I liked how at the end, when Yinu was on top of that giant rose and her mother was no longer interfering (her being the dubstep influence in Yinu’s music) she was playing pure classical and the music meter is freaking out cause it’s neither edm nor rock
The finale kinda paints the full picture. I once thought that it was the mother that was snobbish and entitled. She was as much a victim to nsr as yinu. These two were a power duo, their music being the best ever. All yinu wanted was to play by her mothers side, so she continued to take after her mother, till she ended up surpassing her. Nsr found an oppertunity to green light yinu and took it. It seemed fine at first but the fame is stressing them both out. They are trying to make each other happy, but they don’t know how. Yinu is trying to make her mother happy by making it big, but she is sacrificing her own happiness as a result. Her mother, on the other hand, thought that yinu being very popular was what she wanted. She ended up angrily attacking those who would interrupt, and effectively put yinu in a cage. It took mayday smashing their piano for them to realize that all they needed was each other.
I love the ending to this fight but I have one thing to say. The guy/girl keeping the stage lights centered on Yinu and her mom deserve a medal for commitment to their job.

I think Yinu and her mother are both grieving/processing the father's absence in their own way. Yinu wants to play to honour her dad, but the mother micromanaging her daughters career is either because she wants them both to have something good to distract them or just because she wants to feel like she's in control. @@jamesvega6813 This. I guess people thinking the mother is selfish and one of those soccer moms haven't bothered with the game that much story wise. @@CenerothXaris It's something of an allegorical trap - and I'll admit to falling for it myself. We've all seen the stage mom archetype, and we gain similar sense of triumph in recognizing it that _actual_ stage moms do from their children's success. Yinu's reason for playing music is that it connects her to her father. He taught her how to play piano at a young age and was the one who first realized that she was a prodigy. He ended up dying from an illness. Her mother then started up her career from there, wanting her daughter to show off her talent to the world. However, she ended up losing track of the past and focused more on raising her daughter though fame and notoriety. Yinu playing the piano in the end likely is her reminiscing her father and when they used to play together. It's why she was so sad when she saw that her piano was broken. Her mother comes in and plays beside her in the end to let Yinu realize that although her father is gone, she'll be there to support her from now own. It did seem like a pretty big piano for just one person to play on.

A thought entered my mind that adds more depth to Yinu and why she's at EDM. SHE'S LIKE A NINE YEAR OLD CHILD! Like others said, she and her mother must have still been going through the loss of her father, meaning Yinu must have wanted to be the best at piano to make him proud. EDM must have known this and told the two that they may be able to help her be the best. Yinu, wanting nothing more then that, agrees. So they take her in and start to help her get better and while doing so, gaining her trust and making her think what they want her to think. (Side note, I like to think that because she's a child, she doesn't attend any important meetings because she wouldn't understand, while her mother would take her place. But Yinu still attends auditions because, well, music.) Then Zuke and Mayday come around and audition and we know what happens next. They get thoroughly denied and rejected. But I think that Yinu was told by the person next to her to press the big X button and deny them ("Hey, Yinu? When they come to ask our opinions on how they did, push that big button with the X, okay?), and she, not knowing any better, does so because an adult told her too and why question them. Heck, there could have been a chance that she LIKED their performance and was sad to see them go, but the other people didn't and she had to agree with them. And after they leave, she could have been told that they were evil and nothing but big bullies. I would think that her mother would be suspicious, but she wouldn't do anything because she's not a member of EDM. (Second side note, in the original artwork for all of the members of EDM, Yinu is literally dabbing and I like to think that the green member of 1010 taught her that.) Just a thought.
At the final segment, when Yinu goes all out, the meter goes haywire. This is the only time this happens, the rest of the times the meter favors "Rock" at the end even when the Megastars are giving their all. Also, Yinu´s music is not Rock nor EDM. Yinu is 9. Mayday and Zuke should pray Yinu never asks for a rematch when she grows.
At first I thought this was about a controlling mother who was profiting off her daughter's success and Yinu just wanted to keep her mother happy. Then the backstory made this fight much more depressing. Kinda seems like the strings between Yinu and her mother are literally tied to the father's piano. The mother makes Yinu play to feel connected to her dead husband and Yinu still just wants to keep her mother happy. I think at some point she assumed Yinu's dream was to get big and she got lost in the fame with Yinu. The stress has literally put Yinu in a cage. She doesn't care about the fame, she just wants to feel connected with her mother. It sorta feels like the player is the one that helps break the unhealthy ties they had, helps them move on from the father, and helps them remember why the enjoyed playing.
