Giving him a TBM would be a curse - imagine the cost of annual and the lack of personal flying he’d get for that cost of annual… this would be a gift that kept on taking…
STEVIO,HELLO,NICE FLIGHT,WHATS JET A GOING FOR AT HOME BASE ?,only been to MOBILE BAR,& BIRMINGTON AIRPORT,in the days of EASTERN, STAY WELL,,,,🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Steveo. Big fan of yours! Our daughter is a student at UA, made that flight to/from KFMY-KTCL twelve times past year. Hope you enjoyed your stay. Hawthorn crew are the best. Roll Tide! 🐘🐘
Dannelly Field (Montgomery Regional Airport) is home to the Alabama Air National Guard's 187th Fighter Wing (Red Tails), which is expected to be home to the F-35 Lightning around December 2023. Runway (and other) improvements are largely in preparation for the F-35s' arrival.
It’s good to see the basic traffic pattern in use and watching a professional pilot land at those smaller Class D airports. You have my dream job Steve-O.
Missed being on board had to come back, after my career in as ATTSS for the FAA it is amazing I chose to fix NAV-AID’s and not flying. Thank you for letting us come along
Really enjoy you channel Steve been following you for the last 6 months, big regret in life was not getting my pilots license, but I’m almost 60 so the window is closing, however, my company is finally getting drones, I’m hoping to take my Part 107 test in March, watching your videos and listening to you communicate on the radio makes it easier for me to understand the material I am studying…. keep the videos coming
Steveo, sorry for a random comment on an older video, but I hate I missed this video and you being at KTCL! That is my home town and where my aviation journey began! So cool you got to fly in there, if you're ever back I will be sure to give you some good recommendations on stuff to do and places to eat! Been a follower of your page for a long while and glad you got to visit my home. And yes, the saying is: "Roll Tide!"
This video hits home for me, big time! Grew up in TCL, my father flies a Pilatus out of there to this day. Out of high school I joined the Navy as an air traffic controller, so I’m removed from the city for now. But I plan to work at the tower in TCL in my retirement!
steveo not sure if you'll see this but in motorsports people use this stuff called flock on the dashes to reduce glair, if you bought a dash flocking kit that might be able to reduce the glair from that vent in front of the wind screen
Easy fix for that cockpit dashboard vent metal reflection into the windscreen: paint it matte black like the back of a prop. Someone missed that in the design spec!
Steveo, a quick idea for you regarding the vent reflection on the windshield. I have similar problems with my car when the sun is at the wrong place. Take a small towel and temporarily cover the vent if able for a short period of time. This prevents the sun from reflecting back onto the windshield. Safe flying and happy travels. I love traveling along on each and every one of your flights. :)
Thank you sir - nice flight. Don't know if I said this to you before. But Hooker Harness's are made here in town. I drive by their location a lot during a month. I know some of one youtuber uses them in his 170. They always had a booth up at the Oshkosh air fest. Hope that the owners / crew / family and you are doing well. Take care.
I grew up in Alabama. Now live in South Carolina and got my pilot certificate to be able to fly back home to Alabama to visit kids and Grandkids. Our oldest son became a pilot at 17 and actually had an emergency landing at Dannly Field.
You are blessed with a fantastic Job man and you can tell you absolutely love your job, Not many people can say that as I’m sure you already know! Love the videos
Stevio, It's always a pleasure "flying" with you. That's a serious Foot ball town and I really liked that "Sweet Home Alabama", theme you added to the music, that's a great song!! Cheers, Rik Spector
A good new year start with a flight of Steveo ! So cloudy than in France (but not the same temperature). Thank you Sir, for this moment of great pleasure .
I love living vicariously through your videos. I have really bad eyesight and some mental stuff from the military that keeps me from ever flying. Thanks for doing what you do.
Great video Steveo. It never ceases to amaze me the size of US college football stadiums. In the UK, you'd be lucky to have one man and his dog watching a college game.
construction is to get ready for the F35's for the Alabama Nat Guard. and that is the best airport to catch a regional jet. Literally arrive 1 hour before flight and still sit and wait for 30 minutes to board.
Know I’m about a month late but I work in the area at Atlanta Center that oversees part of Montgomery approach going west towards BHM and TCL, pretty cool to see some familiar airspace!
Roll Tide, Nice to see you flying into airports I’ve flown into. Several family members attended Bama, and still have family in the area. My trip in the 172 from Florida takes a bit longer:) Thanks for the views.
