i use to subscribe to the idea of a "full face of makeup" but i hate how most of the products look on my skin. so i stopped buying primer, foundation, powders, highlighter, and bronzer. i feel more confident wearing just concealer, brows, eye makeup, and blush even if my texture and pores are showing☺️
For me, it's liquid lipsticks. I just realized with time that I don't really like them so I am not drawn anymore to try them out. I have one from Persona and even that one looks a bit dry on my lips (and apparently that is the best formula ever). Glosses and regular bullet lipsticks are way more flattering on me.
I totally agree with a lot of these, especially pore filling and smoothing primers! They don't do anything for me. I also never use my bigger eyeshadow palettes and a lot of my face palettes. I kind of want to make a video like this now lol there are so many products I used to buy that I realize I never use now!
Ive had the same long wooden brown eyeliner from wet n wild since high school!!! And i love using brown liner, i almost never wear black! They really do!!
I used to use those all the time in high school and in early years of uni until fine retractable brow wiz dupes came onto the market. At first I'd go through them quickly but now that I've learned how to fill in just the few gaps necessary and not overdo it I don't go through them that often at all. Your surname sounds polish so if you live in Poland or visit sometimes I recommend the wibo ones, super affordable. I know that those kinds of pencils completely changed the game for me with being able to draw on individual 'hairs' so I just want to suggest giving it another shot ;)
My list: -setting powders (only need 1) -face palettes with eyeshadows and face powders (pans are hard to use sometimes) -big eyeshadow palettes (can't store them) -liquid lipsticks (too much work to apply) -high end mascaras (drugstore has nice ones) -bulky packaged makeup (can't store them) -brow pencils (only use brow gel/soap) -makeup with odd shades, like navy blue lipsticks, bright pink blushes,... (only wear natural shades) -red lip products (only need 1)
Items I don’t buy Hyped up products, I used to buy a lot of products, I have learned to be way more selective. Do I have something similar? How many of that item do I have? Backup products, never again. 2 reasons sometimes my tastes change and secondly I have too much I won’t be able to use up the item
Makeup is so different for everyone i freaking love brown lipstick and orange/brownish blushes. Anyway it was interesting seeing someone else's preference
I totally agree with your statements at the beginning. "I used to think I needed to have what other people had that looked interesting" I never really went through an overbuying and debt phase, but I absolutely did not save as much as I should have during college years ago because I lived right near Ulta! Since quarantine, I have worn make up maybe 5 times in the last 5 months and it's been a HUGE eye opener and allowed me to try new skincare. I think beauty YT is slowly getting much more minimal and only buying and keeping PR that really interests the person. EDIT: LOVE THIS EYE LOOK
Sarah Rose I loved watching this video! I used to purchase all the holiday makeup that brands put out, even if I knew I wouldn’t use it. Now days my makeup collection is smaller, but I really love and actually use everything I have.
It’s so interesting seeing different perspectives because I can totally see where you are coming from on primers, but I feel the complete opposite. I find that if I’m going to spend money on a primer it needs to do something different than a moisturizer. For my skin, I can get a glowy look from a nice moisturizer under my makeup so I do tend to buy more blurring, smoothing or gripping primers if I’m using a primer at all.
Great video! I know I’m different than many people in this but I love my singles. About 2 years ago, I was actively trying to pan eyeshadow palettes. I realized I had a lot of palettes where I only liked a handful of shades. So after panning my Chocolate Bar palette, I gave away some palettes and de-potted the rest. I kept the shades I love and gave away the remaining colors (I have a girlfriend that takes individual pans.). Now I have one magnetic palette (Adept - 63 pan faux leather XL palette). All of my eyeshadow is in this one palette. I’ve bought a couple of quads since then and de-potted them to add to this palette. It’s great for me in the morning to have all eyeshadow in front of me while I’m getting ready. I only buy singles if they will fit in this palette. If I pan an eyeshadow or give one away, then I can buy a new eyeshadow. But I won’t buy anything that won’t fit in this palette. I also starting making frankenshadows when I’ve used up a lot of the shadow (thanks Elle S) so I can actually pan eyeshadow. I know I have more eyeshadow in this one palette than the average person, but I also have a lot less than many makeup enthusiasts that watch YT.