I've looked everywhere for the version of the song in the last part of the fight where Yinu is "going all out", and i can't find it anywhere in the OST. Anyone knows where to find it?
It's easy to forget the plot: Bunk Bed Junction KILLED IT at their audition but were shut down due to... well let's call it conspiracy to keep a long story short. They got mad and understandably so, but a big part of it was more at them not getting "what they deserve" if you will. So this boss fight if nothing else should've been a big clue-in that SOMETHING wasn't right in what the duo was doing. You ARE after all going after a child and her caretaker.
Yeah, they seem slightly bothered by it during the briefing and later on mayday says how "they've done some things they're not proud of" in the radio interview.
At first I thought the mother was one of those moms who forced their child into music. But...seeing her anger and grief when she thought Yinu died...and the realization and relief she felt when Yinu played her piano...she’s a heck of a mom.
Not gonna lie, with how Yinu and her mother both played the piano after the stage was destroyed and the performance was ruined, this made actually question Kliff's motives: cause this was definitely a serious eye opener....
Holy frick I just realized that the piano breaking, yet still playing, represents how the dad may be gone, but they still have each other, and he's still with them.
I like that there's no victory music at the score part because it makes you feel guilty about beating them. Maybe it hints that Zuke and Mayday might question a bit whether what they are doing is even ok, or if maybe they've gone too far.
I was expecting the mother to talking like her daughter’s music was as much her doing as Yinu’s and say stuff like “how could do this do us” or “we can’t lose to the likes of you” like a stage mom
Yeah, I wanted just a little more of that too. Mostly she just yells Yinu, play harder and that thier making a fool of her. I think in one of her unused voice clips she says some like "those kids, there making a fool out if you yinu" different tone.
May and Zuke literally crashed Yinu's ( a freaking child ) show, mocked her, scared all her fans away, destroyed the stage, beat the shit out of her mother and broke her dead father's piano... Am I still supposed to believe that we're the good guys in this situation?
10:50 Wow. That mother is already in "mother wolf" mode as it is, lost the family piano from her dead husband (And she IS still wearing her ring!), A concert hall, Not least of all, saved her daughter from a near fatal plummet... And Mayday STILL talks trash! I would have forgiven the mother if she ripped that guitar out of May's hands and go full Negan (From Walking Dead) on the both of them.
I'm just gonna say my idea, I think it would be more emotional if there was like a spirit of Yinu's Dad beside Yinu playing along or watching them play the broken piano together, to show that he is happy to see them happy for playing what he left behind for them. It would also help people understand early why Yinu has been so upset and hurt, but desperate to keep on playing the piano for her Mom.
Why does nobody understand why BBJ destroyed her piano..? The reason they had to was because cause that was their only way to defeat her. She was too strong with the piano. They had to break it or they would have been defeated because Yinu was too strong. Kliff says that the only way to defeat her was to destroy what she was using. Same goes for Tatiana. I see many people perplexed on what Tatiana has to do with time and with the keys you impale her with. Kliff says that to defeat her, you need to unlock her past. (Also Yinu saying “listen to this!” Is so cuteeee

I just realized that yinu and her mother(what’s her name?) have inverted eyes and skin. Yinu’s skin is yellow and her eyes (pupils) are red, while her mother is the reverse of that.
This was the part of the story where I stopped believing in Mayday and Zuke's cause. I will not lie that the gameplay is the best since the gameplay isn't the best sometimes, but this game's story, characters and symbolism is very very well done. No one should say that the developers of this games did a bad job with that part because I honestly feel that there was alot of passion and effort put into this game. Bad gameplay? That's fine people should criticize that part so future games should be better, but everything else just works really well. That's why I'm glad the critics understood over at metacritic that this game was pretty good especially their first game. This boss battle is just more evidence that this game is a work of art and maybe this game would have been alot more better as a animation or show, but they at least tried to turn it to a game.

(Second side note, in the original artwork for all of the members of EDM, Yinu is literally dabbing and I like to think that the green member of 1010 taught her that.)
Just a thought.
the music from the last part makes me cry ;(
it always will
I call yinu's mother rose
I call her Ruth, because well...
