I think it's one of the best strategy game in the world.

Vanilla bannerlord is a soulless husk that lacks anything to do outside arcadey battles, modded BL with mods like bannerkings, RBM, diplomacy etc is amazing and gets much closer to the proper sequel warband should have got.

I hate to say that you're right.
Art to Music to Companions. So empty

I HIGHLY recommend you revert back to 1.16 and install the immersive mods I have. I FINALLY stabilized my mod list so that I will almost never crash. Even if i crash, you can click on a boutton saying "attempt to continue" and it will just cancel the lost script that caused the crash and continue the game.
I have many immersive mods, probably the best I can think of like:
    bannerking
    diplomacy
    Realistic battle mods
    Xeborax
    Cheyvons mods
    More raiding
    Serve as as a soldier
    Fourberie...etc
The game just feels so alive.. You will see the ai behaving much better, you will see different named people like group of traders, mercenaries, manhunters, deserters, named renowned bandits..etc Outloaws and bandits can actually comme together, and consoolidate and form a bigger party (of they like each other)
Fourberie mod: Opens up a whole new layer to the game
Conclusion: YES , bannerlord is probably the most immersive and engage open world, rpg with tactical battles and actual 1st person/3rd person battles..
I cant think of any other game like this one.

Bannerlord is a unique game, i don't think there has been anything similar to a big sandbox game that allows you to recruit armies and fight your enemies on the open field or in sieges
the closest thing to it that i can recall, is Middle Earth: Shadow Of War, although it is linear and has no army management.

Exactly. it's a great thing to see in a game.

The problem with Bannerlord is that it doesn't really compares to others games, since there isn't any other game with birth/death + massive 1st person battles + city/dynasty/diplomacy management (kind of) + RP features. So yeah, by default it's still "worth playing Bannerlord in 2024". Doesn't change the fact you will need mods to have an interresting playthrough and the impression Talesworld gave up on its own game.

Hahah, that's a valid point mate. Tbh, I play without any mode and still enjoying it so far. I think the worst version of the game is still above of some strategy games out there.

With my modlist with stuff like hold court, rbm, random events, dramalord, adventurer and diplomacy its the most immersive game out there for me. The problem really is late game and the lack of politics you get to do in game but with the right modlist it becomes bearable. The economy needs some work too Warband had a more consistent and impactful economy to it

Its considerably more worth playing in 2024 than it was on release and will continue to get better every year as more mods are created .

@@OttomaniaGamingGame has so much problems. Playerbased parameters (Kingdoms randomly declaring wars to kingdom which the player just joined or lords who executes player even tho they have 'mercifull' stat) Timewasting-overcomplex-useless skill system. Repetitive and lack of variety gameplay elements (tournements & quests). Fake economy (which is last thing you should do in a supossed sandbox game since its stricts freedom in game). Being king but not even being able to send your men to take out bandit hideouts. Not being able to talking to npcs or increasing reliations unless they have quests. It was most fun time i had while i was learning the game, but after 100+ hours it became boring doing same quests and tournements since there is no variety. Its worth to play tho if you new.
