    They rate these for 3/8 AR 500 targets for pistol calibers up to close ranges. Rifle can be shot at it from 100 yds, otherwise rounds will pit and ding the plate, which then can make it very unsafe for pistol shooting, because it affects the way the target sheds the spalling. The flat surface at a slight 15-20 degree angle is what makes it shed the pistol rounds and not endanger the shooter. The divets will screw that up. I would retire that plate to your rifle setup and use your new undamaged one for pistol. Anything over 3000fps they recommend 200 yds. (Like 300 win mag, 338 Lapua, etc. ) Good to see they held up , Thanks for posting this.

      Yep the target is a little banged up. I do mostly use it for long range at this point. Had it out at 400 yards the other day. I knew going into the video that you're not supposed to shoot rifle rounds closer than 100 yards but I just wanted to see how it'd hold up. But definitely a good call to not shoot any closer at this point. Thanks for watching ✌️

    Good test. I'm waiting for one of these to be delivered and I was wondering how it will hold up to AK shooting at 100 yards or possibly 50 yards... I think this answers it lmao.

      Lol glad this helps. Should hold up just fine. But not sure if you saw the update in the description, the welds for the flipper broke under some very tough use. The target itself is still in good shape though. Thanks for watching ✌️

    Lmao 😂 the shotgun toss. Great video, I just got my HIghwild target and it’s great. Iv only shot it with pistol rounds at 10 yards. 357 mag 9mm 45acp lots of 22. Plan on moving it out to 125/150 yrds for 556/223. Thanks to your video I now know it won’t hurt the target at all. But still won’t use the green tip on it, just in case. Looking forward to your next video.

      Hey AL, thanks man! Yeah it did pretty good even with the bi-metal jacketed steel cased stuff. Glad you you got the target and hope you shoot the heck out of it! ✌️

      It won't punch through it. That's all I run (M855 62gr) and only have one hole from firing at 25 yards.

      @@DeathFromAbove_5.56you really shoot this thing at 25yds with green tip?? 😂
      I guess these are pretty cheap plates but still. I’d be worried about catching frag that close as the plate gets dinged. I’d rather use frangible and not have to worry about it if I want to dump rounds inside of 50.

    What was the target distance when you shot 223?

    • @AmattEUR
      @AmattEUR  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I believe it was 25yds. I wouldn't go any closer but because the target is angled down I wasn't too worried

      @@AmattEUR you were shooting .223 at 20-25 yards at that target?

    • @AmattEUR
      @AmattEUR  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sure was, I think 762x39 and 308 as well. The target does a great job of deflecting any ricochets downwards since it hangs at a slight angle

      @AmattEUR  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lol if I didn't "give a crap" about them I wouldn't have a YT channel dedicated to them. But anyways I treat my guns like I treat my children - as little attention as possible. Thanks for watching ✌️
