@@ZedThirtyOne_Z31_ the George fury Bathurst bluebird was a z18. Mike Raymond claims in the video that this is fury's car from last year.. the engine could have been modified/changed though for sports sedans, I can't say for sure. I have read that the L Series heads flow better so its possible but it would have been a lot of work to change as nothing is comparable as far as the intake and exhaust setups
I miss those days.....I used to trek to Winton, Sandown and Calder Park to watch these machines. It's all too...predictable these days. How can the Sports Sedans Championship still being won by a 30 year old car
Wonder what happened to Gary Scott, easily one of the most under rated Australian drivers ever.
Never forget watching the races here
The era when Sports Sedans consisted not only of "pure" Sports Sedans, but also superseded/obsolete touring cars.
1.8 litre z18et engine awesome motor and great driving from Scott here
If you're still about - it was the 1.8 for sure? Not an LZ?

These guys were about 10 seconds off the pace of the national series cars......
Thanks for the upload Pierz. Very cool bit of footage. Can I ask where you got the footage from?
An old VHS?
+datzed hi mate, I had a guy contact me because of my father and gave me this race and many others of old sports sedan races from back in the day

A moment of appreciation for the Castrol commercial at the end.