I love face palettes and it's not helping with my inventory. Since i count every pan in palette as an individual, it ends up making my count so much higher. I feel like people who count face palettes as 1 product, 1 face palette are ignoring the truth😅😅😅
I've been waiting for you to do this video since I saw the other three!! I keep a list of makeup shades and finishes that don't work for me (golden highlighters, liquid and metallic lipsticks, etc) and I think it's really valuable to figure out what does and doesn't work for yourself. I hope more people cover this topic 😊
Right?! I'm 43 and NEED brown lipstick in my life. I'm also clearly a different skintone, since Bite Chai was almost Concealer Lips on me, and neutral bronzers look super muddy on me...
I totally agree with you on both face palettes and large eyeshadow palettes. I used to buy face palettes because I thought they would be more practical and I should have them as a makeup fan, but truth be told I have decluttered almost every single one. The only face palettes I still own is an ABH Glow Kit and a tiny blush trio. As for eyeshadow palettes, I think a lot of people are starting to get fatigued by the larger ones and quads and smaller palettes are getting more popular. I kind of feel more comfortable with quads, because I takes a lot of the decision making out the whole process. And since I usually do my makeup at like 6 am, I really don't feel like making decisions before I've even had a coffee LOL
Large eyeshadow palettes overwhelm me a lot. Though, I’m super inspired while using Huda’s 18 shadows Mercury Retrograde. My go-to palette is 5 shadows drugstore palette, and oh boy the formula is amazing. I use the shadow in a palette when I do single shadow look :) For brows, I’ve heard pomade isn’t for someone who has sparse eyebrows so I use powder. It lasts for a very long time. I live in a hot and humid country, so on a day I know I’m not going to be in an air-conditioned building, I’m not going to wear much makeup. And I don’t own a foundation because it’s hot all year and I don’t like how it looks on my skin anyway. One of the two blushes I own is exactly the same as my flushed face. It’s almost too pigmented BUT I don’t plan on having a commitment with a new blush before I use these two up hahaha I used to buy products that people recommend and regretted it. Just knowing that when you put anything in your collection on your face and it’s going to suit you beautifully is super nice! (I got chatty today sorry lol)
You look like Jennifer love Hewitt here 🥰 whatever bronzer blush combo you're wearing is very flattering for your skin tone! Eye makeup is amazing too hehe
For me, pore filling primers are the only ones that really work 😅 They make my makeup last way longer... I sometimes use hydrating primers in winter when my skin is really dehydrated. I don‘t buy anything glowy 🤷🏼♀️ I don‘t even need highlighter... Oily skin problems 😞😉
Ive kinda moved away from makeup and spend my money on skincare more now that im in my 30s. Minimal makeup makes me feel the best. Concealer blended on the face, mascara, a few shadows on my eyes and lip gloss and im good. The feeling of a cake face of makeup gives me anxiety 🤣
Loved your makeup look! That green looks fabulous! Can you tell me which shadow you used? Definitely agree that you don't need to like everything that others do and have makeup preferences as per our liking and hence not buying products we don't even need!
i agree with you in mostly everything, I used to buy lots of individual eyeshadows and even though I love them, I find myself hardly ever reaching for them, it makes me sad
Yeah another thing I don't like about face palettes is that brands usually only release one version, making it "universal" -- but that's kinda like a "I don't see color" type of cop-out. If they make it "universal", then that means that only 1 shade (*maybe* 2) actually works for you as a cheek product -- or they call it "universal" and it only works on a light-medium skin tone.
I loooved this vid. I feel like everything you said at the beginning about figuring out how you personally wear makeup resonated so hard. I also agreed with so much of your list. Here's mine: - any primers - once I realized I mostly wanted moisture from a primer... I just got a stronger moisturizer. lol. Solved my issue. - highlight - I don't wear it - warm eyeshadow - nothing makes me look worse/sick faster, haha - most lip products - I gotta own that I'm just a nude gloss girl And my big deviation from your list is that I LOVE single magnetic shadows. haha. About 6/13 of my palettes are palettes I've made myself with eyeshadow singles (small, curated color stories), because I realized brands just WEREN'T making the palettes I wanted. I'm so satisfied with what I've created. Thanks so much for jumping on this tag!
