Omg please do a part 2, this concept is too awesome to be a one off, also I actually want to see Pikachu get kindness instead of friendship, as Pikachu is often depicted as a very kind and friendly pokemon, especially in the anime
But anyway yeah definitely make a part 2 with maybe some Johto pokemon

Borpion is defo a fave, I can genuinely see it being a Pokemon and I especially like how weedle’s segmented body became the segmented tails of a scorpion!

It's the one that imo works the best as a pokemon,
While also clearly being an armour evolution.
Honestly, I could see both Nidoror and Nidoress as alternate evolutions made possible with King's Rock*. Really love those two interpretations. Borpion is also just mint.

I would LOVE to have Clefanaut be James' signature Pokemon. Jessie already has wobbuffet by her side, and Clefanaut would fit perfectly with the whole "blasting off again" thing.
I love the nidoror design! it looks insane and paired with Nidoress makes it even better!!

These designs are so good! My favorite one was the Bulbasaur armor evolution. If this were a real thing, I would definitely use it. I have two questions, though. Do the eggs cause the Pokémon to evolve straight in these evolutions or is there an unseen middle evolution? Do the Pokémon revert to their original stage similar to mega evolution?
Well Digimon tended to revert in the show so I imagine it would be similar to Mega Evolution
I can probably think of a few ways to make them permanent. Either you use the eggs on their mid evos or use the eggs on the base form, put them in the PC, and then wait 24 hours.
@@MarshtompGames it could be a case where unlike mega evolutions aslong as the pokemon is holding the armor egg then it remains in that form and once you remove the egg it reverts back to it's original stage.
These are really cool! My favorites have to be the Nidos and Cleffanaut!

@@PragMagik That would be easy and hard because Digimon do have attributes but not really so maybe just follow the 8 element you gave to the 8 Digi destined and just throw those at the egg because the egg are based on crest of Digi destined

This concept is already interesting as it is but your art and design brought out it's complete appeal. I am sold on these designs and my favorite might be Venusaur. Who'd expect a big bulky pokémon to be able to sneak up on you? That contrast is really impressive thanks to your explaination. I'd love to see more of these in the future if possible. Pherhaps take a theme from pokémon and implement it into digimon. I'd be curious to see megaevolutions of them, pokémon style. Or pherhaps even gigantamax forms? Rookie digimon ofcourse?

There's not too many gimmicks left for Pokemon to use so I was fully expecting to see amor evolutions in Gen 10
I remember a fake leak for SwSh that said Armor forms were coming funny how life works lol
@@Karn_EX I remember The anime where team rocket use power up parts and that reminded me of Battle Gear from the original Bakugan. Merging that with armor evolutions could make something interesting.
This was fantastic! I’ve loved the concepts of armor digivolution. Would love to see other pokemon with these armor evolutions. Maybe with different gens of pokemon.
Here's a thought for ya. What if the digi-eggs were inverted somehow to create dark opposites? Like, an inverted egg of courage to an egg of cowardice, focused on ice instead of fire and traps instead of direct combat, or something.

Love these crossovers! Makes it all the better seeing my favourite Pokémon stand in for my favourite Digimon.
Loved it and am glad to see more love going to the nidos my only surprise was that Pikachu was not picked for friendship with it having the mascot status, was also a starter, is electric so could lean a bit more into ice, and has clear displays of friendship given the anime.

As far as i remember, the digiegg of hope allows the digimon to evolve into digimons related to hoofed mammals and constellations only, mythological animals belong to the digiegg of light

I really enjoyed the video, especially Borpion, congratulations for the arts. This reminds me of the time when there was the rumor of armor evolution, I thought of a mechanic for that, if you can cool arts. Only Mid-Form Pokémon can use this mechanic, being the armor users, while another Pokémon on the Trainer's team (regardless of evolutionary level) will be the Armor. An example is "Scizor's Armor Charmeleon", where the Mid-Form Charmeleon equips itself with the Scizor that performs the function of a metal armor. "Scizor's Armor Charmeleon" is a Fire and Metal-type Pokémon. Armored Pokémon combine the main type of Mid-Form and the type most present in the armor of that form.

Digimon could de-evolve, pokemon have it permanent. It took me years to discover that difference. Grew up on Digimon as it was on public television.

I think that a good option for light and hope would be ralts, because of gallade and gardevoir, since both look kinda angelic, specially in their mega evolutions, I also thought about haterrenne and grimmsnarl, but grimmsnarl looks too demonic

Before I watched Digimon for the first time I was a Pokemon fan xD So I remember this generation of pokemon fondly. All of these look great but I have to talk about my faves.
Charmander is my favorite from the primary three and his armor evos with Courage and Friendship look excellent. Definitely some of my favorite designs from this video.
Bulbasaur with the digimental of Sincerity looks absolutely perfect. I love it!!
And because I love everything related to the digimentals of Hope and Light, Pegasusmon and Nefertimon, etc. And because the Pokemon episode introducing male and female Nidoran is one of my favorite Pokemon episodes that I remember to this day (it's been over 20 years that I watched Pokemon and I STILL remember that episode, it's insane!!) of course Nidoror and Nidoress are my favorites from this video👏👏👏👏 I love the designs, the concepts and whatnot. Perfect pokemons.

