Beautiful knife, love the elk antler scales. Thanks for sharing.
@@jimkastor3876 Thanks for having a look. I'm very pleased with how this turned out.
This video helped me pull the trigger on my own Buck custom. I went with a 112, elk, nickel, finger grooves, and mirror polishing with the same soft sheath. It just arrived and is a real beauty!
I'm looking to get a 112 custom in the future. Thanks for the feedback TB.
Those are some of the BEST Elk scales I've seen. Just gorgeous.
Agreed. "Would you look at it, just look at it" some might say. 😄
@@ThriftyKaniffy do you know if they ship these to europe?
@@PineappleElephant68 I wanna say no, but I'm not 100% sure.
@@ThriftyKaniffy I'd love to order one similar to yours, with elk scales. I live in Poland.
Look at puma
Beautiful knife and sheath ! I have Never Liked the classic black. I also am now buying things I wanted as a kid that were unattainable. I have 3 Buck 110’s now. A 110 auto elite I obviously didn’t need but wanted , it is Very Cool ! 🎉
Being a grown-up has it's advantages. Thanks, Mainewoods.
Black is buck.
Awesome 🤩
Glads you like it, Mike. Thanks for watching.
Nice I just go my 110 s30v with ebony scale and love it like you I all ways wanted one and after 60 years finally got one LOL be giving to my grandson after i pass
Right on. It's one of those knives where the basic would do fine, but everyone has one of those, how about something a bit different.
Wow what a beautiful, well made, American knife.
Thanks, Martin. Welcome to the channel.
@@ThriftyKaniffy I once try to EDC Buck 110 in a leather sheath on my belt... After 3 days I hated it. Prove to be way too heavy for me.
I have 3 of these Elk Custom 110's! 2 for the safe, one for carry. The one I carry has the Nickel bolsters with the s30v clip point blade. In the safe I have a Nickel as well as a Brass version-both s30v clip points. All are beautiful works of Art to say the least.
Cool stuff Wamps. Loading up the safe. They are a real treat in S30V.
Now that is a beautiful knife!!!
Thanks very much, Harbin.
Very nice. I didn't know they had a custom shop.
Oh yea, you can go bankrupt real quick in there. Thanks for having a look, William.
Very cool.
Thanks, Phillip.
Classic and beautiful Buck 110. My wish list is with silver bolsters and no rivets. Thank you for showing yours!
Elk handles seem to be the one to get. Thanks Alan.
That is one gorgeous knife, John! It will make a very nice keepsake. Thanks for sharing, my friend!
Hey "Buck"aroo. Good to see you, Tom. Thanks for having a look. I'll very much treasure this one for all my living days. ❤
Beautiful knife. I like your choice of Elk Horn with brass. I’m thinking of ordering a custom 110 also with Magnucut steel for the blade, nickel bolsters, with either ironwood or elk horn and the distressed brown sheath. That puts the price right at $230-255 depending on which handle I go with. From a pricing standpoint, considering that most production knives from brands like Spyderco or Benchmade will cost even more and that’s not even going the custom route, I’d say the Buck is a good value. Dollar for dollar.
I'm just glad they've provided the Magnacut option. It really does provide one with some well rounded choice in a knife from Buck.
Beauty of a Buck ya got yourself there Thrifty! I appreciate the choice to include the pins, adds to the character of the knife, IMHO. If it’s money we’ll spent it qualifies as a thrifty purchase! Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for watching Knice Slice. I felt the options chosen worked well together and the pins give it a little something extra.
Great knife. like the drop point more than the clip point. Cheers!
I thought it'd be nice to have something different from the normal clip point. I like it too.
@@ThriftyKaniffy Yes i agree. I have also a Buck collection and i got myself a 119 pro and a 103 pro skinner with the S35VN steel to use during the moose hunt but my favorites are still the early hand made German Puma knifes. My favorite modell is the Jagdnicker mod.3589. They are beauties.... Cheers!
@@rapalaron6348 Just looked up the Jagdnicker. Very cool knife, Rapalaron.
@@ThriftyKaniffy Yeah it's great. Look up the Böker Optima too mate. This is my EDC for more than 30 years. The blades can be changed in seconds and it makes it the most versatile knife for hunting, fishing and outdoor use. I like the 110 but that Böker is an other level...😁
That sure beats a new tie for Christmas. Great choice on the elk stag and blade. Love made in the USA Buck.I have played with the Buck custom shop site and built my dream 110. But have not pulled the trigger yet. Seeing your really helps. Also the sheath is a very nice addition. Thanks for sharing!