I feel the same about limited edition products, I think companies should launch fewer products and spend more efforts to improve. I am not a fan of brands like Estee lauder or Dior since they are not cruelty free but I feel that their products are more thought out and elaborated if that makes any sense, I mean double wear is the older foundation i know and people continue using it. Great video as usual, love your channel 😘
Wow... your channel just popped on my feed and connected with you so much. I had similar realizations last year but with different products. I no longer buy eye shadow palettes - for the life of me I never reached for them. I’m the kind that puts blush/bronzer/highlighter on my eyes lids and in done. Nothing fancy, just natural eye looks - that’s me being true to myself. I only kept 3 eye palettes in case I ever need to make a glam look but my everyday eyes have bronzer, blush or highlight. With that being said I do love bronzer palletes for that reason but I only have two at the moments I don’t need them all either. The darkest reddish bronzer I love to wear on my crease to add definition and the other shades I contour/bronze if I want too. I only have 2 blush palletes as well and like 10 single blushes. I’m obsessed! Highlighters i love individual ones also because all the highlighter colors in a pallete don’t flatter me, they’re just pretty to look at and swatch so it’s a waste for me. Loved this video.
Oh man I love magnetic singles, I could have only those as my eyeshadow to be honest, but that gets too expensive. I love moving them around creating new colour stories. I often depot singles or sometimes palettes I have to pop them in a magnetic palette and make it more exciting for myself.
The elf retro paradise could actually be duped quite well by a juvia’s place palette (I think it’s the magic palette). So if you like the colours, it might be worth to look into that.
Great topic and I really appreciate your thoughts! Over the years I have narrowed my products it feels really good to love what you have and use it up. A few key eyeshadows and pencil liners in purple and brown shades, a light shimmer for the lid, and a black mascara are all I need. One tinted balm with spf for day and a red lip stain for some drama when I am in the mood, and I am good to go. Love watching people who have and use more but I have found what flatters me and makes me feel put together. 🌺💗
Love this list! I agree with everything on it. I learned this after years of learning my makeup style. Any product that you have to "make work" in order to wear it, is a no for me.
Oh wow, your eye look is gorgeous!! 😍 I really enjoyed this video. I totally agree with everything you said about limited edition products! And also just the idea of figuring out and enjoying what works for you. 🙌💜 Love it.
I feel the same w “pore filling” primers. I have tried the benefit porefessional, which my wife loves, but I don’t see the difference under makeup. I prefer hydrating primers or glowy ones. I prefer pomades for the same reason too. I’ve probably been working on my Anastasia pomade for a year and a half now. I have like 1/4 of the product left and I wear makeup everyday.
yeah. you've so convinced me to try brow pomades. I've always used pencils but I either feel like I waste product by sharpening them or I go through them in weeks if they're retractable. After I finish the one I'm using I'll probably get that Anastasia one. ♥️
I agree with a lot of what you said.. I'm over buying colour cosmetics that are too dark for me and trying to make them work because they look pretty, especially blushes.. the only thing is I actually do like pore filling primers but only for special occasions.. but I only have minis of those.. most days my sunscreen acts as a primer.. with brow pencils, I go through them pretty slowly because my brows are already dark,so I just fill in a few areas to make them look a little thicker..
I'm kinda the opposite on single shadows, but only after decades of having loved straight up singles, when magnetic ones weren't available. Now I want to be able to make my own little trios etc. & Never need long-last spray unless I'm performing on stage, which this year is not happening! I can see how oily-skins might need it but that's not me.
I’m so over primers and setting sprays! Honestly the best primer for me is the Nivea men’s post shave balm. It’s very moisturizing and holds onto make up. Moisture is the key!