Great video. Love this channel. So envious of the flights you take and the planes you fly. You do an excellent job explaining each step you take before and during the flight. Sometimes I feel that I can do it. LOL! Hope you had a great time and a wonderful dinner. Looking forward to the next video. Keep up the excellent work. Take care.
Great video! Thank you so much for taking a couple minutes on your return trip to MGM to chat with me and get a couple pictures. It made my day! Hope to catch you again sometime! -Kerry
The TBM 800-900 series is such a great performing and great looking airplane. I'd love to fly one of these (at least once) and even when walking into an FBO from flying a business jet, TBMs always get my attention when they are on the ramp. Such a cool airplane!
The vent is made from a reflective material. You can cover it with non reflective piece that is cut to conform to grid pattern. Daher may have something available or you can have it made.
Man, I’ve driven between Tuscaloosa and Montgomery several times. It takes a lot longer than 20 minutes to drive it! I really enjoyed the flight. During football season, some of my Alabama customers will end their phone calls by saying, “Roll Tide.”
Another great Vid. Get the engineer who works on plane to pop out the vent covers and paint them in Non Reflective MATT BLACK or SATIN BLACK Paint instead & pop them back in. TBH entire thing probably like 1 hour job :D (tho is that allowed dont know)
Could you maybe paint or sand the pilot side vent just under the windshield to a more mat black or the same color / texture as the panel surrounding the vent ? Just a thought :) . Love your vids
14:49 isn't that the truth... A couple of weeks ago I had a huge argument with a family member about them being lazy around the house... That afternoon I had a training flight for my instrument rating. I was dreading it because I was so pissed. After the flight I realized I didn't even think about the issues at home for even a second during the flight. I was 100% focused on the training and flying. It felt so good to be up in the air and away from it all.
Your videos are great inspiration and motivation....question, how does one manage VNAV in the climb phase, with waypoint ALT restrictions on a SID for instance? What would be the proper way to manage ALT restrictions during climb, on a SID for instance, in an aircraft like the TBM 850 that doesn't have VNAV guidance on the climb?
My escape from things for half an hour. Thankyou Steve-O
Indeed! Actually should be longer sometimes
It's much like a routine checklist for me...
My thoughts exactly, I relax watching these videos. I really like the music selection as well.
You’d think all of the attention you’ve drawn to the TBM, Daher would give you a 960. You’ve earned it! Best wishes.
Giving him a TBM would be a curse - imagine the cost of annual and the lack of personal flying he’d get for that cost of annual… this would be a gift that kept on taking…
Steve, I'm retired controller from Atlanta Center and that was my old airspace in today's video. Brought back a lot of good memories. Cheers
Great to fly along with you Steveo! Loved the music and the few bars of "Alabama" at the end!! 👍
STEVIO,HELLO,NICE FLIGHT,WHATS JET A GOING FOR AT HOME BASE ?,only been to MOBILE BAR,& BIRMINGTON AIRPORT,in the days of EASTERN, STAY WELL,,,,🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I worked at that FBO when I was 19 ( 30 years ago) it was called Bama Air at that time. Also did my solo on runway 4.
Thanks for the post flight shots, Steve-O. It really adds to the enjoyment to see a bit of where you go.
Cheers
Max
Steveo. Big fan of yours! Our daughter is a student at UA, made that flight to/from KFMY-KTCL twelve times past year. Hope you enjoyed your stay. Hawthorn crew are the best. Roll Tide! 🐘🐘
The stadium you were looking for on arrival is in the extreme left lower corner of the video at 21:58, you flew right over it.
Great vid man. Always appreciate the detailed explanation of each facet of the flight. Cool ending sequence as well. Awesome work!
Thanks for filling my aviation fix Steve-O, when I can’t fly due to maintenance or these lovely upstate NY winter days!
It’s good to see the basic traffic pattern in use and watching a professional pilot land at those smaller Class D airports. You have my dream job Steve-O.
Ahh, that's what she looks like, nice looking plane, you have too much fun, I love flying. Thank you and be safe, take care.
Missed being on board had to come back, after my career in as ATTSS for the FAA it is amazing I chose to fix NAV-AID’s and not flying. Thank you for letting us come along
Better than bedtime stories of our youth! Envy your ATIS/ATC read back skills. Thanks again, Steveo! 17:25
Great shot of the Civil Air Patrol Cessna coming out of the ramp on your right side❤️
Yes! I was going to say that, too. VA-102!
Thanks Steveo. It's been 30 yrs since I have been to either of those airports. Nice to see again.