The custom shop tool is a lot of fun to play with. Hoping to save up for another custom next year or sooner. Thanks, a0800500.
A grail indeed!!!! Absolutely beautiful 110, buddy. Cheers!
Thanks so much David. Whew, those handles blow me away.
That is a really beautiful knife! They really do fantastic work in their custom shop. Congratulations!
Thanks Rick. They sure do, and it makes me want more. Going to have to save.
Congrats on getting that custom 110. It really is a beautiful knife. I really like those elk handles. That upgraded sheath was a good choice too. It really goes well with the knife. Thanks For showing it to us. Have. Great day!!
Thanks very much for the kind sentiments. That sheath is lovely. I think I'll get more. Take care, Dean. Have a nice Sunday.
Wow man look at that Elk on the handle, the brass bolsters are a good choice in my opinion, because it really makes the Elk stand out. Awesome knife John.
Yea the brass gives it some nice pop I think. Much appreciated Jeroen. 😺
@@ThriftyKaniffy i agree, the brass makes the elk look really good. I tend to to nickel bolsters on my customs but your knife is great as well
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! I have a soft spot for Stag handled knives and that one is a dandy!! They matched the stag up perfectly too! Thanks for sharing!! Take care TK!
Thanks Doomcrew. This one is a special one indeed. Lot of time spent wondering "if only" in my younger years so a bit of a grail.
@@ThriftyKaniffy absolutely! It’s a real beauty for sure!
You made a great choice on everything! The only thing I like better than the Elk is Sambar Stag, which unfortunately, they don’t offer anymore in the 110 sized knife. I like the drop point blade the best too. The brown distressed leather is the best looking choice.
Yes I noticed that, kind of a bummer. I guess the stag is difficult to pin. Thanks, boykinlp.
One handsome knife my friend that Elk Stag is stunning.
They handles are some of the nicest I own. Thanks for having a look Lewis.
I purchased almost the exact knife (got the silver nickle bolsters) , but other than that . Exact. And its a gorgeous knife. The elk is museum quality .
Very cool. Near twins. The custom shop did it right. Terrific quality.
That is one gorgeous knife. You chose very well. I will need to start a custom shop fund! Thanks for showing us your grail and congratulations to you for obtaining it!
Thanks, RJ. I owe you one buddy. We'll talk.
A real beautiful 110!!!
Thank you, and welcome to the channel.
Very nice! Buck is running a 15% off custom knife builds for a short time! Just ordered a 112, finger grooves, elk, polished blade, and nickel silver bolsters!
Tempting. Thanks Wazzer.
That is one nice Christmas present! Good choice in a custom.
T'was the season. Thanks for having a look, Tiger
On your next custom, build the finger groves with elk in nickel silver on the website. The silver color blends beautifully with the white in the elk. That’s my second favorite. My favorite is the nickel silver with water buffalo handle. Very classy.
I may get another with finger grooves, but I need a custom 112 first. Thanks, vwr32jeep
Buck does antler sooo well
They source some good stuff. Thanks, Mike
Wow! What a beautiful blade brother! Great job picking out your materials and blade shape!
Thanks Boston, I think I did okay. 👍
@@ThriftyKaniffy you did great! 🔪

Very nice knife. Just ordered mine, but with the nickel bolsters. Think it goes better with the Elk horn. Got the same distressed sheath.
That’s a great choice, thanks for watching, Talon
That's a heck of a piece! Really nice. Beautiful. That is a stunner for sure.
Great review.
Thanks for sharing.
Thank Feline. 😻
Mine was marked shipped today. I got the brass, with elk as well. But I got the standard clip point blade instead of the S30V. Plus had my name put on the right rear bolster. Nice knife! I hope my elk scales looks as good as yours!
Fantastic. I hope you enjoy it, 1965kid.
Beautiful knife! Thanks for showing it and the various options available! Lost my standard 110 a couple years back and never replaced it as I had other knives that filled in for it but this video has me thinking of getting one. I had no idea that Buck was offering such options! Wow!! 👍👍
Yes plenty of options available for many different knives. The standard is no slouch either. Thanks for watching Leash.
congrats TK! a beautiful knife!
Thank you! Glad you like the Custom Buck.
Excellent workmanship on this one brother! nice choices TK, You'll get another one. Hard to pass up 😂
Have a great Sunday my friend ✌️
Thanks very much. You too Warthogg, very good to see and hope you're doing well. Gotta save up again for Christmas '23. Maybe a 55 or 112 next time around. 👍
Beautiful, Great blade choice, handles came out perfect, thanks for showing it.