For me, it's sheer lip products, like tinted lip balms or lip stains. I have fair skin, but pretty pigmented lips, so sheer lip products just don't show up on me! Like Glossier Gen G or Colourpop's multiple sheer lip products, they look so gorgeous and I love the idea of them, but I have had to accept that those colors will not show up how I want them
When I was in high school I did winter guard and show choir and I used the poop out of pour filling primer and mattifying foundations because I wanted to look smooth, but they made me break out like crazy! I ended up stop wearing foundation after high school and my skin has been so much better
A few things I no longer buy: - bronzer. I don't tan. Ever. I have fair neutral/cool skin and bronzers look fake on me. I'd rather enhance my fair skin than fight it. - too dark/golden highlighters. I bought Champagne Pop because of the hype and just decluttered it because it's too dark... by like 3-4 shades and golden tones don't look natural on me. I need white/pinky/champagne tones. - liquid lipstick. I like comfort. I just do. I don't mind reapplying products either. Gloss and creamy lipsticks are my preference. - rainbow palettes. I thought I needed every color under the sun. But I don't. Specific shades and tones of certain colors like green and purple, but not neon pink or lime green. I'll never wear that. - a million black eyeliners. I need one. Just one. I wear brown or green eyeliner more often. It makes more sense for me to have multiple shades of brown. - contour products. I have one. Never use it. It just looks odd on my face. I thought I needed to contour my nose because it's buttony, but I like it as it is. Contouring it just makes it look dirty not smaller.
I think those larger palettes are great to find the shades that work for you. I have been LOVING figuring out face products that work for me + I am slowly learning but I need some variety to find what I love vs what isn't flattering. Once I hone in on that, I will probably spend some time finding a ride or die replacement. I definitely do this with clothes, too. If I want to figure out if I enjoy wearing a certain silhouette/pattern, I'll get something cheaper and trial run it basically. It's still a super intentional purchase- just not an investment. PS: I am still so in love with that Chai lipstick ^.^
I've stopped buying warm color everything, even some neutral shades pull too warm on me. I've figured out in the last yr that I'm pretty much a cool tone person, and cool tones look lots better on me!!!! I've also stopped buying pallets and went to singles. I don't like full or med foundations, I quit like sheer coverage. I like lipgloss and sheer lipsticks. And I also have decided that I like light and med eyeshadow/lipstick anything to dark or bright looks garish on my fair skin.
I agree about not wasting money trying to find a cheaper alternative- I did that with my tinted sunscreen and wasted more money (and product!) than I would have spent just getting what I already knew worked perfectly. Also agree about the limited edition products- they are just trying to get people to rush to give them their money.
Beautiful eye look and an interesting topic to discuss 😍I feel the same way about the primers, too. I haven't restocked it since March and intend to keep that way 😁 I also feel I shouldn't buy any more single eyeshadows, lipsticks too which are more than enough already, and learned that I don't use them all anyway 😄😂
Amazing video!! 👌 When everyone started wearing blinding highlight, I was like I need to have one, but I never wear that, it emphasizes my texture and it's just not my thing!🤷♀️
Wow, your eyelook is amazing, it suits you so well! 😍 I completely agree with you that we should really focus on those things that work for us and make us feel good ❤️. I used to think that I need to own really full coverage concealers and apply large amount of them to work, but in reality they just emphasize my texture... now I choose lover coverage products and they work amazing
Just wanted to point out that, for example, the Nyx version (if you buy from them, I forgot) of dipbrow isn't the same, so wouldn't recommend that one as a true "dupe," it can get out of hand really quick and it kinda varies in how it'll apply so it's trickier to use vs. my dipbrow to me isn't that pigmented right off the bat (mine is super old though but I've found that the top layer of dipbrow is the most pigmented). Like I bought the nyx then ended up trying dipbrow soon after anyway. So idk if there's true dupes out there for it or not
Def agree.. RIP to my moisture barrier in 2015-2016 college when I thought I had to use a setting spray like UD all nighter just for every day?? I have dry eczema prone skin, it took me about a year to be like “wait a sec... I can use a hydrating spray and the world will literally keep turning” 😂 The trial and error phase is fun but makeup purchases are much more satisfying when you know they are exactly what you want!