Ooooooh
Doesn't really suit the cultural theme, but pretty.
Actually, Yinu wants to play because it connects her to her father, not her mother. He's the one who taught her to play.
@@jadaw644 reread this comment. You just summed up the last sentence.
@@toshio1334 That's my mistake then, I misunderstood.
Yinu's battle has my favorite music in the game.
And so that’s how the whole this came from demo to final version of the boss. Even for the fact that the demo doesn’t have a full version of Yuni.
I've looked everywhere for the version of the song in the last part of the fight where Yinu is "going all out", and i can't find it anywhere in the OST. Anyone knows where to find it?
If you find it or someone say it pleeeeeaaaase stay in touche !!!
Me too, i need this
Cleanest version I found so far is this one th-cam.com/video/FiOvnQaFCYE/w-d-xo.html
From the 23 minute mark
@@kbm1315 This is a very good find, at least now i know what the full segment sounds like, thank you very much sir :D
Am I the only one that notices Mayday's and Zuke's models just sliding in the background at 11:40? On the left side of Yinu's head.
11:43 Look behind Yinu's back lol
Not gonna lie, with how Yinu and her mother both played the piano after the stage was destroyed and the performance was ruined, this made actually question Kliff's motives: cause this was definitely a serious eye opener....
The heartbroken expression Yinu's mother had when she saw her daughter playing on that broken piano almost killed me inside.
Smith's Death Falling From No Straight Roads Encore Edition Tiny Troopers Global Ops
Holy frick I just realized that the piano breaking, yet still playing, represents how the dad may be gone, but they still have each other, and he's still with them.
I love how depending on who had the advantage, it's their style of music playing.
Im seriously crying over the ending...
I like that there's no victory music at the score part because it makes you feel guilty about beating them. Maybe it hints that Zuke and Mayday might question a bit whether what they are doing is even ok, or if maybe they've gone too far.
I mean they kinda destroyed Yinu’s piano which is most likely the few things she has from him
The final ending music made me cry a little T^T
I was expecting the mother to talking like her daughter’s music was as much her doing as Yinu’s and say stuff like “how could do this do us” or “we can’t lose to the likes of you” like a stage mom
Yeah, I wanted just a little more of that too. Mostly she just yells Yinu, play harder and that thier making a fool of her. I think in one of her unused voice clips she says some like "those kids, there making a fool out if you yinu" different tone.
11:43
Still can't tell if that's (May n Zuke behind Yinu) an animation bug or if that was intentional lmao
Anybody sad that the Finale isn’t in the OST? :(
May and Zuke literally crashed Yinu's ( a freaking child ) show, mocked her, scared all her fans away, destroyed the stage, beat the shit out of her mother and broke her dead father's piano... Am I still supposed to believe that we're the good guys in this situation?
We all really just saw a sad child and said "that one. I love that one." Huh?
I like to think that the piece they play at the end is the first song her dad taught her to play so it hits more in the feels
10:50
Wow.
That mother is already in "mother wolf" mode as it is,
lost the family piano from her dead husband (And she IS still wearing her ring!),
A concert hall,
Not least of all, saved her daughter from a near fatal plummet...
And Mayday STILL talks trash!
I would have forgiven the mother if she ripped that guitar out of May's hands and go full Negan (From Walking Dead) on the both of them.
I call it spiky mode cause she has spike hair
IT BRING IT that's becoming a meme better be
Also I realised the mother is frozen when she charges
But her head isnt
And her hand
Idk the plot of this game but I was rooting for the enemy
1:54 when you broke something and your mom, who had a good day at work, gets home
The rage of the mother
Goliath: her piano cute then mine
This was the only boss battle that makes me cry every time I play it oof, the end part always does it
Mayday: *destroys Yinu's piano
Yinu's mother: _Peace was never an option_
I'm just gonna say my idea, I think it would be more emotional if there was like a spirit of Yinu's Dad beside Yinu playing along or watching them play the broken piano together, to show that he is happy to see them happy for playing what he left behind for them.
It would also help people understand early why Yinu has been so upset and hurt, but desperate to keep on playing the piano for her Mom.