The Elk is the best choice IMO. Crazy nice work on the handles. Thanks for the kind words, Jose.
Beautiful classic design! Love that stag!!!
👍 Classic indeed. The KING of lockbacks.
Beautiful Knife TK, enjoy!
Thanks David. I'll just sit here and stare it a while longer if you don't mind. 😃
@@ThriftyKaniffy I TOTALLY know that feeling. Last year my kids did they same thing for me . . . 110 Custom for XMAS. almost identical knife as yours except nickel silver and finger grooves. I swear I stared and held that knife for weeks. I still do for time to time. It seems like it took forever to arrive (only 2 months like they say) but when it came it was love at first sight. Since then i've had a squire customized (red bone which is freaking awesome) and plan on eventually the 112. Enjoy my friend!!! Doesn't get much better than this!
Absolute work of art sheath too. Buck has done it again. Excellent choice sir.
Thanks so much. The seemed good choices. I'm very happy with the way it turned out. Cheers, Chris
You did the right thing.
No finger grooves on the stag.
I love the distressed leather sheath (it's the only one I could find that's capable of holding a Boker Davis). I'd highly recommend it for any Buck collector.
Don;t like the finger grooves , eh? Looking to get more of the sheaths, Zen. Thanks.
@Thrifty Kaniffy I'm ok with finger grooves, just not on the stag.
@@Zen_Ali_123 Gotcha. I hear you're the Boker man, Zen. Words getting around.
@Thrifty Kaniffy They've always been my main thang, but I also collect Buck, GEC, and Case, some Pro Tech, Victorinox, scout and bushcraft knives. Then there's Sheffield and modern traditional.
Understandably, I've put Schrade and Camillus to rest.
I forgot Queen and Schatt.
I'm moving into a more focused stage of collecting, believe it or not.🤪
mm i debated hard on my 110's handle material for a while. i definitely wanted the elk, but i was more drawn to the look of the cherry wood.
so in the end i wound up making my custom with the finger grooved cherry wood handle with nickel bolsters (with rivets), s30v drop point blade, and some engravings (identification on one side of the blade and bolsters and a quote from my late grandmother on the opposite side of the blade.)
Sounds like you really made this one your own. Thanks for sharing, Jester
Congratulations Thrifty that's beautiful knife and nice choice of sheath
Thanks. Sometimes you have to really treat yourself. Life is too short.
Holy mackerel- she's a beaut - s30 w their heat treat gotta be an absolute beast. And that sheath 😳--- great choices
Thanks Chad. Very kind. Have a great Sunday.
Wow, that's a gorgeous knife and excellent choice of materials! Congrats!!!
Thanks Aztecs, lots of choices, but I think it turned out great. Love the handles.
Very sharp! I did cut my thumb, 🤣 Just got my Buck custom. Same knife except oak instead of antler. Your antler is gorgeous. Got the same sheath too, and it is nice. Something about good steel, oak, antler, brass and fine leather in a tool that connects to generations past.
The Buck custom shop is a great playground for knife lovers. Expensive though. Thanks, Doug.
Very beautiful knife and sheath.
Thanks, Terrance. BTW, Congrats on the Ash Viper. It's on the way.
@@ThriftyKaniffy Thank you...I first saw it on your channel.
My favorite knife I have a custom that’s very similar to this.. I have a 110 collection but I use them all and the drop points are my favorite for field dressing deer
The 110 is a truly iconic knife. There's so many different variations that it's easy to find one to suit you. Thanks, Greg.
I had also wanted to get one of these elk handle 110s for a long time and ordered one last year as well. I got the polished blade with half serrated to be a little different. I had the same the thought about not getting a finger grooved version. I guess we both need to add it to the knife wish list. Beautiful well-made knife.
I don't think I'd object to another custom Buck in the collection. LOL. Thanks, Keith.
Pretty darn snazzy. Can't go wrong with a good Buck knife. I need to check out the custom shop. That's pretty cool.
Lots of cool stuff in the custom shop. Lots of expensive stuff in he custom shop too. 🤐 Thanks Frog.
@@ThriftyKaniffy If you love it it's worth it.
Very, very nice I didn't know they do drop point,I got Alaskan Guide in S30V and Rosewood scales and I don't feel like using it,it's almost sacrilege.. I have plenty of other knives but I had to get 110 for my collection, now I just need 119 and 120 I believe...