Ive seen this everywhere but here is where ill put my list... I love this channel and everyone here so i shall begin #1 face pallets #2 lg eyeshadow pallets #3 magnetic pallets (i re use empty compacts and components) #4 face washcloths (use baby washcloths) #5 under eye shadow brushes ( ipsy small brushes r fine and double sided brushes) #6 liquid lipsticks #7 lipbalms (again, ipsy sends them and other p.r. and fam) #8 high end sponges #9 heavy moisturizer and primers ..i mean hhheeaaavvvyyyyy lol #10 brush guards!!! I make my own!! They r esssspensive 😊😊 Love yall and Sarah💜💜💜 B safe everyone 💛💛💛💛
It took me two years to go through an ABH dipbrow. I’ve tried drug store ones and they dry out too quickly. I’m back to the dipbrow now and won’t try any other pomade.
I have quite a few categories of makeup I don't buy. Primers ~ I don't see difference, setting sprays ~ again not much difference, lip liners ~ meh not my style, liquid lipstick ~ I have extreme problems with lips and it's impossible to wear, brow products ~ every palette has a dark brown eyeshadow that I can use as brow powder, cream cheek products ~ I can't wear them on my oily skin no matter how popular they are lately and how good they look on others. I really want to stick to these things because it really doesn't make sence to me to buy these things and try to "fit in". At the end of it my makeup still looks similar to the tutorials and most importantly I myself love the way it looks and wears ♥️
I think they key is to use as small amount as possible while still getting an even application! I actually prefer loose powders. My current favorite is the elf hd powder in soft luminance!
Would you consider the ABH dip brow to be waterproof? I too feel like I'm being wasteful going through an eyebrow pencil every couple months, so I'm interested in a pomade, but I really need one that won't run when it gets wet. Thank you!! 💚💜💙
@@SarahRoseBeauty Lol Thanks for your response anyway! I know it's a weird question, but where I live we often end up in the pool still wearing whatever makeup we had on that day. It can be a real eye burning situation if I'm not careful 🤪😂
I feel you on the lipstick thing, but for me it's pink 😂 I rarely wear pink makeup as it is, and pink lipstick looks SO BAD on me! I'm glad I just stopped trying.
P.S. Have you reviewed the elf glitter you're wearing in a video? It's so pretty, I would love to know what you think of the formula before I go buying all the shades. 😊
I’m the same with single shadows, palettes etc. I much prefer smaller palettes. I’m down to two palettes now (the Biba palette and the TF sweet peach) but actually I wish I just had two or three single shadows. I’m seriously considering giving away my palettes and then just buying a few single shadows in pots. The palettes are starting to really get to me for some reason.
I don't buy primers. The pore deleting primers make my makeup slip away, instead for hydrating ones I just use my face cream and the long lasting ones dont do anything for me
I dont like limited edition makeup because what if i love the product and can no longer buy it. I would rather save myself from that kind of situations.
I blame the beauty industry from 2014-2017 LOL. I feel like that's when TH-cam beauty gurus really popped off, so I went to Sephora and MAC buying everything and anything #regret #projectpanning
I’m a blush and highlighter junkie, but I do steer clear shades that are too deep for my skin tone, shades that are too light, and shades that are too bright. I learned that lesson. I own a super bright Mac cream blush in magenta and a bright powder blush in fuchsia. I can make them work when I mix them with a more neutral color and it’s so pretty but I have to put in that extra effort and I already have a ton of blushes that just work, no extra step required.
i use to subscribe to the idea of a "full face of makeup" but i hate how most of the products look on my skin. so i stopped buying primer, foundation, powders, highlighter, and bronzer. i feel more confident wearing just concealer, brows, eye makeup, and blush even if my texture and pores are showing☺️

I have been moving away from liquid lipsticks too!!
I totally agree with a lot of these, especially pore filling and smoothing primers! They don't do anything for me. I also never use my bigger eyeshadow palettes and a lot of my face palettes. I kind of want to make a video like this now lol there are so many products I used to buy that I realize I never use now!
Wow, I love your eyelook! I started using wooden sharpenable brow pencil, they last forever!
Ive had the same long wooden brown eyeliner from wet n wild since high school!!! And i love using brown liner, i almost never wear black! They really do!!
+1 I’ve been using sharpenable eyebrow pencil every day for 5 months and I used up maybe a third of it.
