I wanted to say this video has given me more tips about the tech stuff ! than most video's will ever give, cause we all know after a few video's about what the basics are of green screen and blue, these are the tips i never knew until i watched this ! 1:192:3810:15
Thanks for the video but I notice that you strongly caution against using Tungsten as a source for your green screen (14:32) but you mention that in studios they use tungsten in Cyc lights (7:47) and Space lights (8:30) to light the green screen. Can you explain the discrepancy?
Today, cyc lights and space lights are LEDs, but prior to LEDs, they used Tungsten globes. If a production had enough money, the ideal option would have been to use Kino-Flo Image 80s with green bulbs. But before LEDs, the only lights with 5600 daylight were Kino-Flos with daylight bulbs and HMIs, which aren’t the best option to light a green screen.
@@FilmSkills Thank you for that clarification! What would be your counsel to a studio that has a bunch of 3400 Tungsten LED lights and have a green screen? Sell them? Gel them? Use foreground lights set to the same color temp and white balance? Your expertise is greatly appreciated!
So I am a house painter and I want to use my cell phone to make green screen videos can someone please clarify for me exactly what shade of green I would want to use for is making videos using cell phone? I’m going to color match some paint but I don’t understand the difference between the darker green screen and the brighter green screen and how it would affect my particular used case, using a cell phone for video.
So far in my limited experience the chroma key is set to around 354c in the pantone system and using a darker green can cause the editing software to have a harder time making a seamless edit
I watched till 10 minutes and I didn’t get what I wanted to know 😢 you didn’t mention small space which I think most of people has , small space with green screen such as in the basement or you have room in your house you want to do green screen in it , how to light it how to light your subject in small areas with out buying all these expensive kits that you mentioned
This is the best tutorial on green screen I have seen. Excellent explanations and examples.

How can I light a human with color changing light while using greenscreen? Is it even possible, like for imitation disco or party lights?