Two great fixed blades also. So many Bucks, so little cash. Thanks.
Just put my order in with Buck--> Magnacut clip-point blade, brass pins & bolsters, & cherry 🍒 wood. ✨️👌
Cool stuff. Sounds like a winning combination.
Soo nice! I was just looking at some Buck's was over at my friends he had a buck i gave him 7 yrs ago still going so i wanted to buy myself one haha , This ones so nice With the ELk and drop!
Sounds like you caught some Buck fever! It's contagious. Thanks, Don.
That is one beautiful knife TK! I love the change in blade style. Thank you for the video.! I would work that thing proudly!👍🏻👍🏻🤠🤠

Good seeing you Knife Detector. This one is pretty special.
110 % Beautiful . 100 % Made in the U.S.A. 👍
Agreed. They do fine work over there in Post Falls, Idaho.
Nice choice TK! That knife is beautiful. Buck"s really killin it lately. I think the custom shop is a great thing by Buck. Hope to pay it a visit in the near future. Very nice.👍👍
They do an awesome job. Gonna have to get another for X-mas '23. 👍
Good stuff!!! I'm glad you got one of your grayle knives and an eye wateringly nice choice it was too!!! Not sure I'd use it either but it would be very tempting to take it out once!
It is tempting. VERY. Though I must say I can take it out and give it an open or two and nothing more and still enjoy that immensely. Thanks JK, I'm glad you get it.
Beautiful piece. That's my absolute ultimate holy. I just might try to order one in a couple months.
They did a great job with it. If you can swing one, then I'm betting you'll really enjoy it.

It’s very very nice and it makes me more ready to order a custom 113 now I was wondering what the distressed leather looks like and am pleasantly surprised Thanks for sharing TK
Yes, I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the sheath is. Gonna have to find some more. Thanks, Terrill.
Gorgeous!
Welcome to the channel. Thanks for having a look furyxan. 👍
Wow! Makes me want to get a custom 112, despite the price. Thanks TK!
Whew! The Buck custom shop is not Thrifty my friend. Caution to the wallet. Thank you, Dean.
Super nice knife
Thanks very kindly, Cariboojohn. A classy piece.
I like that it's a drop point
Makes it a bit different than the regular clip point. Cool.👍
Nice Christmas present bro. You need both grip styles, and then both on 112's too. Go ahead, you know I'm right. Muh ha ha! I made a silver 112 with S30V steel for my son, has blue wood, pins, and finger groves, looks nice. Blue and silver look good together. Got the same sheath as you, very good choice. You have good taste.
Thanks SFB glad you think so. The Custom 112 is on the wish list as well a custom 55. I need to pick up the basic 119 fixed too.

That is a great Christmas Gift, 🤣😂👍
I thought so too. Pricey, but worth it. Thanks for having a look, Gizmo.
Such great re-watch-ability (if that's a term LOL). I'm hesitant to purchase because I've heard some elk scales don't have enough "bark." I guess I'll just keep re-watching you vid in the meantime. Thanks again!
Well I hope the Elk has bark on my latest custom order. We will see I guess. Thanks for the watch and re-watch, Aztecs.
That’s gorgeous, man. I love that. The handles are damn near perfect.
Have you ever seen the Blade HQ exclusive 110 in green micarta/brass and S45VN?
Yes, I've been tempted by that one as well. Thanks for the kind remarks, Area51.
@@ThriftyKaniffy yes, sir. Thank you for all the great videos. I love all the Case and Buck content.
I actually have one of those BHQ exclusive 110s being delivered to me today. I couldn’t resist the sale price. $129 is a good deal IMO. It’s basically a custom shop model. I bought one and the next day noticed they were out of stock. I’ll let you know how the fit and finish and everything is when I get it.
Beautiful Buck 🗡
Thanks very kindly, Bruce. It's an heirloom quality piece.
Was just looking at that knife on Buck site. Have buck with s30v blade . Really hold edge.
Indeed. The S30V will last. The Magnacut even longer.
That's a beauty !
I think so too! What more can you say about Buck. Crazy good scales.
Bought 110 stag in 1983/4 for $85. No rivets, glued and one side came and I missed placed it, in a move. When I started making knives I fixed it.🤠🇺🇸
Good work, Gates. Love the stag.
I have a Buck 110 silver switchblade knife it was in the 250$ range too.
But I love it
Awesome knife. If only I had more money than knives I wanted. Thanks, David.
Really nice! Wish they made the automatic 110 with the elk.