Oh nice! I feel like I would have to sharpen it too often to keep it pointy and I would end up wasting product!🤔
I used to use those all the time in high school and in early years of uni until fine retractable brow wiz dupes came onto the market. At first I'd go through them quickly but now that I've learned how to fill in just the few gaps necessary and not overdo it I don't go through them that often at all. I wanted to try wibo one since they launched, but I have to finish my wooden one first so maybe in 2030;)
My list: -setting powders (only need 1)
-face palettes with eyeshadows and face powders (pans are hard to use sometimes)
-big eyeshadow palettes (can't store them)
-liquid lipsticks (too much work to apply)
-high end mascaras (drugstore has nice ones)

True!
Very good list 👏🏼
Great list!
Thanks for sharing!!

Me, at 38: Love them. My favorite. 😂😂😂

You are glowing today and your eye look is gorgeous!! And I agree with all your points, interesting how much I learn about my makeup preferences!
Thank you Annie!!
Your eyes in this video! I couldn't stop staring! You look stunning with this look Sarah!
Thank you friend!!

Such a great video! And as always you’re looking STUNNING. ! Love your eye look here and the haircut is so beautiful on you 😍
Thank you so much!!
I love this eye look sooo much 😍😍
Thank you Lila!!

Definitely agree that you don't need to like everything that others do and have makeup preferences as per our liking and hence not buying products we don't even need!
The green shadow I used was the elf glitter shadow in mermaid shimmy! 😊
i agree with you in mostly everything, I used to buy lots of individual eyeshadows and even though I love them, I find myself hardly ever reaching for them, it makes me sad
Same!! I used to use them so much more, lately I just haven’t been as inspired by them 😕
Yeah another thing I don't like about face palettes is that brands usually only release one version, making it "universal" -- but that's kinda like a "I don't see color" type of cop-out. If they make it "universal", then that means that only 1 shade (*maybe* 2) actually works for you as a cheek product -- or they call it "universal" and it only works on a light-medium skin tone.
Oh good point! And whenever they do include shades for multiple skin tones in one palette, I feel like that’s only useful for a makeup artist.
I agree with most of this! I have been trying to get my collection paired down and that has me coming to terms with who I really am not who I wanna be
I loooved this vid. I feel like everything you said at the beginning about figuring out how you personally wear makeup resonated so hard. I also agreed with so much of your list. Here's mine:
- any primers - once I realized I mostly wanted moisture from a primer... I just got a stronger moisturizer. lol. Solved my issue.
- highlight - I don't wear it
- warm eyeshadow - nothing makes me look worse/sick faster, haha
- most lip products - I gotta own that I'm just a nude gloss girl
And my big deviation from your list is that I LOVE single magnetic shadows. haha. About 6/13 of my palettes are palettes I've made myself with eyeshadow singles (small, curated color stories), because I realized brands just WEREN'T making the palettes I wanted. I'm so satisfied with what I've created. Thanks so much for jumping on this tag!
Yes!! So much easier to just own who you are! Most people don't wear lipstick everyday and I think we forget that in TH-cam land a lot hahah
Agreed!! Products that have stood the test of time seem so much more valuable to me!
Wow... your channel just popped on my feed and connected with you so much.
Thank you so much for clicking on my video!! I'm so glad you liked it
Oh man I love magnetic singles, I could have only those as my eyeshadow to be honest, but that gets too expensive. I love moving them around creating new colour stories. I often depot singles or sometimes palettes I have to pop them in a magnetic palette and make it more exciting for myself.
I really need to get back into using my magnetic singles!! I love so many of the shades I have, I just rarely reach for them these days :(
The elf retro paradise could actually be duped quite well by a juvia’s place palette (I think it’s the magic palette). So if you like the colours, it might be worth to look into that.
Oh good to know!!
I feel so hard for you. We all lost something in this year and I hope 2021 can be better than that
❤️❤️❤️
Great topic and I really appreciate your thoughts! Over the years I have narrowed my products it feels really good to love what you have and use it up. A few key eyeshadows and pencil liners in purple and brown shades, a light shimmer for the lid, and a black mascara are all I need. One tinted balm with spf for day and a red lip stain for some drama when I am in the mood, and I am good to go. Love watching people who have and use more but I have found what flatters me and makes me feel put together. 🌺💗
Yes!! Different colored pencil eyeliners are sooo underrated.