All right welcome on board everybody we're here in the TBM!! 🚀 Finally another video!
This video hits home for me, big time!
Grew up in TCL, my father flies a Pilatus out of there to this day.
Out of high school I joined the Navy as an air traffic controller, so I’m removed from the city for now. But I plan to work at the tower in TCL in my retirement!
4:02 N129PK - your dad's? :-)
@@realulli no, that was him taxiing out of MGM on the way to TCL!
Thanks!
steveo not sure if you'll see this but in motorsports people use this stuff called flock on the dashes to reduce glair, if you bought a dash flocking kit that might be able to reduce the glair from that vent in front of the wind screen
@9:51 They say roll tide. I say GO VOLS BABY
Easy fix for that cockpit dashboard vent metal reflection into the windscreen: paint it matte black like the back of a prop. Someone missed that in the design spec!
At 21:57 the east stands of the stadium are visible in the lower left of the screen.
You can get that grille up on the console painted with a very flat black paint and it won't give you all that glare in the sun.
Good to have you in Bama Steveo! I’m an hour north of Tuscaloosa. Hope I get to fly and meet you one day. You’ve been a huge inspiration.

A nice friday just turned great. Always a pleasure flying with you Steveo 👍🤙
Great video Steveo. It never ceases to amaze me the size of US college football stadiums. In the UK, you'd be lucky to have one man and his dog watching a college game.
Great video Steveo.....love it when you include video from the city you are in!
Roll Tide!! Nothing better than Bama football and TBM’s
Thanks for keeping the right seat open for the ride-a-long! Nice short virtual hop up to Bama Town!
My cat enjoys steve-o videos lol .
Seriously, he chills and pays attention .
Thank you steve-o !
Hope you enjoyed your stay! I have spent a lot time at that stadium in the past.
Good one, Steve. I fly right seat on an XLS, part 91 also. We went into Tuscaloosa last August. Looked familiar. :) Good videos. We appreciate them!
The perfect way to end a crazy week. A SteveO video!
We say "Roll Tide" on departure at KTCL! I fly there from KGMU. Eat at Chuck's Fish in Tuscaloosa!

I was just thinking Its been a while since i hung with Steveo. I love it when ATC gives you a heyo
Roll Tide, Nice to see you flying into airports I’ve flown into. Several family members attended Bama, and still have family in the area. My trip in the 172 from Florida takes a bit longer:) Thanks for the views.

Roll Tide brother it was right under your wing to the right Bryant Denny Stadium , cool remix at the end
Man, I’ve driven between Tuscaloosa and Montgomery several times. It takes a lot longer than 20 minutes to drive it! I really enjoyed the flight.
During football season, some of my Alabama customers will end their phone calls by saying, “Roll Tide.”
Was just in Title Town watching BAMA beat up on Middle Tennessee State, great flying.
I'm surprised its not called Tuscaloosa Nick Saban airport.
What a great way to start a Friday. Thanks for the flight Steveo. Your work is always appreciated. ✌✈
A delight & privilege as always Steveo… hope you found that stake house
Another Stevo classic...thx for the ride.
21:50, you actually fly right over the stadium.
I do love the sound of the engine spinning up.
And spinning down!
Thanks Steve!
I did my private pilot check ride at KTCL in 1997. Montgomery airport is an interesting airport. Lots of special ops guys come through there.
My home airport learned to fly there very nice video nice ending!!
I forgot how much I miss these videos. Thanks Steve-O
Another great Vid.
Get the engineer who works on plane to pop out the vent covers and paint them in Non Reflective MATT BLACK or SATIN BLACK Paint instead & pop them back in.
TBH entire thing probably like 1 hour job :D (tho is that allowed dont know)
I've worked in Airport Operations for 36 years. There are 3 constants in life, not 2. It's Death, Taxes, and Airport Construction!
Could you maybe paint or sand the pilot side vent just under the windshield to a more mat black or the same color / texture as the panel surrounding the vent ? Just a thought :) . Love your vids
Great job Steve-O, thanks for letting us ride along!!!!!
I LOVE your videos. They are just so good. Thank you for making them Mr Sir...
Wow you crossed half a million subs. Congrats man. Have enjoyed your channel over the years!

Get some flat paint and redo the glare by repainting That grill. Thanks again for the ride.
I was thinking the same thing. Hope it gets done.
Steve-O, awesome pilot and music mix master, thanks for the adventure to T-Town..and Bryant Denny…🛫🎸
Awesome videos. Thanks so much from Newfoundland Canada!
Always enjoy your videos, thanks for sharing.
Put a black matte finish on that vent. Sure that vent keeps glass clear.
I was born and raised in Bibb County! great video!
Man love what you do i drive everywhere flyer at Heart watching from PC FL
Steveo, Glad to have you in the neighborhood. Roll Tide!
That`s a kick ass ride you`re driving there. I can almost forgive the nose wheel.
That's my home FBO, I made that exact same flight last weekend. Hate that I didn't get the chance to meet you. ROLL TIDE! :)
Hey, Where has Reggy been? Miss the Sock Off!!!!! Love all your videos Stevo!!! Blue Skies!!!!!!
Thanks
Excellent as always, Steve Jim Ryan Austin Texas
I really like the end of this video showing where you ended up.Even though I’m a long time subscriber this my first time commenting.
Great time flying with you Steveo. Shout out from Weatherford, Tx.
