the joint he had to make between the mirror and the door edge. These are just the really easy ones that a good paint job would also do rather than masking off. In the case of a wrap these extra things just introduce an extra potential point of failure.
I am currently doing the body work prepping it to wrap. I was leaning toward the same color but with a mat finish. Bummer its been done before me but nice to see a video. I even wanted to work in carbon fiber wrap in some were. Looks great!
Man wrapping cars has to be so frustratingly tedious... kudos to all the guys doing this so flawlessly.. also love the last starlight reference!!!! Loved that movie as a kid
Here i. Florida I'll choose a paint job iver a wrap. Ive seen several cars bubbling and peeling within a couple of years from the heat. Almost every business vehicle wrapped looks like trash within two years. Parking lot dings, road debris foyung up, weather changes, salt air. The factors you have to worry about all the time.
I had a buddy who's older brother took a fiero and stuffed a big block chevy in it. That car would smoke street bikes. It was a fun ass little toy he had as middle finger to vettes, porches and the like
I had 3 back in the day, I held on to my last one up until a few years ago. After watching what you do, I think it would be easier for me to paint a car. You have mad skills, man! Beautiful car!😊👍
I watched you do this on TikTok and that front nose was awesome, When I wrapped mine it took me 2 hours on that and you made it look easy. Awesome job!!

@@alanfitz9547 This guy famously never takes anything off the car. It would be faster to remove those things but he's good enough with the material to just put the wrap on and not bother researching how to remove anything. I agree though, I'd have the car in pieces.
When I was a kid I used to love this car. I always wanted the gt with a huge wing on the back and big wheels on it. I would do bigger wheels on the back. These are hard to find in good shape nowadays.
Fun fact about these cars. A small block Chevy motor will bolt right in. A 283 or 327 bolts right in. A 350 will bolt up but you have to a lil room. Even a caddy North Star v8 will bolt up to the stock transaxle
An LS4 engine would be perfect for that car. The LS4 was the only front-wheel drive LS engine offered by GM and was used in the Impala SS, Monte Carlo SS, Grand Prix GXP, and Buick LaCrosse Super. The stock LS4 made 303HP and would make that Fiero fly!
my neighbors 15 year old son is doing the samething but his is an 84. They have already cut out the back seat and put a LN3 3.8 V6 in it out of a 88 Buick Century in it. it's going to be a bad-ass little car when he gets it down.
There are plenty of cars with sideways v8. The Ferrari 308/328 was transverse. They also make an adapter for rwd Chevy to fwd GM pattern. My friend had a 305 in one of these. But the Northstar/Aurora from Oldsmobile and Cadillac doesn't need the adapter. Only it may need some cleaning for the front accessory belts and maybe the firewall as the 2.8v6 is narrower. The ls4 from the Monte Carlo ss also doesn't need an adapter plate. But you may want to swap out the intake manifold as the ls4 intake is a power killer. There are probably other things people do like use a Porsche or VW or modified Subaru transmission for a longitudinal engine. Or if they can tolerate an auto the eldorado/torenado transaxle is mostly a th400 with a chain drive and built in differential. That would allow any buick, olds, caddy, or Pontiac rwd engine. Or others with adapter plates.
You guys are wildly underestimating how big was the Fiero scene is. You have to remember those cars came with all of the specifications of a supercar, except the horsepower, from the factory. This guy doesn't know about the 3800 series 2 V6 out of the 98 Buick "Ultra" series engine swap yet. 99% of direct swap, just a little bit of electrical that has to be custom done. After that you have the centrifugal supercharger you have to add on to it, and it takes about 3 hours to do, anybody who can assemble a Lego set can do this job themselves. Long story short, if you want to build your own, one off, super car in your garage, these are what you start with.
In all honesty, body panels come off of these fairly easy and its quite a quick process too so long as you have replacement clips for the trim, would make future work on any of these easier i imagine
@@jbgtly4930 That’s exactly how I feel. They ignored an entire generation during the 90’s and catered to its parents. My father thinks Buick is great but I always admired the G8 and GTO which were Australian Holden counterparts and the Solstice was highly underrated as an Opel GT. If GM ever wanted to make a statement and catch up with Ford again they would have to bring back that line. Corvettes and Camaros can’t do it alone.
I have an 87 Fiero GT, but with the rear wing. I know the area around the back deck lid, can get pretty hot during the day as the car is sitting idle at a long traffic light or in heavy traffic. Does this wrap handle the heat it might be putting out? Looking to get the same done to mine. But in a slightly darker Chameleon Wrap.
Owned a bunch of Fiero GTs, 1 of my all time fave cars. Fastback GTs are the best looking and should never be used to kit out to make look like a Ferrari, or anything else, unless that rear fastback clip is damaged beyond normal repair. There r a limited number of them to begin with so if you r planning on making a kit car out of a Fiero, plz use any model other than 86 1/2 thru 88 GTs. Plenty of notchback GTs still around and they are awesome cars; the Fastback GTs r just slightly newer and rare. Sorry if I’m sounding like a jerk or some @$$hat, it’s just these cars are so special to most ppl who have owned 1 or some; wether or not they r a car person there is just something special about them most everyone who owns or drives one knows what I mean. Too bad they didn’t come out wit the 89 Fiero, it would’ve been a true Beast that even if they stopped making them after 89, ppl would still talk about them like do when talking about Buick’s GNX.
Hi can you tell me roughly how much just the wrap materials costs for the fiero as I’m looking at trying it myself as I live in N.B. Canada or I’d come see you ?
Is the shift directional? Like, does it shift different depending on which way the vinyl is oriented? Driving me crazy that, when looking at it from the front, the bumper is showing the blues and reds while the hood is showing the gold
I always wondered what something like this wrap will cost ?,I own a honda civic 2004 which is a small car and I would like to know the cost of a wrap..

100x better! Looks good brought back to life!
Aye! Those primer to wrap transformations go hard lol. Nice 👌
I've been watching your channel for a couple of years, and it seems like this was an easier wrap job than normal.
Need to push the refresh with some amazing wheels! 👍
I needed this process of the Fiero thank you so much.

That paint and carbon trim would cost you $10000+ as a pa8nt job. Wrap is probably $1500 or less. It looks great.
Ya you would want to re do it every three years I’d say. It’s cheaper and done in a day so people like it. 😊

Always wanted a Fiero GT 'Fastback'! Swap a 3800 V6 Supercharged engine in that (and make it manual, of course) and you got a fast car.
GM never should have discontinued the Pontiac assembly line. They actually had a younger generation and lost them.
Yea, and the kept Buick???
Right after they released the best 4 door sedan that GM has ever made in the G8. Just a stupid decision.