Oh my goodness this eye look! 😍😍😍
🥰🥰
Love this list! I agree with everything on it. I learned this after years of learning my makeup style. Any product that you have to "make work" in order to wear it, is a no for me.
Yes! Sometimes I can find a way to make certain products work that I end up really enjoying, but other times it's just not worth it.
Oh wow, your eye look is gorgeous!! 😍 I really enjoyed this video. I totally agree with everything you said about limited edition products! And also just the idea of figuring out and enjoying what works for you. 🙌💜 Love it.
Thank you Belle!! So glad you liked it
Loved this video! Thanks for posting. ❤️❤️❤️. And you are so right about really thinking about your purchases.
Thank you Jennifer!!
Yes!! I feel like the pomade is going to last me at least 2 years 😅
wow!! that glitter eyeshadow is stunning
I love it!!
Your makeup is so cute today!
Thank you so much!!
yeah. you've so convinced me to try brow pomades. I've always used pencils but I either feel like I waste product by sharpening them or I go through them in weeks if they're retractable. After I finish the one I'm using I'll probably get that Anastasia one. ♥️
I hope it works for you!! It's a little tricky to get used to at first but once you get the hang of it it's amazingggg
You mentioning the brow pencils reminds me of my Nyx brow shadow that I've had since 2015
I'm kinda the opposite on single shadows, but only after decades of having loved straight up singles, when magnetic ones weren't available. Now I want to be able to make my own little trios etc. & Never need long-last spray unless I'm performing on stage, which this year is not happening! I can see how oily-skins might need it but that's not me.
I need to get back into making little quads out of my singles because it's so fun!!
Such an informative video, thanks
I’m so over primers and setting sprays! Honestly the best primer for me is the Nivea men’s post shave balm. It’s very moisturizing and holds onto make up. Moisture is the key!
Yes!! Primers really aren't a necessity for everyone!
For me, it's sheer lip products, like tinted lip balms or lip stains. I have fair skin, but pretty pigmented lips, so sheer lip products just don't show up on me! Like Glossier Gen G or Colourpop's multiple sheer lip products, they look so gorgeous and I love the idea of them, but I have had to accept that those colors will not show up how I want them
I love your makeup today! Catching up on videos.
Thank you so much!
I love the eye look you have here!
Thank you Marie!!
The abh pomade I’ve had since 2018. It still has over half of it & it is the only brow product I’ve used in 2 years. It’s definitely worth the money!
Wow that's incredible!! Such a great value!
When I was in high school I did winter guard and show choir and I used the poop out of pour filling primer and mattifying foundations because I wanted to look smooth, but they made me break out like crazy! I ended up stop wearing foundation after high school and my skin has been so much better
Your eyeshadow is stunning!
Thank you Vanessa!!
LOVE your eyelook!
Thank you so much!!
A few things I no longer buy:
- bronzer.
Love this!! Thank you for sharing
Omg I need a tutorial on this look! 😍 I just got the naked honey palette
Yes so important to remember that and not feel guilty when going through the trial and error phase!!
Thanks for sharing Stacy!!
I agree about not wasting money trying to find a cheaper alternative- I did that with my tinted sunscreen and wasted more money (and product!) than I would have spent just getting what I already knew worked perfectly. Also agree about the limited edition products- they are just trying to get people to rush to give them their money.
Yes!! Sometimes quality over quantity is the best route to go
I’m over smoothing primers too. The only ones I use are mattifying ones cause I have oily skin. Also what shade is on your eyes it’s so pretty!
Thank you! It's the elf glitter shadow in "mermaid shimmy" 🤗 I love it!!
if you love bronzer that's awesome. I just use brown eyeshadow that comes in every single palette. Same with my brows
I love this video concept! Empowering makeup users to do what works for them!
Thank you Laura!!
Yes lipstick is another area I’m trying not to buy too much!! I love lipstick but I just have so many already!
