Am I the only one starting to like LaVar? I strongly disliked him at first but more and more I've enjoyed his methods. He's clearly a smart guy who knows what he's doing and has a plan. That plan seems to be working.

Lavar ball is a genius, he has set his son up with a career before he has even made the NBA, he is one of the biggest names ever in college basketball because of what LaVar is saying!
NAH he has his son setup for the draft and a rookie contract. Not to discredit Lonzo but he will go higher than he should due to the hype, I'll give him that. After that contract is up though, daddy's publicity stunts won't save him anymore.

I understand why people dislike LaVar but I don't get why people are so contentious about everything he does. He's not doing anything wrong or illegal he's trying to build something for himself and his sons and I respect that. Just because he isn't willing to suck off these big corporate brands that have been exploiting players for years now. They hate the fact that they don't have the power anymore, that he's messing with the system and no going along with what they want.
In 1995, while opening a packet of basketball cards, to my pleasant surprise, I got the UPPER DECK SPECIAL DIE CUT #D1 GLENN ROBINSON. This was an ultra rare card and at the time, I had offers of $500 for this rookie phenom's card. Sadly, this is now worth $5, but I held it in the hopes that Glenn "Big Dog" Robinson might develop into a NBA Superstar. It was a gamble that didn't pay off. If Lonzo Ball develops into an NBA superstar, his $500 shoes will seem very cheap. The big question is, will he or won't he? The odds are stacked against him. His Dad is making his son take a big risk considering he turned down multimillion dollar deals from the big shoes companies, but in the end if it doesn't work out. Given his son is exceptional, Lonzo should still get a shoe deal later on.
