The only issue is that the Mimic Tear doesn't really understand the special attack it has just for Rykard's fight, so it takes forever to run all the way into melee range instead of blasting from a distance like we do.
Can't wait to try this. In my NG+ and ++, I went around making sure I had two of every weapon, and I was so gutted you couldn't powerstance Serpent-Hunter, not only because it would have made Rykard NG+ (and beyond) more amusing, but also just because it's a cool-ass weapon

That's the same dupe glitch used back in Demon's souls actually. You pick up the item you want to dupe right before you invade, the character saves that you got it but the world still says its there. When you get back the second one is still there.
I still can't believe I missed the serpent hunter the first time I fought rykard. Somehow I completely missed it and killed his first phase off without it lol
This is neat, but its worth mentioning, you don't need 2x serpent hunters to powerstance on Rykard. Powerstancing any great spear with serpent hunter inherits the windblade. I believe if you 2h the offhand lance/vykes/etc. it should retain the effect, similar to Sentry's/Beast repellent torches working when 2handing the main weapon
Place your gold sign, wait at the fog, as soon as it says you're being summoned, go through the fog, grab your Serpent hunter, help the host, win or lose, you'll return outside your bosses fog, go through grab your second and congratulations dual serpent hunter. Or, if you're like me, drop your sign do it again 50 times just to troll your friend that wishes he had 2. :]

Because you can do these powerstance moves with just one Serpent Hunter, but the animation looks quite off, and it does way less damage than what's shown here. I'm wondering if the lance's hitbox doesn't actually do anything.
You don't actually need to glitch 2 serpent hunters into existence to do this. You can power stance with any greatspear to get this move set as long as the serpent hunter is in your right hand. When I got to NG+ I used an un-upgraded serpent hunter in my right for the wind and a fully upgraded Siluria's Tree in the left for the damage. It was about as hard as the normal fight is without any upgrades and just one serpent hunter.
Still not clear on how to get 2 serpent hunters. You pick it up in the arena, discard it, invade someone, then when you return there's another one in the arena? But you discarded the first one, so you still only have 1..
Tbh I think you should be able to power stance them in this fight since the game is only gonna get hard the more ng+'s you go so I think this fine. Maybe fix the invaded part tho and just make the one already in you inventory reactivate for this fight.
No. On NG+ the spear doesn't appear on the corpse's hand (if you have one in your inventory/chest). The only way to get it in NG+ is to discard your current spear (deleting it forever), and if a friend drops it for you, it will disappear lol. Seems like this is the only method to get 2.

Nope, if the game reads it in your inv/bank it doesn't put another one there in NG+. This allows you to get another because it basically refreshes the exact same instance you were in - 10 seconds, for example - if you pulled this off to the point where you were able to see the serpent hunter and then reloaded the game/fast traveled, it would check your inventory again when loading the area and not spawn another.

Stand outside the fog gate Start an invasion Once the ‘invading players world’ screen pops up, enter the fog gate and run to grab the spear before you get teleported to the invasion Kill all n0oBs (or die, or return to your world) Once back in your world, enter the fog gate and grab the second spear (Grabbing it while invading another player makes it so you can grab it again once you return from the invasion)
Actually, If you have cloud saving available, invading isn't necessary. Another thing Is, I reached max level thanks to cloud saving, but max level has a problem with PvP, there just aren't players to invade.

If you powerstance another great spear it gains the wind effect for the Rykard fight, does not have to be another serpent hunter.