Amazing video!! 👌 When everyone started wearing blinding highlight, I was like I need to have one, but I never wear that, it emphasizes my texture and it's just not my thing!🤷♀️
Yes!! It can be so hard to find intense highlighters that don't bring out texture.
I agree!! Sometimes lower coverage looks way better than full coverage
This hair cut suits you!!
So idk if there's true dupes out there for it or not
Ooh okay good to know, thanks!
Haha yes!!! Oh what I would give to have oily skin again.... 😭
i have sparse asian brows but you've got me convinced on the pomade.i'm eyeing the la girl one, is it any good😅
The pomade has been such a game changer! I haven't tried the LA Girl one though, sorry!
Ive seen this everywhere but here is where ill put my list... I love this channel and everyone here so i shall begin
#1 face pallets
#2 lg eyeshadow pallets
#3 magnetic pallets (i re use empty compacts and components)
#4 face washcloths (use baby washcloths)
#5 under eye shadow brushes ( ipsy small brushes r fine and double sided brushes)
#6 liquid lipsticks
#7 lipbalms (again, ipsy sends them and other p.r. and fam)
#8 high end sponges
#9 heavy moisturizer and primers ..i mean hhheeaaavvvyyyyy lol
#10 brush guards!!! I make my own!! They r esssspensive 😊😊
Love yall and Sarah💜💜💜
B safe everyone 💛💛💛💛
Love that!! Thanks for sharing :)
It took me two years to go through an ABH dipbrow. I’ve tried drug store ones and they dry out too quickly. I’m back to the dipbrow now and won’t try any other pomade.
That's amazing! Definitely worth the investment!
What kind of powders do you use? You said you don’t like drying ones.... I have dry skin so looking for glowy powder as well
I think they key is to use as small amount as possible while still getting an even application! I actually prefer loose powders. My current favorite is the elf hd powder in soft luminance!
I have fair/light skin but I love midtone pinky brown lipstick😄 but I never buy lipstick that leans too warm, looks awful on me!
Yes!! I think it all just depends on your undertones!
Would you consider the ABH dip brow to be waterproof? I too feel like I'm being wasteful going through an eyebrow pencil every couple months, so I'm interested in a pomade, but I really need one that won't run when it gets wet. Thank you!! 💚💜💙
It’s def long wearing but I haven’t put it through a waterproof test so I’m not sure! Haha
Yes! Certain pinks look weird on me too!!
P.S. Have you reviewed the elf glitter you're wearing in a video? It's so pretty, I would love to know what you think of the formula before I go buying all the shades. 😊
I reviewed it in yesterday’s video! 😊
@@SarahRoseBeauty Haha Clearly I'm behind on my Watch Later list. 😊 Thank you!! I'll be sure to watch that one next. 💚
I get that!! Palettes definitely aren't for everyone!
I don't buy primers. The pore deleting primers make my makeup slip away, instead for hydrating ones I just use my face cream and the long lasting ones dont do anything for me
This goes to show how personal makeup is. I love the way I look in brown lip products and light nudes look awful on me lol
I soo wish I could pull off browns! They look so good on other people!
Sarah Rose I feel the same about the light nude colors hahah. For the longest time I would buy them and it’s just got flattering at all
I have too many primers and I keep forgetting to use them! That's what happens when you get ready at 5am!
Haha I'd be lucky if I put any makeup on at 5am!! 😆
😊😊
🤗🤗
I dont like limited edition makeup because what if i love the product and can no longer buy it. I would rather save myself from that kind of situations.
i feel the same way!!
It's funny how i keep hearing about people traveling in a pandemic Lol
I blame the beauty industry from 2014-2017 LOL. I feel like that's when TH-cam beauty gurus really popped off, so I went to Sephora and MAC buying everything and anything #regret #projectpanning
I’m a blush and highlighter junkie, but I do steer clear shades that are too deep for my skin tone, shades that are too light, and shades that are too bright. I learned that lesson. I own a super bright Mac cream blush in magenta and a bright powder blush in fuchsia. I can make them work when I mix them with a more neutral color and it’s so pretty but I have to put in that extra effort and I already have a ton of blushes that just work, no extra step required.
are you secretly Bonnie from how to get away with murder???