God that would've made me cry my eyes out
5:25 that answer was witty and funny
Why does nobody understand why BBJ destroyed her piano..? The reason they had to was because cause that was their only way to defeat her. She was too strong with the piano. They had to break it or they would have been defeated because Yinu was too strong. Kliff says that the only way to defeat her was to destroy what she was using. Same goes for Tatiana. I see many people perplexed on what Tatiana has to do with time and with the keys you impale her with. Kliff says that to defeat her, you need to unlock her past. (Also Yinu saying “listen to this!” Is so cuteeee
Everyone: Talking about how Mayday is cruel for destroying Yinu's piano
Mayday:Will literally die if she doesn't
At 11:40 is Yinu smiling cause I can’t really think about it
Such a very sad and emotional Boss.
Yinu has the saddest but most heart-warming ending ever
Is there a name for the song Yinu plays at her final faze?
Sadly no, it is also distinct from the base Yinu theme.
You can hear it here at the 23 minute mark:
th-cam.com/video/FiOvnQaFCYE/w-d-xo.html
PLEASE I JUST WANT TO HEAR THE LAST SONG THEY PLAYYYYED
We're The Ideals Meridian We Know The Autobots Leader Petals Will Fall Someday And Yet Still We're Entertained By Them....
Yinunis my favourite boss from purely artistic standpoint. All the rose symbolisms are top notch, and her story is the most the ragic
When her mom shrinks you hear someone falling in lava
Looks in mirror: are we the bad guys?
I like to think of this boss battle as a mid season finale because this is where you really start wondering if you’re doing the right thing, and because of the ending of this boss battle. And also because at this point, you’ve taken down half of NSR.
4:22 _Where_ do those explosions come from?
1:53 when you hear someone stealing your beans
The heck mayday?! You just fricking smashed yinu's piano?!
I just realized that yinu and her mother(what’s her name?) have inverted eyes and skin. Yinu’s skin is yellow and her eyes (pupils) are red, while her mother is the reverse of that.
Honestly my favorite boss in the game, the music is phenomenal
A surprisingly tragic fight Yinu is barely even a villain
Damn she is a great mother
1:55 kingdom hearts boss is coming
The music from phase 3 was my absolute favorite.
1:55
BFG division plays.
This was the part of the story where I stopped believing in Mayday and Zuke's cause. They were doing just as much harm if not more so then NSR and they didnt know it but it doesnt excuse their actions. This little just wanted to play and she had alot of personal reasons to Mayday and Zuke were just assholes to this poor girl.
11:27 I just cry 😢
I felt so guilty after this stage. 😢
Not gonna lie. I almost cried at the end.
...... I can almost see her father/Yinu's father...playing with them.
My personal favorite fight.
Is there a link to the ending music
rightttt , I need that link like I need my heart 😭
How convenient that after such a long fall, the piano only broke into halves.
Do you know how I would unlock the EDM Track for this battle? I'm having difficulty getting past Hard Mode.
Yinu and her mom are very underrated!!!!
*The moment you finally realize that Mayday and Zuke and acually bullies*
Am i the only one seeying somethin movin in the background while Yinu n her mom play the piano together???
Left right behind yinu. At first i thought Mayday n Zuke were sneaking away but NOPE
Where??
@@MhViVi1from 11:36 down in the left corner as they start to play pay close attention. Right behind Yinu. Not the red floor just slightly right under her ear u con see somethig move n i might just be silly looking so much into it..but call me curious maybe its the map stuff movin around

Kakyoin is alive in you
What’s the music in the beginning called?
I will not lie that the gameplay is the best since the gameplay isn't the best sometimes, but this game's story, characters and symbolism is very very well done. No one should say that the developers of this games did a bad job with that part because I honestly feel that there was alot of passion and effort put into this game. Bad gameplay? That's fine people should criticize that part so future games should be better, but everything else just works really well. That's why I'm glad the critics understood over at metacritic that this game was pretty good especially their first game. It definitely isn't evolutionary but this game gives me hope that their other games might be better. This boss battle is just more evidence that this game is a work of art and maybe this game would have been alot more better as a animation or show, but they at least tried to turn it to a game.
6:25 My mom when she gets mad and sees me doing something to my little sister
“Are we… The bad guys…?”
Yinu: playing classical piano
Me: how is this EDM?
(the music amps up and becomes classical mixed with dubstep)
3:11 I love mama's accent

Ok :)) Am I the only one who see Mayday and Zuke are the one who bullt Yinu here , her mom just try to protect her
I ❤️ it