Probably hard to do with a hole in the middle necessary. Thanks Bullard.
Lovely knife. Good choices on the options.
Thanks, very nice to say North Star. The Buck custom shop is pretty awesome. It might be an annual tradition I've started for myself.
very nice.
So nice. Thanks, Cooter. Welcome to the channel.
Enjoyed watching your video, I have a Buck 110, Brass with manual open, recieved it as a gift from my wife 2016 or 2017, I have a few knives, good knives but they are mostly sentimental gifts from loved ones and friends passed on, but the Buck 110 that I have is my favorite, such a well crafted piece, your opinion, I am thinking about buying a Buck 110 automatic action, are they reliable & good ?
The automatics are great! You won’t be disappointed.
@ThriftyKaniffy thank you !
damn that's a case queen knife for sure
She's awful purdy. Thanks for watching.,
Imo it looks better without finger grooves. It looks cleaner.
I agree, but can't say I won't eventually have a version of each.

How do you sharpen pocket knives? Can you make a video on the subject? My Wicked Edge system doesn't work so well for smaller blades.
There's lots of sharpening videos already out there. This is the system I use and I can get it to work with smaller blades just as this video shows. th-cam.com/video/2wZBpYgIxsI/w-d-xo.html
Wish they would add the drop point option to the 112 Custom Shop Knife.
That'd be a nice. Thanks for the comment, Devil.
Got the same knife with the 340V satin blade and no rivets. Also had my name engraved on it.
Sounds like a beautiful knife, William. Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel.
If you going to pass the knife down to you family members have your name engraved on the blade or handle. 9:48
The GSM Cold Steel Recon 1 is the new Buck 110. Satin finish version.
Alrighty then. Thanks.
Seems Buck no longer allows customization to have rivets with the elk handle. Wonder why
Yes seems strange, but I guess it's a little more difficult. Thanks, Nick.
I’m on the fence with the fingergrooves
As am i. I do think I need to get at least one example though. Thanks, Mike.
Are the elk scales the only available scales with a palm swell? Looks like the other scales offered are flat.
I believe that to be the case.
Is the button of the sheat covered on the inside or does it rub against the knife bolsters or handles?
I am considering to order my first custom Buck 110 too, Nickel Bolsters, mirror polished blade 420HC blade and handles in Ironwood. But I am not sure if I should order it with or without rivets ... since its final destination is Germany I am considering what would look nicer ... :) cheers PS not because Germany but because its probably first and last I can order :)
The sheath button isn't covered, but is pretty smooth. I don't really see an issue. On other sheaths I've used a small piece of adhesive felt to cover it and prevent rub. Good luck on your order, Careoran.
@@ThriftyKaniffy My Custom 110 in Ironwood finally arrived. What an trip getting it to Germany, but it was well worth it, a true work of art, great craftsmanship, love it
Lovely,, you need to carry it, and use it every day, for the rest of your life, then it will mean so much more, to whoever gets to receive it, as an heirloom..
(imho),,
True, but I've got so many other users that won't be a problem. Thanks, John.
nice
Thank you kind sir.
I have one like that. But mine don't have rivets. The color is lighter. by the handle is thicker cost me almos 200.00 and I think it was well worth it. Oh thecwrote my name on the blade, and the brass part wrote God's love! My son said thatbit is a cool knife. Oh, it has fingers Grove Thanks God bless AMERICA!
Nice custom. Thanks for having a look.
Can you slice with this knife? There is a guy on TH-cam who made a video and stated drop point is thicker and cannot slice like a clip point.
This one's a safe queen. I imagine the clip point would be a better slicer
where did you buy that
The Buck website has a custom shop to build you own knife. You should definitely check it out. Thanks, M.I.
You can't get the drop point anymore, and you can't get the rivets with the elk anymore either. 😥
Yes, it's become unobtainable now. A real shame.
How can I get my custom elk silver??
These are available on Buck's website in their Custom Shop. www.buckknives.com/custom-knife-shop/
But How much?
I don't recall the exact price around 150.
I really wanted to get a 501 in magnacut. Seems like it would make a perfect edc. Their custom shop is actually relatively affordable, but I didn’t want “Custom Knife Shop” stamped on the blade. I even emailed and asked them and was told no, it will always custom knife shop. Wtf? Being too picky maybe, but I pay $200+ for a custom knife and I can’t customize it to not say that? Weak. Anyway, beautiful knife.
Yes that's strange to me, figured they would let you. Sorry to hear it.
