- Part 326 of L&L 1981
Rick goes to talk to Lee. It's not good. The foursome; Luke, Laura, Tiffany and Laura chat at the hospital. Amy comes and ruins the mood. (Comments from the peanut gallery: Not for nothing but Tristan Rogers, Tony Geary, Genie Francis and Sharon Wyatt as Robert, Luke, Laura and Tiffany, sitting arounda table talking about NOTHING is more interesting than ANYTHING on current day GH! JMHO!!!)
This will be easier to follow from the L&L 1981 playlist on my channel / sussezq (where you can also find 1979-80, and 2001-2002 playlists)

Text comments always GREATLY appreciated. I love to discuss the story. Makes all the sharing worth it for me. Please I understand everyone's frustration... but there are plenty of other message boards to vent on. Please do not say anything negative about a real human being. (Say what you will about characters.) I will delete any comment that is mean spirited, regardless of who they are about. Hope you understand.
Please pardon any problems with video quality. Original source is old VHS.
All clips owned, property of ABC, GH, Soapnet.
I didn't know that of Lee. He plays the role really well.
Yes Lee is an alcoholic. It is very, very sad... but that is what was so good about this storytelling. You got both sides of the story and it was so much more realistic. It made you feel all kinds of emotions! That is what art is supposed to do!! No "shut up" is not a nice thing to say.. but Luke Spencer has said it on more than one occasion. We know he is not a saint.. and certaily didn't have his mom around long enough to instill that kind of etiquette in him.
This is the real Rick they ruined his character later.
Amy! No filter 😂😂
Lee Baldwin? That must have been some conversation. I mean everybody knows Luke he hates your guts.
Luke: SHUT UP AMY! SHUT UP!
ROFL! Amy never quits! :)
Yes, sonyab1974! This classic response from Luke, who may as well have been speaking on behalf of every character and every GH fan who ever wanted to tell Amy to "shut up!", was just a gift from the writers. Thanks and RIP, Shell Kepler. Your portrayal of annoying Amy Vining was Superb!
So sad we lost Shell......Amy would have woken up GH with her antics,at least it would have been something to watch these days
I think everyone got so caught up in the hype that is Luke and Laura and saving the world... the whole thing kind of went un-thought about until now... with this whole situation with the divorce papers. It was great story telling, great drama, wonderful writing... to make everyone step back and once again see Scott's side of this story through Lee. Scotts side of the story is a big part of L&L... always has and always will be.. look at 2008!
Hate Lee, but the actor really plays being drunk very well. The anger, slurring words, etc. is perfect.
Mmm, I kinda like the relaxed, hangout awesome foursome dinners and lunches and them talking about work, weddings, future plans and the divorce papers. It's a little slice of real life (which is not always adventurous) and definitely the calm before the next storm. It's always nice to have a little breather before the next 'adventure' ;0)
Oh gosh! I would have told Amy to shut and leave the table. People only tolerate her because she's Laura's sister but she's kind of a jerk most of the time. Would any of you have her around you? Not me...
Rick is so dense he had to know Lee had been drinking just like he didn’t recognize Laura was in love with Luke during the disco days.
Amy's a jealous, sneaky snot!!!
"If that runs in your blood we're in trouble." Doesn't Luke know that Laura and Amy are not related through blood?
I know I've made this comment somewhere before, but I enjoyed Amy's character. Her character was written with a very specific intent - to move the plot. In some instances, where a "reveal" was necessary, but it wasn't able to be pulled off by any other character, Amy's character would spill the beans, causing a dramatic movement in the plot. We weren't supposed to like her character, but she was necessary in the course of the story.
I agree great character!
Amy is ridiculous, but Shell did do a good job with the character.
@sussezq Well no Luke isn't a saint but he does have manners. I don't know where he got the manners from. :) It's just Amy has such a big mouth! She doesn't stop! So yeah I can understand why Luke told her to shut up. :)
GF is stunning
Oh, Shell Kipler was superb in the role of Amy! Every time she comes over to 'chat' with someone about something that isn't her business it makes me recoil in my skin 25 years later. Now that's what you call good acting.
IDK why Lee is drinking its not like he's getting a divorce
Amy always puts her foot in her mouth, she was so aggrivating!lol
It was kinda of insensitive of Rick to ask Lee to help Laura get her divorce papers, given the fact that Scotty is his son, and Laura is divorcing Scotty! And Scotty left town over it. I don't think Rick would have appreciated it if the situation was reversed.
I so agree......why would you go to someone who is mourning (it is a mourning) for his son and it was YOUR daughter who is conenected to Scott's desent to the dark side. You KNOW Lee of all people is not going to want to sit there and politley discuss bridal shower preparations! What was Ric thinking?? He could have gone there and comforted him as a friend and let hime vent and just not bring up Laura.
They definitely did... and you could see why that would happen with her past, and Lesley loosing her... make you understand whey she comes off as spoiled and self centered when she was younger.. and helps you appreciate even more the woman she becomes later. Good storytelling.(JMHO!)
Them sitting around the table talking about nothing is MORE...i can't even say GH is interesting right now b/c everything that comes out of almost every character is an eyerow statement...Hoping GH will get better especially with the characters/storylines that are coming!!!
I lost interest in watching gh after Luke left town permanently.......he was the only character that never got boring......they really should bring back the dvx and wsb,
Amy! I get excited every time she shows up.
Damn! Lee is mean when he's drinking.
Certainly did!!! Wonderful actor.
I would have empathy for her and her impulse control problem... but that's just me! ; )
Hello Sus.....thanks again for all these clips,do you know of anyway I can watch GH from the beginning? Would love to see how Lee and Gail met,Steve and Audrey,Leslie getting pregnant with Laura, the whole storyline behind that ,just to see everything from the beginning to present day.....hope you can help......have a great day
If Amy were my sister, I would have politely asked her to leave the table. With a matter this sensitive to all parties involved (L&L and The Baldwins) that they're all still going thru Amy's diarrhea of the mouth was a bit too much for me in this scene.
I feel bad with the story of Lee. Did he have this problem before? I like normal Lee Baldwin... This is one makes me sad.
Is yelling at Amy and telling her to shut-up appropriate? I taught my kids not to say that.
@jasoncarly Peter Hansen
I don't blame Lee for being angry. No one seems to care what he is going through except Gail. Laura and Luke should have more patience and understanding as they are to blame for Scotty taking off. I understand why he burned the papers. She never should of went to that law office for her divorce, but Laura once again only thinks of herself. Sometime I like her other, not so much.
Well actually Laura hired Joe Kelly to handle the divorce after her other attorney moved to London and then later Joe joined Lee's law firm. I did really appreciate when Laura came back in 1993, she had a really good talk with Scotty. She sincerely apologized for everything that she had put him through back then. It was a really sweet moment.