I also want to note that the "someone riding on a turtle's back" goes even further beyond JJBA to Japanese folklore, namely the tale of Urashima Tarou and the Dragon Palace. In it the titular Urashima saves a turtle from the abuse of small children, only to find out later that it was in fact the disguised form of the daughter of the Dragon King when he receives an invitation from her via a servant of the Dragon King in the shape of a huge sea turtle. The large turtle gives Urashima gills and guides him to the Dragon Palace by having him hold onto its shell.
I am imagining a dragonair with the digi egg of either light or love would look incredibly epic

My fav is jetoise. LOVE the blastoise cannons being jets
I cannot put to words how PHENOMENAL these evolutions were❤
I came up with signature moves for this Pokémon ( I don't know how much base power I should put in these I just did it for the theme)
Knowledge drill (ground type): does damage and increases special attack and special defence (since these stats are usually relates to the mind).
Love rocket (flying type): does damage and makes the opposite Pokémon to get infatuated regardless of gender( because love).
Hope roar (dragon type): does damage and inflicts a random status burn, paralizis, poison, sleep, freeze, confusion, infatuated, flinch ( so you hope to get the one you want).
Light barrier (fairy type): does damage and sets up a safeguard ( because of the ligt protection the talk about).
Sincerity root (ghost type): does damage and gets rid of any stat change ( you know so you remain true to yourself).
Relaiability stream (steel type): always a critical hit ( so no matter the opponents stat changes you always crit so it's reliable).
Courage crest (fire type): does recoil damage and burns the opponent ( because of the burning passion amd also people tend to be reckless when doing brave things).
Friendship bolt (electric type): always has priority and a chance to flinch ( like a quick hello from a very friendly unknown person and one is left frozen for a little bit before reacting).
i feel like pikachu and meowth can work for the golden digi eggs, specially meowth cuz it loves money/gold, maybe meowth gets miracles (team rocket's meowth learning how to speak) and pikachu gets destiny?
also for kindness i feel like chansey is really fitting cuz they help others in need even if they put themselves at risk
and chansey needs more love
So, I don't know if you're aware, but Green in the PoSpe manga would use Blastoise to fly around by having its jets blast out behind it. Jetoise might be an unintended reference to that.
I remember in the Pokémon anime season XYZ Ash and the gang meet someone in a ninja village that had a Vinesaur as their partner. May not be intentional, but good reference.
When we were kids my friend and I often thought that digimon could've taken place in the pokemon universe. Putting a pokemon into a ball/pc unit is transforming matter into light or "digitizing" it. An epic Y2K like apocalypse happens where all technology fails, trapping many pokemon in the digital world, also causing dieoffs to the point of mass extinction. Forced to adapt and evolve while society regains use of their technology. Rediscoverd generations later and renamed for their new adaptation.
"BOR" is also Drill in Bahasa Indonesia. Nice unintentionally matchup right there 👍

I just thought of the stupidest idea for a Pokémon Armor evolution. Gastly with the digiegg of light of friendship that turns into a lightbulb. He is now the glowing element inside of that lightbulb

I was expecting that super cheery lead-in to Karn appearing to have a subversion in that it would've turned out his cold (from the video on his channel) would have gotten worse and he couldn't record.
Rootasaur is my favorite, for obvious reasons (Ninja frog), though Nidoror is a close second.
Charatops could be a fire and rock type as there is a pokemon ability called rock head which compliments the triceratop's main portrayed choice of offense

Also the part of ARMORING Pokemon is the most visible in here (cuz it's in a soupcan rocket (I'm joking it looks nice)
Like rest of them have something ... but not as visible (I mean most of them doesn't look like armour/plating but rather like natural part on Mon.) But I don't know digimon well so I don't know how much intention it was
As we kind of explained in the video, "armor" evolution doesn't mean it is literally armor plated. It is aspects of the DigiEgg incorporated into a stretched out or altered version of the initial mon.

Edit: Also, you could have gone a route with the Friendship Egg for Charmander to get an ability like Steelworker, but for Ice Type moves instead.

My suggestions would be:
Dratini + Digimental of Miracles
Pidgey + Digimental of Destiny
Porygon + Digimental of Kindness
Rattata + Digimental of Darkness
Another one is Eevee with all Digimentals
There are some Pokemon that kind of have a third typing with some abilities like Dhelmise with Steelworker.
Also, it looks like Teras are “gain another STAB” instead of “replace your STAB(s) with another”, if the demo reports are to be believed.

These are amazing!! I like all of them, and would genuinely use all of these mons.
Some of these mons would be awesome to see as either standalone Evo lines, or as alternate Evo lines for their respective baby pokemon.

A video of Pokémon with their well known trainer fused together like in Digimon Tamers and Frontier could be really cool! So like Cynthia with Garchomp, Ash with Pikachu, Steven with Metagross, etc. Could even do the Masters 8 that’s going on right now.
