We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version th-cam.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.
liked the video. very helpful. I to struggled with putting the base back on until.... i noticed the the lock and unlock icon on the camera. duh, it snapped in once i lined up the unlock with the line on the base.
So the stick up camera you can place anywhere in the house you can hear what's going on as well is that an extra feature it automatically comes like that you can do that on your phone
I have this camera. I like that it’s battery powered because it frees up a plug and it’s portable. But the more movement it picks up, the quicker the battery drains. I had it in my kitchen and in a matter of 5 weeks the battery was down to about a 10%. Maybe that’s good to some. The only thing that I don’t like about it, is that I bought it to have it in my kitchen facing my sliding door. Just so I can have notification if someone or something is at my door. Because I feed some stray cats. I made sure there was no glare in the angle that it was in. But I guess because of the double pane glass, it did not pick up movement. I constantly had to go on the app to check the feed. To one night I had a huge possum at my back door chomping down on the cats dry food. I now keep it in my room by the window facing out and again it doesn’t pick up any movement like a bird flying by or when the cats jump up onto my shed. I even tested it where I opened up the range to where it would catch my neighbors yard as well. I did it for a 24 hour period to see if whenever she would go outside to put clothes up on her clothing line, if I would get some sort of notification but again nothing. I reset it back my settings, to where now it only faces my own backyard. So that’s a con, it doesn’t pick up movement from behind a window.
That confused us too. User error is always a possibility, but the more cameras we test, the more we find that "color night vision" doesn't seem to work in total darkness. Not sure if that's the case with this camera, but we've seen it in others like it
@Jay Hernandez Unfortunately, not on this one. You'll have to turn off the camera or video streaming through the app. You can set schedules though for certain times you know you'll be home or don't want to be recorded.
No, at most it will record for 2 minutes after detecting motion and there is no way to record video without watching the feed live with the app open. Even with the subscription plans it will only save video that is viewed live or caught with motion detection
Connectivity is important when using live view. First six months live was good. The past three years it drops or doesn't connect live view. Problem remained despite upgrading modem, router, upload and download speed.
@@markreynolds9135 No it sounds like the problem is with Rings Servers. I don't think it's user error. Too it could be that they need to upgrade their firmwear.
I love the camera but the video playback was horrible the person in the video would disappear a few seconds into the video and then reappear four or five seconds later it was terrible I took it back
I have the Ring Stick-Up camera in two places in my property. I find the replay quality good and acceptable. I have not had the issues mentioned above. As I don't want to deal with wires I probably acquire one with a solar panel to watch over the rear of the house (I have a south-facing rear garden, so it gets a lot of sunshine). Oh, and I'll probably pay for a subscription to continue getting the playback facility and video storage.
@@michaelanderson001 after I took it back I got the same camera but the wired version and I couldn't be happier detection is 100% spot on my only con about the camera I wish it recorded 24/7 like my wyze cameras. I have eight wyze cameras and they have given me excellent performance when I first got them a year ago I was ready to throw them in the trash but they have done some great improvements with person detection . Once in awhile I'll get some false recordings and that could be a very windy day and I've gotten that with the ring also there's pros and cons nothing is perfect with either system, it's a piece of mind if you really wanted a security system go hardwired but I really like the ring and the wyze.
Greetings, I am having a problem with my cameras going off all the time at night due to vehicle headlights setting of the motion sensor off on the camera. I have tried moving the sensitivity and the quadrant of the camera but nothing works. I called customer service and got a foreign speaking person who had no idea what she was doing and did not understand my problem. I asked to speak with a supervisor and she told me that they do not have one. I chatted with customer service on line to find out were to file a complaint and got the run around. Listen I think the product is great but your customer service is the worst. You hired people from third world countries because it was cheap. You threw a script at them and said here you go. When a person has a problem the last thing they want to here is a foreign speaking person that has never seen or used the product. Now what am I supposed to do with my problem?? Most Ring cameras have a privacy feature that you can use to block out areas in your camera's field of vision. If you're getting false alarms often, you can use this privacy feature to block out things that get in the way. Hope that helps :)

according to their site this camera does now have colour night vision.

I'm thinking about getting a ring stick cam for my deck so I can see the front door.. I have a ring doorbell on both the front and back porches.

Did they update the color night vision? On the website, it does list that feature for the battery powered stick up cam.

How different is night color mode for battery v/s wired ring camera ?
Is there away to close lens for privacy, like cover will slide and close like simplisafe camera?

The bottom of the stick up cam must be matched to to lock or unlock icons on the bottom …
Thanks for you review!!!
How does it stick. Does it use adhesive on the bottom?
Lol
what happens if you don’t have the subscription?
How long does the stick up cam record after motion detection? Can a timer be set to stay on all night?
No, at most it will record for 2 minutes after detecting motion and there is no way to record video without watching the feed live with the app open. Even with the subscription plans it will only save video that is viewed live or caught with motion detection
Excellent job! Dumb question....how do I turn off my stick up cam when I don't need it to be on? Use the app? Remove the battery? Liked and subbed.
Look up Modes. I set mine to do nothing when in Home mode.
Connectivity is important when using live view. First six months live was good. The past three years it drops or doesn't connect live view. Problem remained despite upgrading modem, router, upload and download speed.
Probably user error

Does it have a siren ? Thanks
Good question! It sure does
What feature is most important to you in a security camera?
Probably the ability to record video, which this device wont do
It doesn't? What's the point of the camera then?
who was not watching the camera 🤔
Very nicely done 👍
User error 🤔
I should have read the comment from Pamela before the struggle and my comment

That person was your wife’s boyfriend.

Oh my goodness, you are screwing on the base so incorrectly; it is laughable. I have the cam, it is extremely simple to remove and attach the base.
Sometimes you gotta mess it up to get it right. Glad you don't have any issues with yours though!
